The Random Pokemon FireRed Challenge!
So far, my first steps in the fresh grass of the Kanto region have been quite stellar as of late. Obviously, I get Squirtle, and...for this run, I want to nickname all my Pokemon after Mario characters because why not, it's a random challenge, why not a random other thing that I can do, and so name my Squirtle "Bowser". Fitting isn't it?
Anyway, I beat Gary at the lab, and so I go off to set up a placeholder team until I have the resources to find all my assigned Pokemon by the end of the game. So of course, I capture Pokemon that I feel would best suit my team's needs. These Pokemon so far have been:

Goonie the Spearow, my first other permanent member,

Mouser the Pikachu, my second other permanent member,
* A shiny Rattata,
... ... ...
A SHINY RATTATA?!?!?!
Yep, as luck would have it, without even getting to the Pewter Gym yet, a
golden Rattata of sheer beauty and strength showed up right before my eyes, and I was lucky enough to catch the incredible specimen. I would have liked him to be part of my team, obviously, but a) Raticate overall isn't a good Pokemon, and b) he isn't part of the permanent team list. Thus he shall forever remain a HM slave, as much as I don't want him to be.
Anyway, after training up my team to Lv. 10, I beat Gary again, trekked through the Viridian Forest and all its pesky bugs and bug catchers, and hiked towards Pewter Gym, where Bowser did literally nothing but play with bubbles while Brock's Pokemon writhed in agony from the seemingly harmless soapy circles. It was almost as if Brock threw the badge at me. :laugh-squinted::laugh-squinted::laugh-squinted:
