There's always the 15 day trial, if you want to go legal. |D
For me, photoshop just makes more sense.
If you know enough about GIMP though, you can get pretty good tags out of it.
Generally though, I've only seen about four or five people who can do that though. <w<;;
 
Well I met someone on another forum who's really good at GIMP. |D
And the other people are from the actual GIMP forums, so you can understand why they're good at GIMP.


Here though, I'd put my money on Conman. <w<;;
 
Yea I'm not a forum nerd any more. Lost interest in the 'signature banners are graphics' and the way people try to do more than edit photos in PHOTOshop. Also lost interest in photoshop in general. Much prefer Illustrator and InDesign.

I dont suggest buying photoshop if banner making is all you plan to do on it...

Same for me.. though "forum nerd" isn't the expression I would use.

oh and I still use PS for manipulations mostly..

Ya... I've been around, keeping an eye on PC, just not as active as before ^_^

I'm sure nobody has money lying around these days xD hehe

I use gimp, I pretty much suck with it......

But I know a person that's awesome with it, her name is Anastasia-R she's a member on PC. :D

She's major with gimp, she's also the art mod on PE2K....

And I've seen some more awesome banners made in gimp...(I'm the hostess of BOTW on PE2K it's week 21 now...) And most of the newbies on there start with gimp, it's a good practice before PS...

Anyway I updated the shop index... xD

Would it kill you to make an activity post? xD
 
Okay, let's get off the topic of GIMP etc for a while.
I had a bit of an idea for the graphics section.

So, it seemed my SOTW: Icons theme was a real hit, and a lot of people on PC are really getting into using them in their signatures etc

So my idea was, to start a PC Icontest.
A weekly contest, just like SOTW & POTW, except obviously, all entries must be 100x100 icons.

How's this sounding?

And yup, I know Anastasia too. |D Haven't seen her around lately though.

Icontest, huh? Nice creative name xD

That would be interesting, the popularity of icons is freakishly huge right now 8D
 
I despise the idea. Just seems that you want to justify the reason for not putting much effort into the stuff you make by saying it's because it's a tiny canvas. Which btw graphics are usually 3 times the size of sigs as minimum.
 
Don't like it? Don't participate. Everyone else likes the idea so there's no need to be a negative Nancy. It'd be fun to work with tiny canvases. You can stop QQing over the idea and not participate. (:
 
Just posting my opinion on it. Never said I was, but me think this will reduce the likeliness of entries in sotw.
