The thing is, most people don't know about (or can't be bothered to view) other forms of media. And besides, many are fine with what they get on TV anyway.

But I hate it whenever they report anything about celebrities. It's like there's nothing more important than them.

I don't see what people actually liked about the Numa Numa dance. Was it cause it was genuinely entertaining, or did people just like laughing at him? o.o

I tend to smash any insect with a shoe ... I just hate what's stuck underneath it :<

Given how crucial the internet is in daily life to a lot of people, I'm pretty sure they know that it can be used as a means of finding news. Whether or not they're aware of how much better the internet is, as a news source, remains to be seen.

I've never seen the angry German boy tho, so I can't input my opinion on that. =\

I wouldn't say that. A lot of the big news corporations get a lot of their news off the internet. Just today I saw this story that originally came from some news blog. I think it's as if not more important than any form of TV news media ever has been.

Unless you meant something totally different by that typo, but get back to me when you remember what you were trying to say.

That was just incredibly stupid, I'll never understand how it became so popular. Kinda sad when all it takes to get famous is have a yelling fest at a computer.

there are too many retarded things in this world that are not funny, take the movie Napolean Dynamite for instance, it is overrated, retarded, and has no meaning whatsoever, and people LOVE the movie........

Guy 1: I know lets make a movie that makes no sense at all, it'll have a stupid nerdy looking kid that loves to eat Tater Tots and like to draw Ligers

Guy 2: yeah that sounds like it would be funny, lets make it so that its retarded and people will love it

They're famous, and now wealthy, because they had an extremely crap audition on Pop Idol. Jade Goody, a contestant on an old season of Big Brother, is a multi-millionaire now and she got famous for being incredibly stupid.

That's what the media does though.

The Numa kid got pretty famous in the US as well. He eventually got invited to a crap load of different news shows but ended up turning them all down because he knew how stupid it was going to make him look. Stupider than he already looked anyway.

Kinda makes you feel great about life when you see people getting rich for really not doing anything other than being on TV or being some internet fad.

What about William Hung?! He went on American Idol, got torn apart by Simon for being absolutely terrible at singing, then put out an album and people actually bought it and listened to it. They actually gave him money for being terrible. o.O

I've never seen American Idol, so I can't really comment on that, but that's pretty much the story of The Cheeky Girls. And it's the media that generally causes this to happen. The tabloids went crazy over The Cheeky Girls, and they ended up getting a record deal and releasing a few crap records.

And Willy Hung has to be the worst innuendo name ever.

I don't watch much TV either. There are a few select shows I'll watch, and sporting events, but other than that I really don't watch television.
