Although a visual downgrade, Dragonite more than makes up for it with it's solid stats, the Multiscale Ability, and a friendly demeanour in some cases.

13. Dragonite's design is one of the things that is so endearing to me about this pokemon. I don't see it as a downgrade from Dragonair visually, just a big change. Whereas the former was more mysterious, beautiful and graceful more like a Milotic, Dragonite instead is cute, friendly and whimsical, more like a Goodra and Drampa. I like the whole Dratini line, they are my favorite Kanto mons.
