  • Frigid Sea, Galar.

The Cetoddle and Cetitan of Galar grew weary of people and decided to go back to the seas to escape their continuous nagging.
They live in big herds and use their Ice Spinner move to conjure up big whirlpools that swallow up any who bother them.

They have lost their legs over time while adjusting back to the water and instead now have extra horns on their lower body that let them freely freeze their immediate surroundings.

    West Province (Area One), Paldea.

The Zebstrikas and Blitzles of Paldea like to feed off of particularly spicy and bitter plants grown by the Capsakid and Smoliv lines. This has given these zebra Pokémon excessive fiery energy that requires them to constantly roam the region's vast fields daily in order to simply burn off the excess heat, just enough for them to be able to cool down by drinking water from fresh rivers.

The oils produced by Smoliv's olive crops have given Zebstrika in particular some harmful toxins that it inflicts onto any unlucky lifeforms that get trampled or stomped on by it's arid hooves. Touching it's spiny mane and hairs is a surefire way to get a nasty fever that can last several weeks without urgent care under an hour.

Their behaviour is highly volatile when provoked, but are generally docile when allowed to run freely, which gives it a great sense of excitement. It is not recommended to be within their proximity during certain seasons where they seek love.

It's main Abilities consist of Flame Body and Sap Sipper, while it's Hidden Ability is Poison Point. It still learns a few Electric-type attacks, albeit, not as much as their Unovan counterparts.

  • Celadon City, Kanto.

Though the local variant of Grimer and Muk has been practically erradicated and/or replaced by the Alolan variant, there lurks a greater menace underground - Kantonian Tandemaus and Maushold. They have mutated on account of decades of untreated waste, and keep polluting the city even now. Unlike their Paldean counterparts, they are mostly nocturnal; they come out of their nests at night to feast on the city's waste and take some of the grime back to their homes. Kantonian Maushold in particular multiply faster than their Paldean counterparts, with some being accompanied by as many as seven "children." They are particularly hard to erradicate even with Water- and/or Psychic-types at hand; rumour has it that the city council has devised a contingency plan to trigger a massive Earthquake in the city in the event that spawns of these Pokémon become uncontrollable.

    Mt. Pyre, Hoenn.

Competition for food in the region's mountain gravesite against Vulpix has resulted in the Growlithes undergoing a great spiritual awakening on the very verge of death after weeks of starvation. It does this by devouring a weakened Duskull or Shuppet.

Unlike Greavard, these spectral dog Pokémon do not unintentionally or deliberately absorb the life force of people, though their roars have the ability to make the human spirit feel very unsettled, resulting in years of insomnia with continuous nightmares of their worst fears.

Hoennian Growlithe evolves into Arcanine with the use of a Dusk Stone. It may even gain the Dark-type under very specific circumstances or sheer luck, like getting a Dudunsparce with three segments.

Hoennian Growlithe and Arcanine's Abilities consist of Intimidate and Frisk. Their Hidden Ability is Pressure.

  • Route 21, Unova.

Considered one of the most intelligent Pokémon alongside the likes of Alakazam, this variant of Finizen is capable of comunicating with humans and other Pokémon through long-distance telepathy. It is speculated to have come from the same region as Quaxly and its evolutions, hence its peculiar pink color and easy-going personality, but more research is needed to determine its origins.

Unovan Finizen does not evolve into Palafin, but rather into the more Special Attack-oriented Proffin, if three or more Pokémon with Abilities unique to themselves are in the party. Proffin has much less developed muscles than its Paldean counterpart, but its extraordinary psychic powers more than make up for it. Proffin is also noted for its kindness and its protective instincts. It takes in Pokémon that have been cast out due to being unusual in some way, and helps them grow into the best versions of themselves, not very unlike Pokémon Trainers or, you guessed well, Professors. In battle, it also uses its psychic powers to intercept attacks directed at its teammates before they even fire, if Proffin even allows them to fire at all. Fittingly, its ability, Brain Block, makes offensive moves directed at its teammates more likely to fail, especially if they are super-effective.

    Dusty Bowl, Wild Area, Galar.

The frequency of thunderstorms across Galar throughout the past few years have led to an odd mutation of the newly discovered Capsakid populations upon evolution. Rather than gaining the Fire-type, the Scovillains of Galar, instead, gain the added Electric-type as a result of absorbing electricity from the storm-affected grounds of the region.

