Normally one would think that Wugtrio cannot survive the weakest slap, however they are mistaken. It is a 1000 IQ play to have gooey go off. Like sacrificing a pawn for a bigger piece. Gooey lowers the enemy's speed on contact. If Wugtrio faints that a free switch that can lead to 2 outcomes. You freely set up as the opponent switches out because losing speed can be detrimental. Or you now move first and take out the opposing pokemon now that it is slower. Few know this.

I like that Wugtrio comes out of a rock whereas Dugtrio comes out of the ground.

Not really, Wugtrio is canonically completely separate from Dugtrio and isn't an alternate form; so it not having anything underneath its heads doesn't have any implications for Dugtrio's biology.

Dugtrio and Wugtrio have the exact same BST spread. Honestly, it makes more sense for them to have the same BST than for Charizard and Typhlosion.

Wugtrio's Scarlet Pokedex entry is pretty vicious, apparently it wraps its body around prey and forcibly drags it into it's den. Not what I would've expected from that mellow design.

Bombirdier's hidden ability rocky payload essentially gives it a rock STAB which is pretty good. You got flying STAB, dark STAB, now rock STAB.
