For a pokemon you can find very early on, it doesn't learn a proper STAB move until level 14. Snarl is pretty good but you'd want a physical move.

It evolves at level 30 which is 4 levels higher than Fidough's evolution. Honestly if I had to choose between Fidough or Maschiff I'd stick with Fidough.

It's competing with Fidough as both are dog mons that can be found early. Fidough has the more appealing design because it is unique looking. Fidough also has a better type advantage.

I really don't know what to make of Mabosstiff. I never used it. Also I'm not too fond of its design. But I have to admit that its ability Guard Dog is unique as it cannot be switched out for any reason.

Unless I'm convinced it's worth using I'll continue to go down. Guard dog has a niche in buffing phys. atk. against intimidate users, but I think that's too specific even if intimidate is a commonly used ability.
