5th Gen Third Game Speculation

It's also boring because N is one of their best written human characters since Silver because he had actual character development but still leaves with his own flaws and motivations at the end of the game. "But he was a Pokémon in disguise masterminding the entire plot of the game" cheapens everything that's happened in the game and ultimately ruins the games' climax and moral.

I think making N be a Pokemon doesn't really ruin game's plot and moral. It would actually give to the storyline and N's character more deep meaning. In B/W during the game N says that he couldn't believe that player character's Pokemon said they like him/her. That could be the time where N realized that he was wrong and people shouldn't be separated from Pokemon. If N was a Pokemon himself it could prove that friendship between player and Pokemon is real, because only a Pokemon can fully understand other Pokemon's feelings.

After that N could decide that Ghetsis organization should be destroyed. Seeing player's potential to defeat Ghetsis, N could organise the fight in N's castle to let player finnaly defeat him and Ghetsis to save people and Pokemon from being divided.

The moral of the story could be about the fact that true friendships can make sinister minds be better and can save the world from being divided and unhappy.

There was a good thread about N being a Pokemon: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/264842

There's always been characters that can comment on how happy the player's Pokémon are - you don't need a walking, talking Pokémon to hammer that point into the player without any regard for being subtle.

I'm afraid I can't see any reason why introducing this kind of concept has benefits that can be greater than the problem of distancing the player from the character and make it harder to relate to their side of the matter - at least when you're looking at the audience of players who may be beginning to or have grown out of the age where most of their fiction involves animals expressing human qualities.

To make it even more intriguing look at movie 13 first official announcement. The first official name for this movie was "Ruler of Illusions: Z". There was only first letter of Zoroark's name. The full name was revealed later.

[PokeCommunity.com] Third Game Speculation

The same thing goes with N. His full name was revealed later and N turned out to mean Nature. Very similar to Zoroark's name history, don't you think?

And of course "Z" is 90 degrees rotated "N" to make it even more curious. I think it's very possible for N to turn out to be Zoroark in Grey basing on those similarities.

Did you know? The letter N is actually derived from an Egyptian hieroglyph of a snake.

Since Servine is a green snake and N has green colored hair, it's more likely that N is a Servine than a Zoroark.

To make it even more intriguing, look at the color schemes of both of them (green, white, yellow for Servine and green, white, yellow and black for N).

Servine can't transform to human form, while Zorua/Zoroark can.

Zoroark are capable of creating illusions that are indistinguishable from reality, deluding many people simultaneously. However, unlike Pokémon that are able to Transform, Zoroark is incapable of physically changing itself into another form; it is merely capable of casting illusions.

Then how do you know N isn't an illusion - and is really Zoroark? Don't think they'll reveal that in the third game, though. :x

Either way this sorta discussion suits its own thread rather than here since you're just discussing what N is rather than relating directly back to third game (and you know that's an issue when you have to read back five posts to see how the current discussion relates to the third game and not actually belongs in its own thread.)

But yeah, I'd actually encourage you guys to make a new thread to discuss what N is based on since it'd be interesting discussion etc and y'all seem willing to continue discussing it. :)

Personally I'd love it if N was actually just a human raised by Pokemon (Maybe his mother is secretly a Nurse Joy or something xD).

It would be cool however if N was the protagonist of the Third Version, on basically a brand new quest after the whole Plasma debacle.

If it's true that N is a Pokemon, I'm sure they will reveal it in third game, so I think this thread is right to discuss it.

It has nothing to do with your theory about Servine. Anyway, if Zorua's/Zoroark's illusions are not physical, what are they? Holograms? They must be physical because Zorua/Zoroark are not ghosts, they must remain physical. It can be seen in anime episode about Zorua.

Also the whole N castle can be N's/Zoroark's illusion as well. This illusion may look like castle but in fact it can be illusionary cover of mountains which are in that part of Unova. That kind of illusion was in D/P episode "Malice In Wonderland!".

N grew up as a kid who was manipulated by Ghetis to be surrounded by Pokemon that were abandoned by cruel trainers. Ghetis intended to use him to bring Team Plasma together and force trainers to abandon their Pokemon. He even went so far as to get N to awaken the black/white dragon.

According to a Team Plasma Grunt, N's Castle was apparently "secretly built for several years by overworking Pokémon that were taken away from other Trainers" by Team Plasma. It was not an illusion.

It makes much more sense for N to be a human throughout all this, rather than an illusion created by a Zorua/Zoruark. If you want to make things more complicated, you can suggest that N's Void Cube that he carries around all the time is a crazy contraption that traps a Zorua/Zoruark in a human form.

Personally, though, I think N is just Ghetis' human son that shares characteristics with a Zorua/Zoruark/Servine/Cubone/the black or white dragon. Just like how he shares his humanity with every other human in Unova.

Looker says that he has heard that N was seen in a distant land with a Dragon type Pokemon, Maybe N will make an appearance in the 6th generation with Ghetsis, but I hope not, I don't like to fight Team Plasma in the 6th generation again...

