5th Gen Third Game Speculation

I think it would be funny if N did appear in the remakes, and says:
"Hi! I'm N, there's no real reason for me to be in this game, I'm just here 'cus the fans love me!"

Anyways, I think remakes first, the Grey.
On a new thing, how do you think they could fit Kyurem into grey's plot?
I think N would summon the R@ms, then Kyurem would turn up, and choose you to defeat them.
Any other ideas?

I know Genosect is an event. But what if the remakes do come first then the 3rd genosect could be part of the story. OK N gets one dragon you get the other you battle you win. But a further plot involving Geechisu sealing the dragons back in the orbs and he summons genosect and you have to get the ice dragon to defeat genosect. Also have a character thats obsessed with the ice dragon like eusine was with suicune

I'm hoping that Grey comes before remakes because I like to stay one region at a time. XD
What type of stone do you think Kyurem will have (Light stone, etc.)?

Also, while looking through some translations, I feel like a bit of the storyline in Black and White consists of people constantly talking about you being strong and the one to take down N. I hope they have less of that.

Do you think there will be a Distortion World-like dimension? I feel like N will summon his Reshiram and Zekrom, and Kyurem will appear and freeze the entire castle, while destroying some of it too. That way it creates a somewhat new place to explore.

...just try not to get too much into R/S remake discussion, guys. :(

On that note, Grey should come before R/S remakes, since well, HG/SS did, and that's what it should be following the pattern of. imo. :x
Well there really hasnt been a set pattern yet. I guess only time will tell. We also have the spinoff games in the time gap so that should clue us in even more. But thats not for awhile.

Meh, if they do make Kyurem the 3rd mascot for I still refuse to call it Gray, well first I expect a huge improvement in the pokemon, and second Im really, really hoping for a new world for it. Not a torn world like Giratina, but something having to do with its type. Maybe it has the ability to bring the world into absolute zero (everything frozen in time), but time is really Sinnohs forte.

I agree, that Kyurem has to do something, awesome and mind-blowing, which GF did with Black and White. Now they need to take a step even further though with Kyurem.

Im wondering should there be more cameos or should they just leave thee number as it is in the 3rd version?

I would assume the third game will be a normal DS game... idk. Hard to tell. I think the Hoenn remakes will be on the 3ds, but maybe the third game will stick to the DS B/W is on that console. It would be smart of them to upgrade it to 3ds though. Because bringing out a famous/popular game on an old console after then new console is out is a little unlikely .

I think the third game will be for the 3DS (it would also sell alot more copies), giving that the 3DS would have been out for around 1-2 years by then so why not, either that or they will release it on the normal DS and wait for the R/S remakes to be the first Pokémon games on the 3DS (not including spin-offs) then towards the end of 2011/12 or beginning of 2013, they will probally announce a R/S remake which will then go on to being released mid/late 2013 and early 2014 worldwide, it makes sence that all the other games have followed that similar pattern, either that or we will get a R/S remake sometime in 2013, who knows. However, back onto the third game topic, I'm unsure wheather it will be made for DS or 3DS, like I said, it would make sence if they wanted to put the R/S remake on a 3DS and just have Pokémon Grey on DS. Also, I wonder if, and I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, doubt this, that Team Mamga & Aqua will make an appearence in the 3rd game?

Anyway, heres a list of a few things I'd like to see in the third game

- Extra Areas, i.e Battle Frontier
- Gym Leader Animated Sprites & Different teams, possibly increased levels.
- VS. Seeker - Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen
- Pokémon following you, introduced in HG/SS, I have no idea why they didn't include this in B/W, wheather they wanted it just to originate in HG/SS, I don't know.

my bet is 3DS for it actually, but I would not be surprised to see that reserved for RSE remakes (assuming the 3rd game is not after said remakes). Which one comes first does remain to be seen, but my bet on that issue is rse remake comes out afterwards.

I do feel it is unlikely Magma/Aqua appear in the 3rd game myself. XD

And Vs Seeker would be indeed nice, or at least some rematch system of some kind. Pokemon Following you I feel is more likely to appear in an RSE remake, if ever.

Yeah, however having said that, there's said to be the Tabunne Exp method which is apparently a really good way to gain exp which seems reasonable but I still would like some rematch method, and it does seem more plausable for the Follow me feature to be in an R/S remake than the third game.

