No game is complete without a score of music to go with it, right? How does X and Y's music compare to the rest of the series' music? What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it? Favorite pieces of music?

    **** like that.

Hmm...well, to be honest, the OST for X and Y doesn't really strike any chords with me - not even the remixes of some of the classic tracks. It's serviceable, but it's not memorable; it doesn't grab my attention and make me want to listen to it outside of playing the game. I've heard worse, but I've heard a lot better.

That said, it's of very good quality in the sound department - I WAS impressed by the 3DS' ability to replicate a full orchestra...although I suppose that's more due to the hardware than the game, aha. Favourite track is probably Route 4...I dunno why. It just makes me want to march. xD

I'd say X/Y's soundtrack is the opposite of R/S/E's - lousy melodies, but great composition.

I honestly thought it was a decent Pokemon soundtrack. I did get a kick out of some of the themes. For example the X and Y Legendary Battle and the Kanto Legends theme. I suspected this just to be a test for how they were going to use the new 3DS soundfonts. I suspect that they can do much better in future games.i loved the amazing High Quality version they gave to Jubilife City and N's Theme in X and Y. That proved to me that they can make much better quality music with the new possibilities open to them.

    Pfffffffffffffffffftht

Vs Champion: I whistle this tune all the time, even played it at band practice once.

Cyllage City: And this is just some downright catchy jazz fusion here. So funky. All the hooks. Dat bass. I could jam this for hours.

Some tracks are good, like Lysandre's battle theme and the champion theme, most are forgettable, and I'm not fond of the wild battle theme or trainer battle theme. It's all instruments, no real melody to go along with them, and the wild battle theme has elements of Pokemon Black/White's wild battle theme. Instruments are important, but you can't have a song comprised of instrument sounds and expect it to be good.

I absolutely love the title theme, just a really good remix and a fantastic way to get you in the mood to start an adventure :)

Also, the music on Route 7, purely because it's the most memorable to me (I spent a LOT of time hatching eggs for my team lol) xD

Yes, the breeding takes me to the Route 7 forever.

I still prefer the OST from BW. Nothing can compare to Team Plasma theme.

Anyway, my favorite from X/Y is Lavarre City's theme.

champ ion theme was the bes lol

No, really, it was! Themes as important as this are meant to have you feel hyped, pumped, and so forth, and this song was seemingly able to do just that without much trouble at all.

Oy, that Route 7 music is something I'm gonna have a hard time forgetting because, like Xtina, SO MUCH BREEDING.

Sorry this is off-topic but I just wanted to say thank you for fixing my videos! I couldn't understand why it kept giving me errors lol :)

Of all the themes in the game, my favorite would be the Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde battle theme, no question. It's just so mind-blowingly phenomenal and easily goes up as one of my favorite tracks in the whole series, almost makes me wish I didn't have to catch them. As far as the music in XY goes, NOTHING comes close to it.

Whew, I don't know if I'd go that far. Route 22 from R/B/Y hits me in the childhood so hard that I get all misty-eyed just thinking about the melody.

I think the OST of this game is very inequal.

Some tracks stick to your head, like Lumiose City or the Bicycle theme.

Some others are really poor, like the Wild Battle theme, which I find to be one of the worst in the Pokemon series.

The whole orchestra idea was welcomed, but the writing was sometimes poor. I even thought some parts were annoying, like the third part of the Trainer Battle theme. When you have the urge to turn down the volume, you know there's something wrong.

I kinda agree, but I also think that it's pretty common for gaming soundtracks to be a bit "unequal". I don't think that there's ever been a game I've played where I liked all or almost all of the music. IDK if you can really like all the music a game has.

The title theme I love because of the adventurous feel that comes with it. Another personal fave of mine has to be the Diantha theme, and also the Route 15 theme.

The former has a very majestic sound which suits her perfectly while the latter is very powerful yet emotional and shows how far you've come. The Route 4-7 theme is also nice and peppy, and of course I know how popular Route 7 is with breeders because they hear the nice music while hatching the egg.
