The Young Jedi Knights RP: Jedi Academy

Shinin looked at the fault. "I know what to do, it is obvious." he said. He closed his eyes, opened them again, and jumped across it. "You have to use the force to jump across it."
 
I walked along silently, with a male twi-lek who kept as quiet as I did. I rather liked him, for a meatbag. Once we reached the lake, we circled it with no problems, yet when we were supposed to go through it, I spoke up. "I do not have the required buoyancy to float. You swim across, and I will meet you on the other side." He looked at me for a moment, then nodded silently. He walked until the water level was up to his chest, and began swimming. I adjusted the settings on my mounted blaster to function underwater, and began walking towards the other side of the lake, eventually submerging...
 
Shinin looked at the lake. He took out his A99 aquata breather and went into it. There were a lot of fish, some looked dangerous. He swam across. When he got to the other side, he put his breather back into his pocket. He was now very wet, which annoyed him a little.
 
"I think that guy back there is right, we need to use our force powers to jump over." I told JB, RU12 translating as usual.

I looked at the chasm once more. I could probably make it without using the force but I wasn't taking any chances.

"Use your powers to help me as well. With both of us helping, we will be able to make it easily but still jump as far as you can, we don't know how much of our powers we will need later on." I told him.

I took a running start and leaped over the gap as far as I could. I looked as if I wasn't going to make it but my powers helped keep me up and JB gave me the boost I needed to get over. I landed with a thud as JB pulled away his mind a little too soon. I watched as JB took a run at the fault and took his leap of faith. Although he didn't have the strength in his legs to propel himself as far as I did, his weight was much less than mine so he got about as far as I did before I helped him with my mind.

Once we were both over we took up running again. We got to the lake and circled it once, now we needed to swim. I would have rathered not to get wet but my powers were not yet advanced to float me across the water. I waded it and it wasn't cold, not for me anyway, my thick fur keeping me warm.

"Excuse me Master Yon but I am not water-proof. My internal system will be fried if I get wet." RU12 said in his unchanging voice.

I thought about his problem and then thought of a solution. I placed him on my head and using my fur, tied him down. It hurt my scalp a bit but not much. I started to swim but wasn't as fast as JB because my fur and large size weighed me down. I kept my head above water as much as possible so that RU12 didn't get any water on him. I succedded getting across the lake with my electronic friend still working. I took him off my head and untied my hair, making my head feel much better. I clipped him back on my belt and we continued.
 
OOC: Where are we? I've lost track...
 
OOC: we were just at a chasm which we need to jump over and now we are going through a lake.
 
OOC: Ummm... More specific?
 
OOC: Most (?) of us are in Fitness right now, going on a course marked by Tenel Ka's instructions. Read my last post to get an idea of what is expected.

IC: Before Nat could give her an answer, a lizard-like girl had grabbed Yukiko's arm, and pulled her towards the beginning of the course. Yukiko followed reluctantly at first, but simply accepted her fate, and hoped Nat would get a partner without a problem.

They dashed around the Temple and into the jungle at full tilt, Yukiko trying to ignore the heavy tunic and cloak she wore to shield herself from the rays of Yavin. Yukiko, being very sensative to light, ran blind through the jungle, using the Force as her guide to sense the obstacles before her.

At one point, the girl she had partnered with fell to the ground, and did not get back up. Yukiko found her unconcious body lying on the ground, and used to Force to see what the trouble was with her. Four perfect little punctures resided in her left foot. She had been bitten by a snake! Green blood oozed from between the scales on her feet. Yukiko sensed that she was only asleep however, and that there was no danger. She must have been bitten by a crystal snake.

Yukiko hoisted the girl over her shoulder, using the Force to help her carry the scal-armor plated girl with as much ease as possible. She reached out with her mind gently prodding hers to conciousness, hoping she wouldn't have to carry her much longer.

When they reached the lake, the girl woke, and thanked Yukiko for the help. She introduced herself as Rizarra, her bright yellow eyes warm with appreciation. Yukiko smiled, but it soon faded when she looked at the lake. Being from a planet made of frozen water, she did not know how to swim. Rizarra sensed her partner's discomfort, and asked her what was wrong.

"I...cannot swim..." Yukiko replied sheepishly, glad that the hood hid her embarassed face.

"I can help," Rizarra told her. "Hold on to the spikes on my back. I will ferry you across. They are not sharp, I assure you."

"Thankyou," Yukiko said kindly, as they went into the water.

Yukiko never imagined how wonderful the water could feel flowing around her. She had to admit that she enjoyed herself. Aiding Rizarra's strength with her own through the Force, they made it to the other side, and completed the course.

Panting hard, and under the weight of her soaked robes, Yukiko hoped no one would laugh. She thanked Rizarra once more, and sat down to watch the rest of her classmates finish.
 
OOC: Sorry, Skye! I've been kinda busy lately....

IC: I headed out with a mousey haired girl, after watching Yukiko be taken away by a lizard-like girl. Nat's long legs propelled her quickly, and she was surpirsed to see her partner could keep up.

Upon reaching the lake, they both swam across. Nat got caught by a water beast with abnormally long tenticals, but was saved by her partner, Jackie.

When the two reached the chasm, Nat felt the force rise within her. She took a couple of steps back, and leaped. She landed as she would have on the dance floor and looked back at Jakie, awaiting her to jump.

Jakie seemed reluctant, however. She called across the chasm, "I'm afraid! There doesn't seem to be an end to this!"

