I'd like to design our own, personally.

But custom or not I guess it will be very similar to the Season 1 digivice, because that's roughly when this takes place (it's also the one I like the most)

I personal would like the idea of online battling I could kick butt with the Imperialdramon PM i know i will have... *glares* he is going to be in isn't he!
Yes, he will probably be in.
Maybe not in the first release though.

Then again the first release won't have online either so what does it matter.

yeah i was goign to suggest like a touch screen type of digivice ohh and what about the digi-farm feature.

Will we be able to "catch" other digimon, if so, how?
Yes it will be possible (we think so at this stage), however that's one of the things we haven't decided on yet.

It could sway between either Digimon World DS's scan function or something similar to Championship.

Does that mean stuff like file island?

Also who is going to be the main story villian?

I feel that Lucemon and Cherubimon have been used so we can't use them...
Honestly we don't know.
I mean yesterday this thread was just asking for a team, it's not like we've actually started making the game yet, we're still in the design phase.

We could combine the aspects of the two capture systems; for example, scanning data, then using it to create a Digimon in a 'capture arena' and taming it in a minigame.
It might be a good idea to create a new villain for the story. It doesn't even have to be a Digimon; it could be a human, or a non-Digimon entity (a la seasons 3 and 5).

Yeah, we'll decide on the villain eventually.

However that capture idea Wichu.. It's not bad, but it's an awful lot of work just to get a Digimon.

Oh! I just had an idea.
We can use a system like Dragon Quest Monsters.

For those who don't know, instead of choosing to attack, you choose to scout.
Then your monsters all attack the enemy monster, and work up a percentage.
The more powerful they are the more percent they rack up.
Then you wait and see if it'll join you, the higher your percentage the higher chance you have of catching them.
100% being a guarantee that they will join you.

well i have a script that is made for dragonquest monsters it does exactly like what you asked. :D

Well, in the anime, the tamers only ever have one Digimon, whereas in Pokémon, each trainer can have 6. Obtaining a Digimon should be harder than capturing a Pokémon...
Also, we want a sense of accomplishment upon capturing a Digimon, much like getting a badge in Pokémon. Making them hard to get will help the player bond with their Digimon more.
