I read that. I figure most flash carts won't bother trying to update and everyone will look straight to that SD slot for homebrew purposes.

Though Nintendo may heavily discourage even that since--why allow a simple homebrew stopwatch app when they could sell you one over DS ware! 8D

Well you'll need to be able to sign executable files to run from SD-card; just because its a common format doesn't mean homebrew/piracy will be a walk in the park. Nintendo have been learning from the Wii scene for a while now; so I'd be super surprised if SD-card homebrew happens before flashcards are patched to work through the DS slot, tbh. My thoughts are that you'll probably use a DS-slot flashcard to breach the security and then it'll be able to access the SD-card slot for actual file storage. This would presumably mean you'd never actually have to sign your apps, and it also means there's still financial incentive for pirate-groups in the form of the DS-slot cards.

Wow thats so lame it won't work on DSi,
anyways, I'm happy with my DS Lite,
I don't exactly see the need for DSi when you can most likely download the DSiWare stuff you buy
over the internet, and use it on CycloDS =)

I say its better that the flash carts dont wrok! Also hmm thats nice. Fast swirching of the carts is something that should have been one from the beggining and the camera seems to have some sort of use..

Don't waste your money on buying DSi.

R4/A lot of flash Cards are not compatiable with it.

And you HAVE to buy the Oringinal DS Cards if you buy DSi.

Unless the R4 Company releases the new R4 that is compatible

with DSi, I will never, ever buy the DSi no matter how many

features it has.

I'm still considering whether I should get a DSi. My lite's hinge has cracked and it's caused the screen to go all weird colored for the past few months and that's really annoyed me... so I'll be getting a new DS; lite or DSi. But the DSi doesn't seem to be all that much better imo. I mean, I could pretty much do the same on a DS lite + flashcart right?

Honestly, is everybody so hooked on flash carts that they cannot stand the thought of actually having to buy the real games?

As for the DSi itself...with all of the compatibility issues, I think I'm going to follow the same policy as for the PS3: if I can get one for free or dirt-cheap, then great, but otherwise I'm not going to even bother.

Yes amen to that. I mean seriosuly its about time nintendo buckled down on flash carters as its not fair for them to be working there a**es off and you guys thinkinf it takes nothing so why should i pay something. Thats like saying the best things in life are for free. Yeah right. I mean by flash carting you never get the joy you get from peeling off the nintendo strip and tearing the plastic. You never get to say wow the paper stinks as you read the manual. You never even get the joy to gogle over the shiny cool boxart for 5 minutes before dumping it in the pile of boxes as you have carrying cases. Really now thats all what nintendo is about and all that the nintendo seal of quality is there for. Now stop complaining about no flashcarts and embrace the fact that the new dsi means a whole lot more.

I honestly think it's a pathetic for people to be moaning about the loss of flash cards. While I'm not against homebrew development, it was about time Nintendo dealt with whatever was needed to stall the flash card market, since the cards would burn their revenue.

Doesn't the DS have firmware updates? For any incompatibilities with current games, firmware updates are there and should be able to fix those problems.

Yep i also posted a very moving speech way im agaisnt flash carting. Also hmm it cant be fixed with firmware updates for soem games. Liek GH wont be able to be played. Also biggere screen could cause some minor pixel bloating with older games. Im afraid to see what lunar genesis would look like XD

I'll never buy that.. This might sound weird. But I think Nintendo should go back to Gameboys. Or atleast make a final one. The Gameboy Micro was just pathetic IMO. They should make atleast one more Gameboy before ruining themselves with this new Nintendo DSi

To answer your question with one word. Yes.

Uh... No one did complain that flash carts don't work so I don't know what you're talking about. I do slightly agree with the rest of your post though since I don't appreciate DS games as much as I did when I bought them.

Well the guy above my post a bit above not directly complained that because flash carts are not useable he wont buy a dsi. Now im not saying that he should but that its a stupid reason to complain bout not buying the dsi. I already explained though why its so much better to buy a game them pirate it ^_^
Edit: i said buy a guy then pirate it. XD

Wow, the pop of the DSi is really booming, now I am looking forward to this game :)

But my question is... Why is the popularity more than calculated? It just has a Cam and an MP3 player...

Yes but it also hints to a gs remake without a gba slot. And it could mean camera activated games bigger screen could mean more fluid camera controls and cutsences in game and a whole lot. Lets not forget that it also has a built in wfi detector with a downloadable browser so you could use it as a browser over wifi as well.

Speaking of that browser, for anybody who may have imported the system, how does it run?
