I'm glad Sceptile and Swampert got Mega Evolutions in ORAS. In XY, Blaziken was the only Hoenn starter with a Mega, and that wasn't fair.

Regarding Mega Sceptile, at first I was iffy about it getting Lightningrod, since Grass/Dragon has a double resistance to Electric. But it does help against Thunder Wave.
In Inverted Battles, Grass/Dragon becomes weak to Electric, making Lightningrod a much bigger help.