Here are my ideas for the third game:
-Give Victini and Kyerum a new forme
-Add a new story
-Give the characters a new outfit (e.g. a winter-outfit because Kyerum froze Unova :P)
-Add the oppostite gender in the game
-It needs to be more challenging, only the 2nd gym and the elite 4 were in B/W
-Add me as a NPC in the game
-Add the champions of the whole PokéWorld in the game to beat (Blue, Lance, Steven, Cynthia)
-Add some new Wi-Fi features please.

I just rememberd shortly before the release of BW pokejungle reported on a rumor that said there was gonna be an island that was seperated from the main region based on hawaii, now obviously it didnt happen but would it be nice to include it in the 3rd game? i figure you can get there via plane or boat. And i know people may say they wouldnt add an extra area toa 3rd game, but look at the battle frontier and the distortion world in platinum so they can do it. Unless there planing on including geeshu's story in the 6th gen this could be a nice area to wrap his story up maybe even battle the dark trinity.
It could be a resort island If they decied to put a battle frontier it could be on this islad, maybe get your own villa, have area where you can rebattle gym leaders.
And i was thinking realistcly wouldnt the pokemon leauge place be severely damaged after Ns castle came up from the ground and its bridges breaking a hole to the place? so i was thinking maybe the eliet four could be stationd there ( or maybe just in the spring and summer time) in a tropical stadium. Heck do we even know where the champion is from he could be from this island maybe your neigbor if you can get a villa there lol

In a sense, the rumor was true. Granted, it's not a "Pokemon-catching" island, but it has to do with trainer battles.

It's still rather unknown how it functions though.

True i guess, i wonder when there gonna release it. I just hope if the 3rd game is on the 3ds it utilizes the 2gb memory card.

3rd game will probably be on the DS, simply because it's cheaper and less time-consuming ( two factors which will net Nintendo more profit ) to make the third game using B/W codes as a "base". Why would they go through the trouble of reprogramming everything for Grey when they already have most of what they need in it's two parent games ( B/W )? Instead of creating a completely new game from the ground up, they'll do what they have always done and remake the same game with a bit of extra content. Maybe Grey will have some kind of 3DS enhancements, but from a developer standpoint I honestly cannot see how making Grey exclusively for the 3DS is a likely and/or strategic move.

And anyway, because they already have to remake RSE from the ground up simply so that it is compatible with today's system, that has more of a chance for being released on the 3DS.

eta: uggghhh omg i had being the page-topper.

But at the same time, can't you argue that an exclusive Pokémon game with brand new features, snazzy graphics and a high-quality soundtrack would be one hell of an incentive for people to look into picking up a 3DS, just in time for the system to start seeing price drops or lucrative bundle releases?

I've elaborated on this over in the RSE Remake Speculation thread, but I don't believe the third game will be on the DS because of it's timeframe. Both Emerald and Platinum took pretty much exactly 2 years to be released after their predecessors. Going by this timeframe we're looking at September ~ November 2012 in Japan.

That's well over one and a half years after the release of the 3DS, and in fact is almost parallel to the release dates of Ruby and Sapphire - the GBA was released in March 2001, followed by Ruby and Sapphire in November 2002 (In which case the roles are reversed - Game Freak went from an enhanced version of a GBC game to making a new game for the GBA, while here we're discussing going from creating a new game for the DS and enhancing / porting it over to the 3DS). On the subject of the GBA, the first-party support for that system (And most major GBA-exclusive games in general) pretty much dried up in the year after the DS's release (Pokémon Emerald beating the DS's release by a couple of months).

That's all true, and what GF has to realize is that they've come into a particularly odd situation that must be dealt with in the most efficient way possible. Something has to give, and by that I mean I a previous trend -- either fan-imagined or real -- will be broken. Are they going to create a division within a generation by placing the third game on a new system, or push back the debut of a new main series Pokemon game on the 3DS? The smartest move would be to go with the most lucrative option, which I believe is the latter, because the DS is an easier and cheaper system to develop for. And although Pokemon would be an IMMENSE incentive to buy a 3DS, I'm 19 years old ( lolol not 2 ) and can pay for it with my own money. A large number of the 3DS's demographic can not.

It's also worth noting that the DS isn't ( expected ) to die as quickly as previous systems have. Two years from now, I don't think all interest in the DS will have suddenly disappeared. Of course, that may not be the case, but that's why Masuda decided to put two generations onto the DS way back when DPPt was out.

I just can't see the harm in not having a Pokemon game on the 3DS for a few years. I think it can wait until B/W has finished what it started.