The blue head that appears in place of the spicy red head seems to be in a constant state of calm brainstorming, which is said to be the source of it's newly acquired electrical powers. It has a very dry taste, although it will always inflict permanent paralysis onto those who carelessly take a bite off of it.

The green head has a much happier demeanour, as if it was happy to be relieved of it's genetic fiery properties, although this cannot be confirmed definitively just yet.

Galarian Scovillain has Chlorophyll and Static as its main Abilities. Their Hidden Ability, just like their Paldean counterparts, is Moody. Capsakid evolve into this variant upon levelling up during a Thunderstorm.

  • The fields around Alfornada & Alfornada Cavern, Paldea.

Paldean Wooper struggled to climb up to Alfornada and was in constant fights with the Pokemon living there who wanted them gone. Some Meditite took pity on them and helped them awaken and hone their Psychic powers underneath the waterfall.
Once they obtained their Psychic powers the Paldean Woopers started using them to levitate to the top of the cavern. Once at the top, they headed for the cliff side and jumped down in the water. Paldean Wooper wanting to take a dive from up high was the original reason they started heading here. These Wooper can be found continuously traveling up and down in very high spirits.
The subspecies of Paldean Wooper found around Alfornado are referred to as Alfornadan Wooper. Alfornadan Wooper evolve into a different form of Clodsire, which is longer and covered in some sort of protective fluid.

Their abilities are Levitate & Adaptability. It's HA is Corrosion.

    Ten Carat Hill in Alola.

Buzzed around the farthest hollow as normal Volbeats. Encountered Necrozma there, one fateful day. Stole all their light. Gifted them a similar ability in doing so, however.

Acquired the ability to create darkness around itself. Causes any who enter it to feel a little dizzy. Recommends some sunlight to anyone afflicted by this. Typically recovers in a matter of seconds.

  • Navel Rock, Sevii Islands, Kanto.

Long ago many 'swords and shields' from Kalos were stored here, in preparation for an attack on Kanto's government by a group of radicals who opposed the idea of people living alongside Pokemon. The radicals were apprehended before they could do anything and their 'swords and shields' have been neglected and gathering dust here ever since. Ironically the radicals didn't even know they would've been using Pokemon to fight.

The Aegislash adapted to their surroundings and let go of heir scabbards and shields, inserting themselves into rocks and boulders, waiting for someone to come along and pull them out. Due to how remote Naval Rock is, rarely anybody ever does.
It won't allow just anyone to pull it from it's rock. The prey needs to be very vigorous, so that Aegislash can gain plenty sustenance from it while it forces it to do it's bidding.

    Route 111, Hoenn.

Fierce competition for food against Numel, Sandshrew and Trapinch have forced the Dedenne of Hoenn to adapt themselves to the harsh sandy environments formed by unrelenting sandstorms. Their fur has changed into the colour of sand to allow them to blend perfectly within vast dunes of sand.

However, this adaptation has resulted in most of their electrical abilities becoming dormant, leaving the Hoennian Dedennes with another problem; becoming the easily overwhelmed and delicious prey of Skarmorys that do fly by the desert section in search for berries. Though they are able to avoid most confrontations, there is inevitably one instance where a Skarmory uses it's keenest eyesight to spot even the best Dedenne and swoop in for an easy kill with it's Steel Wing attack.

If looked after well, Hoennian Dedenne may even evolve into another newly discovered PikaClone evolution; Sandenne. Like the Pawmi evolutions and Dudunsparce in Paldea, Sandenne looks no less different than its pre-evolved form.

Hoennian Dedenne and Sandenne have Cheek Pouch and Pickup as their main Abilities, much like their Kalosian relatives. Their Hidden Ability, however, is Sand Veil.

  • Glimwood Tangle, Galar.

Living in this dark barely illuminated area has made Meowscarada focus more on entertaining others than fooling them to defeat them.
It's forgotten Flower Trick and developed a new signature move: Flower Surprise. Flower Surprise also never misses, but instead of always critting it will either lower the opponent's Attack and Sp. Attack harshly if used on an enemy, or heal the target by half it's HP if used on an ally. In other words: it's flowers either restore vigor to it's allies or reduce an opponent's desire to fight. This attack has 80 base power and is a Special category Psychic type move.
Galarian Meowscarada has it's Attack and Sp. Attack swapped.

