Possibly but, kid friendly? XD

Cool pokemon? I beg to differ, it's only the gastly evolutionary line. And you can't get haunter or gengar until after national dex.

you get haunter from evolving gastly at lvl 22 i think its that level

so yeh you can get it before the National Dex, also if you trade and trade back, then you have a gengar :S

so you can get both

Dude I agree when I saw the ghosts I like flipped out and got goosebumps. Ecpecially Rotom just topped it all off and even the staqtue if it was glaring or the two eyes and even the music. And you even see gardenia telling u so it means that more and more people were freaked by that place. And special note for moderater who posted. If there is one scary place in a Pokémon game, it's the one this thread is about. The turnback cave is just foggy.

About the "Old" thing, I have been thinking and cannot come up with an explanation. It seems to contradict itself. There is one possibility, though. If the Old Chateau is really, really, really old, it could have been built before the forest started "stoping time". Maybe it's been there since God Arceus made the world. Do u mean ever since he made the world because if u did I dont think tvs existed back then because in the past it was just stonehenge dudes.

Next time quote or use "..." at least. It's easier to read that way.

I have a name, so you know.

Good point. But it doesn't mean the Chateau was always exactly like that. It could have been there and the family just moved there. Anyway, this sign about Eterna Forest shouldn't mean anything. It's just a phrase to go with it.

So, back to the ghosts again. As I said, normally, in fiction. ghosts appear either because they had a sudden kill or because they needed to end something here that they didn't while they were alive. We've discussed the "gruesome" kills so let's think about the latter, too. What if the girl or the butler still have something to do in the house? Something maybe related to Rotom and/or the rest of the Pokémon? Something about the people that lived there? I've been thinking but haven't thought about anything yet. Any ideas about this?

I got an idea. Stupid, simple..... Maybe Rotom moved in while the people were still there. They were afraid of him, and they wanted to get out of the Chateau. The butler and the girl may have been killed trying to get out. I guess you could call it the ghosts that haunt the ghost.

Rotom was never really a Pokemon, it's an electrical virus of some sort, seeing as it "breaks into machines and wreaks havoc". So apparently the Rotom was bored so it bounced into the TV to freak out ghost hunters. Then YOU came along and decided to get it out of there.

Or rotom might be some sort of Pokemon that forms an electrical device out of something it's seen in the past and goes into it. Who knows?

Also, isn't Turnback Cave just a dimensional rift and Giratina living on both sides, possibly being material and in the afterlife?

Back to Rotom eh? Actually, I think that Rotom was once a regular electric Pokemon but something happened and caused Rotom to die. Which caused Rotom to be an electric type and a ghost type as well. The butler might have made the Gateau to attempt to heal Rotom but failed. Here's another theory. Darkrai attacked the young girl in her dreams. To heal her, the butler created the Gateau. Then when Darkrai came to finish the girl off, Rotom stood in front of the attack, killing Rotom. When the butler came to the girls room, he saw Darkrai, he then tried to stop it from killing the girl but got himself killed. Then, with no other interuption's, Darkrai killed the girl. As for Backlot, i'm not sure what role he plays, maby he was out looking for an antidote. Maby the girl wasn't even his daughter.

If there was a murder, I think it was by poison. Otherwise, why would an antidote be in the trash bin?

Maybe it was in there if there WAS going to be a poisoning.

And Rotom is a pokemon, it's like a virus pokemon though.

That'd explain the Ghost label since it IS plasma, and plasma isn't really material.

Yeah, I've been saying "POISION!" for like, three pages now... Anyways, I agree with Shiny Umbrion, ghost pokemon only have qulities of/ act like/look like ghost. They arn't dead

Or perhaps someone threw out the Antidote to prevent someone to use it.

I've been reading this thread, and as I see it, nothing has really been solved. I'm thinking it'll probably have more purpose in the extra diamond/Pearl game (like emerald, crystal, yellow), kind of like they're preparing us for the next one.

I really hope they give us more hints about the story. However, there is one, very credible story around the facts from the game (items, etc) That's in the first post. However, we have been discussing about other possibilities to agree they are facts and, with that, continue shaping the story.

So far, we've talked about Rotom, Mr. Backlot, laboratory theories, Gengar, R.O.B., and some other things.

Again, do you have any ideas about what I said?

Though I doubt that what they have to do has to do with you because the ghosts don't seem to try to communicate with you in any way. Maybe they just try to tell Gardenia something, but she tries to forget about them because she's too scared to understand what they try to do.

I just saw the Pokemon episode "Shipful of Shivers" from the orange island series, who else saw/remebers it? Maby it's something like that... but then again, the anime is crap, so maby I'm just crazy^^
