The State of Rom Hacking

Your statement quite literally makes no sense.. Why are you encouraging us to not advance in hacking? Like everything else in life, people learn more and more about the area they're studying in, and, in my opinion, that is the whole point of GBA hacking. Hacking is not about having low quality games with minimal effort put in, it's about having a community such as this and sharing each other's knowledge in order to improve. Aside from that, I want quoted evidence of a "higher up" hating on someone else's hack without giving advice on how to improve. I suggest asking questions and learning more about the community first before you make assumptions, or at least, once you have more than 6 posts.

A few years ago I posted "The State Of Rom Hacking". Fast forward years later and it stands that everything I stated was correct. The Rom Hacking Community is Dead.
Elitist refused to give actual support to newcomers of the community.

You're completely right, and anyone could have seen it coming. Just go look at the Follow Me thread. For years, GoGoJJTech and DaniilS have chastised and chased away every person who has tried to contribute. At first I thought GoGo was just extremely pretentious and wanting to take credit for "figuring it out" (which he didn't, by the way)...but then his even more pathetic motive came to light: he didn't want anyone else figuring it out so he could try to make money off of it. That sums up what the hacking community has become.

This is bait but I'm hungry. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

Please link me three posts of me and daniilS telling others "don't contribute" or another post along the lines. It has been a absolutely years so you should have no trouble, right?

Again, show me where I said "I did this" or "I figured it out"
Touched made the follow me code that is present in Pokémon Platinum Red, and the code is online at https://github.com/Touched/FollowMe if you actually want it.

Once again, show me where I said "I don't want anyone else to do it so I can make money from this" or even showed that. The only thing I've ever tried to make money off of from this community was private work for Pokémon Discovery, which was, well, private. Apparently the creator decided to publicize it (and I don't really care because why should I) but I don't understand how you're taking that private work and applying it to follow me. The code is obviously available (and has been available for nearly two years now) at https://github.com/Touched/FollowMe
btw the link is https://github.com/Touched/FollowMe

And if you never answer I'd like someone else who agrees with you to answer for you. Have a nice day :)
BTW thanks for posting today, perfect timing, today was my day off! Woo!

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!

I don't know about the money talks, but most people who asked for updates/asked for it to be worked on were generally chased away with, "if you don't like it make it yourself". I personally don't like that attitude, but I don't think it could be attributed to Gogo specifically.

The only thing Gogo is guilty of is keeping a majority things she does closed source and private and that is her right to do so. Besides, you don't wanna see the spaghetti code she makes :^)

But the follow me that you linked is more like a, "follow me only on this map without ledges and much further interaction". I'm pretty sure it bugs if you have an NPC with a certain movement behavior as well. While we had the opportunity to complete the follow me to be fully functional, there were issues with motivation and such which prevented us from completing it. As far as I see it, the problem is solved and all that remains to be done is actually doing the less difficult parts which end up being implementation specific.

User above revived this thread and this conversation is only going to go one way so I'm just going to close this thread now. :))))
