I don't believe I ever took a Butterfree to the Elite Four. If I use it, I usually replace it with something like the Abra line later on.

With the Grubbin line, Game Freak pulled something even worse. They made its middle evolution, Charjabug, evolve at the Vast Poni Canyon, which is on the last island in the game.