"Don't be scared!" Nat soothed, the force was still strong within her. "Jump! I'll help you across."

Nervously, Jackie launched herself over the chasm. In a flash of white light, Nat helped her clear it. This experience was quite draining, so thier pace to the finish had slowed a bit. She saw Yukiko and walked over.

"Hey!" she said, smiling slightly. "How did you guys fare?"
 
OOC: It's okay, Mew13...I totally understand! ^^

IC: "Oh..we did...all right," Yukiko said to Nat, continuing to drain her robes of water. :I really must get over my fear of water though...it's going to hinder me a lot."

She glanced back towards the lake with alopsided expression, hidden of course by her large hood. Tenel Ka had rounded up those who had finished. They were all sitting quietly in the grass, some of them meditating. Yukiko smiled at Nat, her aura eminating kindness as usual.

"I wonder if she'll make us run once up and down the outside steps of the Temple..." Yukiko said thoughtfully. She gazed at the many...many steps leading up to the top of the Temple. "It's the usual warm-down, you know. I just hate being soaked when I do it..."
 
Sitting in the grass, Nat began to stretch again. It was a habit of hers, and she did it when trying to calm down. She looked up the stairs. Piece of cake!

Hoping she wasn't out of line, Nat asked quietly, "Why do you wear that hood all the time?" She fiddled with the hem of her own robes, finding no comfort in thier stainless whiteness.
 
After finishing the course with Sonia, the girl decided to seek out her friends.
Rapidly, she wondered were they were, and was hoping that at least one of them would be in her own current class.
After saying a goodbye to Sonia (She wasn't feeling very well) the young girl scanned the area for signs of her companions, feeling a bit lonely, now that she had made some friends, and that they were currently 'gone'.
After a few, quick glances, Teyra simply gave up for the time being, and sat down, starting to meditate.
 
OOC: We can use our force powers!? Than why do we even need to be in the academy?

IC: When Yon and I finished we join the rest of our class. I walked over to Nat and said, hoping to bail her out of the stares, "How did you do? I see you finished before us."
 
"Oh..." Yukiko said to Nat, looking down at her long, heavy robes. "Well, as you've seen, I'm an albino. I'm really sensative to light, especially the ultra violet rays coming from Yavin."

She gestured towards the orange, gassy planet, her eyes squinting against its brightness. Sighing, she returned her attention to Nat.

"I get really bad burns if I am out in the daylight too long," she continued. "Eventually, I'll be able to use the Force to block the rays from my skin, but until then I have to wear these robes. Especially the hood. I don't really mind it though. I can ignore the heat well enough, and after living under furs upon furs on Hoth, these robes are really light!"

She grinned, despite herself. She was never really comfortable talking about her weaknesses, but Nat seemed accepting enough. Yukiko looked around her curiously, and saw Teyra meditating a little ways away.

"Proably shouldn't bother her," Yukiko decided for herself, her attention turning to Tenel Ka. Most of the students had returned by now, and were seated along with Nat and Yukiko in the grass.

OOC: Excuse the double post, please!

Like many skills and abilities, Jedi need to train and hone their ability to use the Force. If you recall the fifth film, "The Empire Strikes Back," Luke went to Dagobah to study with Yoda. The Academy, headed by Luke, uses many of Yoda's teachings, and helps students gain strength and training in the ways of the Jedi.
 
Teyra opened her eyes again, deciding that she would try to look for Yukiko, or possibly someone else.
Standing up, the young Jedi gazed up at the trees, thinking of her homeplanet.

Unlike Yavin Four, Courousant had millions of silver, glittering buildings, with no trees, plants, or wild animals.
It also was a busy planet tightly bunched up, almost like a city, except tremendous in size, with a great amount of residents, most in the political parties and such...

She streched, and then turned on her heel, facing the rest of her fellow students.

As she looked around, she saw someone, a girl that looked remarkably like... Yukiko.
Hm... That is Yukiko! Teyra thought as she squinted, getting a better look at the girl, and seeing that it was Yukiko indeed. Now, Teyra started walking towards the other girl, shading her eyes as she did, from the immense light that shone down on all the students.
 
Nat nodded as Yikiko explained her robes. It was a fair explination. She once agian thought of home.

The sunlight was strong now, and Nat desperatly wished for a sheer dress like outfit that was summer atire on her planet. She also longed for the dance shoes that remained in her dorm room. Her feet felt almost naked without them.

JB then came over. She smiled and patted the ground next to her, inviting him to sit down. This was uncharactaristically outgoing of her. She looked to the sky. It was unusually blue here. The sky back home was almost always a dusty red from the war pollutants.
 
I flopped down on the ground beside her. "Well, this is a nice place...so far anyways. What do you have next? I have Meditation." I said looking around to watch and see what everyone else was doing.

I then turned back to Nat waiting for a reply, looking at the different characteristics of her body, since she was from a different planet.
 
Nat managed to stammar "I have meditation too." She noticed JB's eyes roaming over her body.

She mentally looked over herself as well. Her legs were long and thin, but really strong. This came from being a dancer. Her face was thin, as were her arms and torso. She figured this was from dancing also, but wasn't sure. Her skin was naturally very tan, and her feet and hands were tiny.

Feeling slightly uncomfortable, Nat tore her eyes away from JB. She looked around at all the students, her green eyes sparkling. The wind toyed with her short, black hair as she searched out the teachers. They seemed nowhere to be found.
