With Fell Stinger having received a buff in Gen 7, Mega Beedrill can have a hard-hitting STAB setup move that drastically increases it's great physical Attack if the move can get a knockout in battle.
It can also be taught Drill Run and Knock Off to deal with certain threats.

Out of all the Bug-types and their STAB moves in Gen I, the best move available was Twineedle, which was Beedrill's signature move, though that's a very low bar to highlight, as it's part Poison-typing makes it very weak to Psychics.
