    The Pokédex

    What are your thoughts about the Pokédex? Do you even notice its presence? Let's hear it.
     
    I think it's too symbolic to be taken out at this point, and it's very useful since it tells you where you can run into a pokémon you're looking for. That's about it really, there are some cool features in some of them but those are more just distractions than anything else.
     
    It has it's uses, like looking for the roaming Pokemon in Johto and Kalos and to spend some time reading entries when you're bored :P Other than that, I barely, if ever, use it and at this point, like Laguna mentioned, it's more symbolic than anything xD
     
    Like Laguna said, it's useful as a reference for when you need to know the locations of a certain species. I like the RSE and BW/2 Pokedexes the best because of how simple they're laid out; a very self-explanatory system where you can scroll to the 'mon you want to find, or use the search function. In my opinion, FR/LG have the worst Pokedex interface in the series because of all the unnecessary menu's that are present in it. (the habitat sections)

    Sometimes out of boredom, I also like to scroll through it and read the entries for all the Pokemon I've caught.
     
    Yeah it's definitely useful on occasion! But I think it would be better if there were more prizes for completion? Like, tiered prizes. Incentivize it a bit more idk it's not really interesting lmao. I've never completed it oops even for that Shiny Charm. :/
     
    I'm trying to complete it, so I do notice it. It does make things interesting for when you need a certain amount of Pokémon caught to get certain items.

    I mean the slogan of Pokemon is (or was) "Gotta Catch 'Em All!"

    I actually find it fun to read all the PokeDex entries and observe how weird/crazy/disturbing some of them are.
     
    I do at least try to fill up as much of the Pokedex as I can, but of course there's always certain Pokemon I know I'll never be able to catch or don't want to bother with, such as legendaries,
