I missed Blue Moon too. Somebody make another game I wanna play ;_;

If VIP 4 and Gotham end soon, we'll have Tokyo Ghoul and World of Ice and Fire starting before long. :O

Worry not, for Sansa yet lives

idk why I thought April. You're probably right and I'm too lazy to look at my thread history.

It probably takes about ~4 months to get through the queue, but if games finish every month, as is estimated, things go much quicker.

I was wondering if you could make sign ups for highly hyped games (especially small ones) by saying sign-up is open for X hours and then the GM will rng which 20 people of all who want to join.

tltr: I'm suggesting to use rng instead of first come first serve in sign-ups.

Screw it, just put a game up now.

What the heck is Tokyo Ghoul?

I second this. Some of us can't be around 24/7 and games fill up way too fast, it really isn't fair. After all, some of us have lives you know.

id say im neutral at that point coz ive missed 2-3 signups because timezones, but then what if i joined first but i didnt get to be picked in the rng? both have pros and cons tho

But then how soon do GMs start doing pre-sign up? And we would run into the same issue of timezones when the GM announces they are taking pre-sign ups?

I've also missed a few games due to not checking PC for a day or being asleep, though I think each time was for one of the smaller games so it would make sense that those fill up faster. I agree that both would have pros and cons, neither being truly "fair".

Maybe rather than making a game a specific size and allowing only a small group of people to join (or in the case of large games, waiting to get enough participation) there could be some way for the GM to see how many people would be interested in joining it so that they can build the game to roughly fit that amount. Of course, some people who initially said they would want to play might decide not to as the game starts, or we might get someone new to UG who wasn't here for the initial polling but wants to join. So the GM just needs to have a handful of vanilla characters (oh no, not the dreaded 'nilla role!) to allow additional people to play, or as a buffer if not enough people signed up. This might require waaay too many polls though, and we'd turn into a subforum that takes polls and occasionally plays Mafia :p

But with that, we'd still run in to the first come first serve issue if everyone wants to join and PMs the GM. Unless the games sizes are dynamic, which they can't be to some extent due to the small/large queues, some people will get left out.

im pretty sure with the current setup that we have, it would be impossible to reach a better alternative to the first come first serve thing
