Flying Ultimate Monotype
Ruby Update #1

Started off with Treeko and I've kept him around so far because he knows Cut and Flash now
- Caught Paulina the Wingull
- Caught Swole the Taillow
- Cleared Petalburg Woods
- Took on Roxanne with Paulina and Water Gun
- Retrieved Devon Goods
- Caught Zigzagoon to be an HM Slave
- Met up with Mr. Briney and went to Dewford
- Defeated Brawley with Wing Attacks from both Swole and Paulina
- Delivered the Letter to Steven and the Package to Stern in Slateport
- Cleared the Museum of Team Magma
- Stopped by the Trick House and beat May on the way to Mauville
- Beat the Winstrates and all the available trainers
- Cleared Watson's Gym Trainers
- Currently repeatedly getting my ass handed to me by Watson

I think I'm going to have to grind a bit. Endeavor with Swole in the red is not cutting it even after a Water Gun from Paulina. Shock Wave 1 shots both at full health.
ANY IDEAS ON HOW TF I COULD BEAT WATSON WOULD BE WELCOMED

CURRENT TEAM
Spoiler:

@hisalness56
You could catch a Nincada train it to LV19 and defeat Watson quite easily I believe you can do it since Ninjask is part Flying..actually if you want to train Ninjask it isn't really bad since in my MonoBug it was my life saver xD
OR you could train a Gyarados to LV25 and spamming Dragon Rage since its Base Special Defense is 100 it should resist to 1 Shock Wave xD

I' d like to sign-up for a Psychic Monotype but I won't play until I finish my monoFire on White 2 xD

Dark Update 3: Platinum 4/8

I have an update for Platinum. I currently saved at Pastoria City after some serious grinding, I think I'm ready for Pastoria Gym.
I also had a lot of good luck at Veilstone Game Corner, I made enough coins to buy 2 Psychics, 1 Flamethrower and 4 Wide Lenses. :)

Man, I remember doing this all the time as a kid on Red/Blue. XD Should be fun to try this again with more knowledge. : )

Username: PekoponTAS
Type: Normal (Because Normal types are my favourite)
Challenge: Ultimate
Games: FireRed, HeartGold, Ruby, Platinum, White 2

I actually had two questions. The rules state you can only use Pokemon of a certain Pokedex, but in the case of HeartGold half of the game takes place after you get the National Dex. What I'm wondering is if I'd be allowed to catch a Zangoose so long as it's after the Johto Elite Four? That would make things a lot more fun since Zangoose is one of my favourite normal types, and the only other games I could get him in pre-national dex is Ruby where he's no good, and towards the very end of Black 2. : (

The other question is if I sign up for single, but later decide to do the other games as well, does this HeartGold run apply to the ultimate?

Bug Monotype Single Run (SoulSilver): Update #2

Log:

- Climbed down the Slowpoke Well
- Defeated all of Team Rocket, including Admin Proton (Ledyba evolved into Ledian after the admin battle)
- Kurt escorted me to his house, where he gave made me a Fast Ball in exchange for an apricorn
- Left his house, and headed out to the Ilex Forest (I returned there to see if I could get Headbutt; I need it to get my other two party pokemon.)
- Rival Kondumb challenges me, I beat him mercilessly.
- Entered the Ilex Forest, and rounded up the two Farfetch'd.
- Realizing I needed the Hive Badge to use HM01, I left the forest and headed to the gym.
- Defeated all the gym trainers, and challenged Bugsy.
- Defeated Bugsy.
(Rating: 1.75/5)
- Exited the gym, and went back to the Ilex Forest.
- Cut down the necessary trees and taught Ledian Headbutt via move tutor
- Headbutted about 39 trees - only finding Hoothoot, to my dismay.
- Made my way through the forest empty-handed.
- Followed the rest of the route up to Goldenrod City
- Healed up, then went to the Game Corner
- Played Voltorb flip for a couple hours, getting enough coins to buy a Wide Lens, and TM 75 (Swords Dance)
- Exited and went to the Radio Tower to find Whitney
- Passed the quiz with ease, sending Whitney back to the gym
- Left the tower and went north up to Route 35
- Spent approximately 27 years finding a Yanma
- Eventually caught one; female
- Grinded the Yanma up 7 levels to catch it up with the rest of the team (Lv. 21)
- Returned to Goldenrod and went straight to the gym
- Defeated all the gym trainers, then took on Whitney.
- Defeated Whitney on the second try
(Rating: 3.75/5)
- Got the Squirtbottle next door
- Went to the Dept. Store and bought TM 52 (Focus Blast); taught it to Ledian
- Left the Dept. Store
- Headed up to the Pokeathlon Dome to see "what's up" over there
- Did a Jump Course with Ledian, Yanma, and Paras
- Won the course barely - due to doing terribly on the last game. (It's difficult on an emulator)
- Left the pokeathlon dome, then went to the National Park.
- Didn't stay long; exited east.
- Used a squirtbottle on the blocking Sudowoodo
- Defeated it after it attacked. (Paras evolved into Parasect)
- Headed North to Ecruteak city, and saved.

