The second bug pokemon club

Paul, I think you took this the wrong way. The punctuation (or lack of it) makes it sound questionable if you think of it in a sick way.
I'm pretty sure what he meant was, "I'm in (the club), ryan. I'm in like its a sin." It was just a way of announcing that he was joining. I know BeameR and he wouldn't say something like that (at least not in a post... maybe on AIM).

BeameR deleted his post, didn't he? <_<;

Anyway, back on topic, whether that be about real bugs or merely bug pokemon. I have no idea what to say at this point, the two of you are the expert etymologists here.

I guess he did... even though nothing was really bad about it. *Shrugs*
Anyway... umm... let's open up a discussion about what the greatest bug themed team would consist of. A team of 6 bug types that could completely own... what would you put on it?

Hmm...excellent topic, ryan; I've considered it, and come to the following conclusion:

Beedrill-Overshadowed by Butterfree. I used it for the first half of Leafgreen and it definitely earned its keep. It's also one of my favorite pokemon stylistically, and has always been the "nasty surprise in a tree" pokemon of choice in the anime.

Venomoth-In honor of my shining venomoth on leafgreen. I have always liked that it can use psychic attacks as well.

Shuckle-My favorite pokemon, and the only pokemon I've selectively bred and EV trained to level 100. Also in my favorite episode of the anime.

Forretress-One of the pokemon I was most fascinated with when GS was new; though it proved to be tricky in battle I've always loved the way it looks; and that the anime was merciful enough to give Brock one, a surprising move in a time where they only allowed popular pokemon.

Heracross-Despite Ash owning one, I always enjoyed the thrill of the hunt of searching for one in GS. I''m sure I had to headbutt a thousand trees before I found one, and even then, it ran almost every time I attempted to catch one. It was also the first bug to know Megahorn; and its fighting skills were always invaluable to me whenever I used it.

Shedinja-One of the most creative pokemon; between the way it's acquired, its HP, and Wonder Guard, it's without equal in its usefulness. I'm also a fan of the way it looks.

Whoa there... Scyther's been on my list of favorites since red/blue version... The "S" in rsgh5 stood for "Scyther." Scyther can be used very effectively and it's a tough catch. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the use of Scyther. If I made a bug only team it would look like:

Heracross
Ledian
Forretress
Shedinja
Parasect (funny mushroom pokemon, you can't not have one)
Ariados

Hmm... so I guess I wouldn't use scyther... But I still like it a lot. I'd rather have a Ledian on my team than a Scyther, and I'd rather have a Forretress than a Scizor.

Last night I was dashing about that one part of 6 island where there are a ton of bug types (I forget what it's called). I was looking for shiny bugs. Any opinion on which bug looks best in shiny form??

Pattern bush, you mean?

I didn't mean to offend you about Scyther, it's just that too many people like it for me to...admittedly when GS was new I had a huge obsession with Scizor and used Jungle Scyther in all of my TCG decks. The problem is, it was the same way with all other pokemon fans and I just didn't realize it...and the ardent forgotten pokemon fan that I am wouldn't let me keep on liking it after that...it is admittedly a devastating creature, though.

The only shining bugs I can picture are Venonat and Venomoth, because I have captured them. They're not that spectacular, but I'm sure there are some shining bugs that are.

These are the bug pokemon that look best in shiny form (in my opinion):

As I dash about Pattern Brush, I hope that when I find a shiny it's Spinark. It looks pretty awesome all dark blue. With some shiny bugs you can barely tell that there's any difference at all:
*pokemonelite2000 image removed*vs.*pokemonelite2000 image removed*
(Weird break there... but ya, I can barely tell which is the shiny...)

I've always had to be sharp, because for every shiny that is a different color, there is one that is very similar to its regular counterpart. The only shiny pokemon I have on RSEFRLG are Linoone and Venomoth. (caught within twenty-four hours of each other after two years of no success, actually.) I only have the Linoone because I captured the Zigzagoon on a whim without realizing it was shiny. I was VERY fortunate as far as that went. I was easily tipped off to the Venonat, however, its blue eyes were an instant giveaway.

What? You're lucky... I spend time trying to get shinies, and you randomly find two without trying... Garr... Well, at least Shiny Gengar is cooler than a Shiny Linoone. (I have to make myself feel like I didn't get totally ripped off on shiny luck, even if it means being cruel to Kaga's shiny collection. I am a detestable person, I know.)
What's the next topic for discussion among bug club people? Actually, Paul's fan fic made me think about Yanma, what's a good moveset for one? (Take this topic or create a different one to set us on).

I've only found ONE shiny EVER ;____;

And that was golbat in Crystal~ But my games dead now. The cart died.