Galarian Meowscarada puts on shows for anyone passing through Glimwood Tangle, creating very pretty flower illusions in the air, almost akin to fireworks, but without the explosions. It also actively helps those who get lost and shows them the way out.
It's cape and mask have been replaced by vines that grow very colorful flowers around it's body. The flowers expel pure psychic energy.

    Rock Tunnel, Kanto

A rough exposure to the harsh geological conditions mixed with frequent electrical outbursts released by Zapdos, as well as the Voltorbs, Pikachus, and Magnemites that once inhabited the nearby Power Plant, have forced the Pyroar of Kanto to adapt by forgoing their fiery pride to thrive on electrical geology, though not all of them have successfully survived, largely due to an even more severe type disadvantage from the genetic overhaul when pitted into battle against the Cubones, Onixs and Geodudes that inhabit the cavern.

A perfectly healthy Pyroar that survives to this day is said to shine as brightly as the awesome divine might of Ultra Necrozma, blinding even those who stare at it's glow from a hundred mile radius.

Contrary to its Kalosian counterpart, it swaps its good Sp. Atk stat with its bad physical Attack stat. The only reason why it's not an apex predator in the wild is due to the abundance of Ground-types in the region. In addition to powerful STAB moves like Wild Charge and Stone Edge, it can also now learn Earthquake, Close Combat, Outrage, Play Rough, and Gunk Shot. Its Abilities consist of Dazzling and Intimidate. Moxie remains its Hidden Ability.

  • Inside Mt. Ember, One Island, Kanto. A group of Frigibax was set free here by poachers to avoid capture. They adapted to their surrounding and after evolving became the dominant species here.
They practice fighting with each other regularly to hone their skills. They deem themselves the protectors of the Moltres at the top of the mountain and will attack any who approach.

Kantonian Baxcalibur has almost no Sp. Attack and is considerably faster than it's Paldean brethren.
It still knows Glaive Rush, but can also learn Scorching Glaive. This attack is a 100 Power, 100% accurate Physical Fire type move that makes attacks from opposing Pokemon less likely to hit on the next turn. This move however only allows Glaive Rush to be used the next turn by Baxcalibur.

    Timeless Woods, Kitakami.

Orbeetle has a rough time in the lands of Kitakami, Johto and Kanto due to the abundance of Noctowls, a pack of Pawniard led by the recently discovered Kingambit, and/or the occasional undead malevolence of a wandering Blood Moon Ursaluna, forcing these Pokémon to forego corporeal forms to have a sliver of hope to survive.

Kitakamian Orbeetle are slower, but have higher Sp. Atk. Their main Abilities are Swarm and Keen Eye, while their Hidden Ability is Cursed Body.

  • Lost Hotel, Kalos.

Brought to Kalos by a guest of the Hotel long long ago, these Bronzong still await the return of their trainer. You can still hear them search the hotel for their trainer on a daily basis. They approach any trainers who enter and if you do not defeat them they will spirit you away.

Kalosian Bronzong swaps it's HA Heavy Metal for Perish Body, as well as swaps Heatproof for Wandering Spirit. Kalosian Bronzong swaps it's Attack with it's Defense and it's Sp. Attack with it's speed.

Route 20 in Kalos (the forest maze near Pokemon Village).

Needed guardians to protect the Pokemon Village. Fell to the Lanterns residing there. Uses their bioluminescence to lure would-be intruders away. Worked on threats near the water, but not the land. Ventured further and further onto land to draw those threats away. Slowly adapted to the amphibious lifestyle.

Grew more mischievous as safety increased. Pulled small pranks on travelers more and more. Delights in directing them into ponds, small pits, and irate Trevenants.

  • Stark Mountain, Sinnoh.

Several Orthworm were used as ammo and were flung at Corviknight by Tinkaton. The Orthworm that missed their target flew all the way from Paldea to Sinnoh, landing at Stark Mountain.
They were forced to adapt to the local environment in order to defend themselves against the local Pokemon. The local Skarmory and Camerupt took a liking to Orthworm and started helping them out. After years of Camerupt shooting Orthworm into the sky by erupting, and Skarmory catching it in the air, they eventually adapted the Dragon type.

Sinnohian Orthworm have higher Attack and Sp. Defense than their Paldea relatives, but are very slow. They have a signature move; Earthworm Ascent. A 110 Power, 100% accurate, 10 PP Dragon type move that lowers the user's speed by one stage.