Grass monotype SS Update: 1

- Picked cyndaquil as starter
- hacked in an Oddish (as the happy birthday event) and used that as my starter
- stored my lvl 6 cyndaquil in the PC
- made my way to the first gym city
- caught a bellsprout at lvl 6 then also went to the route just under the first city and caught a lvl 6 (IIRC) hoppip.
-went through the bellsprout tower and then grinded all 3 of my pokemon to lvl 10-13
- went to the first gym and cleared it out (the trainers) then healed up and went at falkner
-the battle started with my bellsprout putting his pidgey to sleep and then beating with hit after hit vine whip (lol) he woke up eventually and injured my bellsprout I put him asleep again and switched to my oddish who was lvl 14 (IIRC) and finished the pidgey off in one acid attack
- now it was my oddish vs his pidgeotto; we went right at it trading acid and gust respectively. my first acid got his HP down to 2/3 and his gust got me down to 30% but I lucked out big time with my last acid and got a crit and knocked him out without him using his potions at all or using roost even once.
-battled my way the second gym city (sorry I can't remember the name of the cities)
-cleared the slowpoke cave and then went to ilex (spelling?) forest and battled silver and of course won again used a strat of sleep/paralyze absorb/vine whip/acid. I paralyzed his croconaw with my hoppip and switched to my oddish and absorbed it to death he could not damage my faster than I could heal.
- Entered Ilex forest and did the mini Q for cut.
- Caught a second oddish my plan is to turn my first one into bellossom and have that one focus on grass type moves and then evolve my second knew one into a vileplume and have it focus on poison moves.
- Went back to the city healed up and saved, wrote this and then went to bed :3

-notes-
- Today is friday and I happened to stumble upon that guy near union cave who give out the poison barb I plan to give that to vileplume and then the miracle seed to bellossom.

-Team so far- (I would do pretty sprites but I don't know how :P)

Oddish lvl 20
acid/absorb/sweet scent/sleep powder

Bellsprout lvl 17
Vine whip/poison powder/wrap/sleep powder

Hip-hop hoppip lvl 16

-Surfing now to the next City
Spoiler:

Tis update time for Normal UMC on White 2

  • Went through some intense training, getting Sadman to Lv. 18, Floter to Lv. 20, and Lenora to Lv. 19
  • Used the key transfer thing to get the Challenge Key on White 2
  • Enabled Challenge Mode and took on Roxie, surprisingly beating her on the first try, but wasting some items in the process
  • Got dragged over to Pokestar Studios and did things there
  • Took care of Team Plasma in Virbank City and that one on Route 20
  • But, along the way, Floter evolved into Tranquill. I seriously thought it evolved at the same level as Starly :P
  • Headed to Castelia City
  • Went hunting for Team Plasma
  • Headed down to Castelia Sewers and teamed up with Josh to own two Team Plasma grunts
  • And, Lenora finally evolved! Progress at last!
  • Encountered Colress, the best character in the game after Josh gave me HM04
  • About time, a better move for Sadman
  • Until I realized that only Lenora can learn it, so I guess Lenora's getting Strength.
  • Anyway, after all of that, I headed to Castelia City's gym
  • Took down Burgh
  • Went and faced off with Colress, the best character in the game
  • Saved on Route 4

Update #2
Type: Bug
Game: Fire Red
Gyms: 8

Evolved Nidorino at Lv 25. Levelled all to Lv 28 to take on Lt. Surge. Beat his gym with Arbok and Beedrill. Added Voltorb to the list purely for Flash. Ivysaur evolved in Rock Tunnel.

As I had a few days off the game, I can't remember the levels my Pokemon were when I beat the other gyms.
However, after beating the elite 4 my levels are as follows;
Beedrill Lv56
Nidoking Lv57
Arbok Lv56
Venusaur Lv58

@NecrumWarrior - I've just finished my Poison Kanto region and am moving onto Johto. I'm just wondering if I'll be alright to use the Liquid Crystal ROM? I know it mentions using hack ROMs in the OP but I'm not too sure with this hack as it's still the Crystal map but with the addition of Orange Islands.

Grass monotype SS Update: 2

- Entered Bug Gym cleared it out then healed up and then challenged the Gym Leader the first time I got wrecked :P

- Challenged him again this time the rolls actually worked in my favor. I started it off with my bellsprout and he just one hit KO'd it with U-turn right away. I then sent out my oddish and he sent out a metapod, I put it to sleep and spammed acid at it he healed it with a potion I KO'd it. he then sent out scyther; I used sleep powder he used leer and so I luckily put him to sleep and then spammed acid he used a barry but after about 4 turns I took him down then mopped up the last kukuna with acid again lol.

- My starter Oddish hit LVL 21 in that battle and evolved into a gloom.

- Healed up and cut through Illex forest fighting and leveling my new oddish along the way.

- cleared my way to the 3rd Gym city and healed up and right away went to the national park. It's saturday so I joined the bug catching contest I went out and caught a venonat by putting it to sleep and spamming sport balls w/o damaging it. I won the contest with a score of 390 (IIRC) and got the sun stone I then walked around the and caught a sunkern.

- Went to the Gym cleared out the Gym trainers and my oddish evolved into a gloom.

- Left and cleared the national park and the the underground area where the haircut (?) brothers are.

- I then went and challenged whitney and one on my first attempt. I sent out my bellsprout and lowered the clefairy's HP to the red then whitney wasted he potion on it then it KO'd my bellsprout. I sent out my gloom and spammed acid and took the clefairy out. I then switched to Bellossom and I put the miltank to sleep it used a barry to wake up I then put it to sleep again. Then I started to spam mega drain to regain my lost HP my first two did normal damage but my 3rd one pulled a crit and took out miltank just as it woke up from sleep. (nothing but luck lol)

- Grinded hoppip in route 34 for one level to LVL 18 and it evolved into skiploom.

- Went to play some pokethlon. (or whatever it's called lol)
