The offical "PC won't load | I can't post | threads won't load" etc. thread.

I guess so. People can't get on (sometimes for hours at a time @_@) so they find something else to do until it works. And then everyone gets on again and it breaks again, so to speak...yeah. Just goes on like that. XD;

It's also kinda funny how nobody seems to learn from previous threads that get closed, but I won't get into that....

The REAL problem is the Oekaki :D lol
 
Hmm..this is odd. I added a part to my fic and although it shows up fine when I am in the topic outside the topic it seems as if the reply has never been posted. Even topics posted at seven am are higher up on the forum than mine, which was updated at around 11 am..
 
perhaps if a donate option was available, people could donate and we could purchase a better server.
just a thought.

That happens to me all the time. I think that if you post something while the forums are down it wont post it the way it should...mostly because its...say a lag maybe? I get that sometimes and it's wierd. XD
 
Well, I tried it again just now and it still did not show or bump down the latest fic (which as posted around 3 pm.) or anything.
If it was just something that effected my posts for a set period of time that would be fine but my whole fic topic seems to be trapped in forever yesterday limbo even with a reply chapter posted in it today :P

Try copying the post on another page or in a Word doc (so you don't lose it). Delete the post, paste the copy in a new post and just post it again. That should bring the thread up to date.

Woohoo, it worked this time :)! I don't know what sort of mobly powers you have, but thank you very much for using them to help me, I really value it.
 
I have an odd problem...Sometimes I can't see banners in signatures...and sometimes I can see them fine, but that's only once in a while O_o; Maybe it's my computer or website the banner is from...But does anyone know what the problem may be? o.o
 
I posted a new episode of "The Ash and Pikachu Show" a few minutes ago, and the reply wouldn't appear...when I refresh the page, the post is there, but the thread doesn't update...why does it do that?

Read my reply to Orange_Flaaffy (it's just a few posts up) and then read Jake's (Wolt) add on to my post. That'll get your post to show up on forum.

It could be where the banners are uploaded (ie PhotoBucket, ImageShack etc), their servers could be down. If you're on Dial-Up then likely the reason why the banners won't load is because you're loading lots of other images at the same time. Or because PC's server is slow and you're having to load them avys.
Lets say you go to FanFics and you've never been there before, most members stick to that one forum so you don't have a chance to load their sigs. You're having to load 20+ images at the same time, so before it gets done loading them all it cuts out and you see half of banners or none at all.
 
Well, the odd thing is....I can't see a banner at all, it's completely cut out...but then once in awhile in a random post a banner will appear! I won't see it in any other post except for the one it appeared in...And I do not have dial up and my computer is really fast, I have no problem loading pictures...99% of the time I can't see certain banners so I doubt it's a slow server...

I had the exact same program. If it is the same. it's your anti-virus/firewall software. Don't know what exactly it does but I had McAfee, & then I got Sophos instead & the problem went away.
 
Oh okay...Thanks Magey! =3 That does make a lot of sense...McAfee is such a weird program. I knew it wasn't because of slow servers...Thanks! =D
 
I notice that the server is packed with users during the Evening (that's GMT btw). So I find it difficult logging in or posting.
I find it better posting in the morning since there's not a lot of users.

Does anyone else notice this?

This place is problembatic 24/7/365/100 as far as I'm concerned. If something's not done to fix it (such as pruning old threads and unused accounts), I'd might as well leave.
 
Im just enquiring about the massive Downtime earlier on. Have we upgraded our Forum Software?