It would be cool if we can battle the seven sages in the 3rd game, they really should make the games harder also, and reveal Looker's real name.

I know it would make sense if N was a human, but it would be much interesting and surprising if he was a Pokemon. There is always some twist of plot in every third game and that would be the best twist of plot in all Pokemon games.

And N castle is just weird. It looks like cartoon flat building that it often used in making movies. And how it would be built underground?

No, actually there isn't some twist of plot in every third game. There's generally an addition to the normal storyline, but nothing that really deviates from the story of the past two games.

I don't know how it was built underground, but it makes more sense than it merely being an illusion since it actually did come out of the ground. If you play the game up to that point, you will see.

I know it visually did come from underground but it doesn't explain much...

Anyway, we can discuss it for a long time but still nothing will be sure, so let's just wait for those game and we'll see how it will be.

The castle could be an illusion as it crumbled according to Looker when N was defeated...unless that was due to our battle...Each third game a new charcter is introducedgen 2: Eusine Gen 3: Scott gen 4: Looker himself gen 5: ???Could the next new character be one of N's parents? That would be interesting if that happened...and Ghetsis goes all crazy about how they should be gone (cough dead cough)...

Here's my expectations about the Gym leader teams (Not rematches):
Chili, Cress and Cilan(Triple battle with the help of the rivals): Pansear LV15 Panpour LV15 Pansage LV15.
Lenora: Patrat LV17 Herdier LV19 Cinccino LV20.
Burgh: Swaldon LV22 Dwebble LV22 Scolipede LV25.
Elesa: Tynamo LV26 Emolga LV26 Zebstrika LV28 Galvantula LV30.
Clay: Stunfisk LV32 Palpitoad LV32 krokorok LV 32 Excadrill LV34 .
Skyla: Swoobat LV36 Unfezant LV36 Swana LV36 Archeops LV38.
Brycen: Vanillish LV40 Cryogonal LV40 Beartic LV41 Vanilluxe LV43.
Drayden or Iris: Fraxure LV45 Druddigon LV45 Zwelious LV46 Haxorus LV48.

That seems pretty accurate, I'm sure there will be a few changes. For rematches they don't usually choose the strongest possible teams but I'd see it something like this:

Chili/Cilan/Cress - Fire/Grass/Water types at Level 50.
Lenora - Bibarel Level 50, Watchog Level 52, Stoutland Level 52, Cinccino Level 51, Slaking Level 50, Bouffoulant Level 54
Burgh - Scizor Level 52, Masquerain Level 51, Crustle Level 53, Vespiquen Level 52, Yanmega Level 53, Leavanny Level 54
Elesa - Ampharos Level 52, Galvantula Level 52, Manectric Level 53, Luxray Level 53, Electivire Level 54, Zebstrika Level 55
Clay - Marowak Level 53, Golurk Level 53, Claydol Level 52, Glisgor Level 54, Hippowdon Level 54, Excadrill Level 56
Skyla - Skarmory Level 54, Pidgeot Level 53, Tropius Level 54, Unfezant Level 54, Swellow Level 55, Swanna Level 56
Brycen - Cloyster Level 54, Mamoswine Level 55, Glalie Level 54, Beartic Level 55, Cryogonal Level 56, Vanilluxe Level 57
Iris - Flygon Level 57, Dragonite Level 58, Kingdra Level 57, Altaria Level 58, Druddigon Level 58, Haxorus Level 60
Draydon - Flygon Level 57, Salamence Level 57, Kingdra Level 57, Haxorus Level 58, Garchomp Level 58, Hydreigon Level 60

I've got something to add about third games' twists of plot.

No, actually there isn't some twist of plot in every third game. There's generally an addition to the normal storyline, but nothing that really deviates from the story of the past two games.

You're right about Yellow and Crystal. They had just an additions to normal plot, but in Emerald and Platinum there are actual twists of plot.

In Emerald both teams Aqua and Magma are trying to to use legendary Pokemon to change world's environment and both of them realize later that it was bad idea. It's different from R/S because both team and their leaders are involved.

In Platinum there's even bigger twist of plot because Cyrus is stuck in Distortion World, while in D/P he just escaped.

Those twists don't have much impact on player's character's storyline, but they change antagonists' fates. N becomes good at the end of the B/W, but he's antagonist after all and he's fate should be changed too, for example make him be Zorua/Zoroark.

Each third game a new charcter is introducedgen 2: Eusine Gen 3: Scott gen 4: Looker himself gen 5: ???Could the next new character be one of N's parents? That would be interesting if that happened...and Ghetsis goes all crazy about how they should be gone (cough dead cough)...

There are also Jessie and James as new characters in Yellow.

They all are characters who meet player at unexpected moments in the games. Maybe in Grey it'll be someone from new Unova's Battle Frontier just like Scott from Hoenn's Battle Frontier. If N's parents would be in Grey, they would rather keep searching for N not player. Also if it's true that N is Zorua/Zoroark, his parents would be Pokemon as well, and that would make them not important enough to show in Grey. Junichi Masuda revealed that N's parents are unknown, so Ghetsis is rather not N's father.
