I just got started on my Scramble challenge. I don't have any of my team members yet, but here are the details so far:

-Chose Totodile as my starter and did all of the beginning of the game stuff
-Beat Sprout Tower
-Beat Falkner

Next objective: Capture Wooper!

Chapter 1: Overpowered Fire Starters are Overpowered:

So I started a brand new Ruby game, and went through all the usual beginning of game stuff, choosing Torchic as my starter. Nothing unusual or great has happened so far. I went through the rival battle, the forest, and eventually wound up in Rustboro where I dealt quickly with Roxanne. I helped Briney rescue his darling Peeko, and he ferryed me to Dewford where I challenged Brawly. See title. I'm now in front of the cave in Dewford, and probably going to catch a Zubat for flash (he'll do until I catch my true HM slaves). I really don't like having one pokemon up to this point, but oh well. It's always fun being 10+ levels higher than everyone :)

Badges: 2

The Team:

[PokeCommunity.com] The (once again) Scramble Challenge!!!

Relaxed Nature (+Def -Spd)
- Peck

- Ember

Next Time:
Travel through Dewford's cave, get me some steel wing, deliver that letter, and be on my way to the mainland. I'm expecting a Blaziken sometime soon as well...

Victory Road time!

-Got Cut and Headbutt and reached Goldenrod City (and taught WOOP Ice Punch)
-Defeated Whitney (Quagsire lvl. 28, Water Gun, Ice Punch, Slam, Amnesia)

Why not, eh?

Name: Jake♫
Game Name: Jake
Game: Gold
Number of Pokemon: 4
Restrictions: Can't do any trading, so no trade evolutions or anything I have to trade for in general. Just nothing too crappy =3

Okay, so my team is as follows:

Electrode with Self-Destruct and Sonicboom.
Stantler with Stomp.
Scyther, Adamant natured. (I fail to see how this is limiting, except in catching it, but ok.)
Nidoking. Can't evolve into Nidoking until it learns Flatter, and must know two of the following moves at all times: Flatter, Helping Hand, and/or Toxic Spikes.

As for hacking, I will hack in Voltorb at the beginning, as it is only available after Ecruteak City. The rest I will obtain normally.

@Jake♫: You get a Tauros. Must know Pursuit at all times.

For that one, since I'm using a ROM anyways, I'll switch over to Crystal so I can get the Odd Egg from the Daycare Man =3

Update time!

-Caught Sudowoodo (who knows, maybe I'll teach an HM to it)

-While trying to catch a Pineco, I found (and caught) a shiny Caterpie! Why is it that I couldn't find a single wild shiny in over 250 hours on my actual Gold Version (save for the Red Gyarados), yet I find one after only a couple of hours of play on a file I don't particularly care about?

-Finally caught the Pineco (PINECONE, level 10) after quite a few more battles. Official team member no. 2 has joined!

-Defeated Morty

-Climbed the Lighthouse in Olivine

-Received HM 04 (taught to Pineco)

-Defeated Chuck (WOOP level 38, PINECONE level 25)

Okay, started my game on HeartGold.

  • Named self Zane, rival Wes.
  • Picked Cyndaquil, went through the Mr. Pokemon quest.
  • Hacked in a Voltorb at L3. Bashful Nature, named it Boomer.
  • Boomer learned Sonicboom at L9, one of the moves it must always know.
  • Beat Sprout Tower easily with Sonicboom and got Flash.
  • Challenged Faulkner and took him down with Spark and Sonicboom.
  • Down south, caught a Wooper named Doc and gave it Flash and Rock Smash.
  • Sonicboom really helped with those Hikers in Union Cave.
  • In Azalea, I kicked TR out of the Well and beat Wes handily (No Curse, thank God).
  • Boomer had learned Rollout so Bugsy was taken care of with all five of em (Scyther went down to the first 2).
  • Got Cut in the forest and taught it to Cyndaquil.
  • Taught Headbutt to Boomer.
  • Reached Goldenrod and went north to catch the rest of my team.
  • Up by the National Park, I caught a Nidoran♂ named HornKing on Rt. 35 and a Stantler named Vincent on Rt 36.
  • Entered the Bug-Catching contest with Boomer and found a Scyther. Had to reset the game quite a few times before I got an Adamant-natured one (as per the challenge). Named him Excalibur.
  • I am currently training Excalibur up so I can face Whitney, although I may try to get Vincent up instead.
