Alright, so, I wanted to catch myself a Haunter in the Old Chateau and later evolve it into Gengar. (Back in Pokemon Diamond that I played, I had a Gengar, since I was able to trade with a buddy that also just so happened to be into Pokemon.) Well, I forgot recently that Haunter needs to be traded in order to evolve, and when I realized, I felt I was wasting my time training Haunter, since I would never be able to evolve him, and his stats were just too bad for him to be much of an asset.
See, my fiancé and I moved 3 and a half hours away from our home (so that I could attend school here in Chicago), so my guy friend that I mentioned is no where near us any more. I'm 22, and my fiancé is 25, so we don't have many friends that play Pokemon lol, and well, honestly, we don't have any friends in this horrible area of the world at all. So, I have no one to do trades with now.
It's really frustrating that the Pokemon game creators restrict us in these kinds of ways, as if they expect us to have friends that play and that would be willing to do trades with us. I understand that Pokemon is a kid's game, but there are adults too that enjoy playing, and just because a little kid might play as well, doesn't necessarily mean they even have any friends that would play.
Ugh. /rant
