It has good attack and speed for a first stage evolution, and can at least learn TMs despite only getting teleport by level up. But only knowing teleport in the wild does make it a headache to catch-- I have had many flee the battle. Also I think it's just not that interesting compared Kadabra and Alazakam.

I'll vote Abra down as well. With only Teleport in its level-up movepool, it's not only hard to catch, but if you do catch one, you either have to give it an attacking TM it can learn, or switch grind it and hope you don't run into any Pokemon with Pursuit.
