Well, according to an interview that the Game Informer Page has made to Junichi Masuda, the man said: "I've tought about doing something new, and I'm very excited about adding new elements to the games. It's just an idea; personally, I like action games a lot. Pokemon is a rol game, but we have talked about it a few times. We would like to add some action elements to the game."

So, what do you think? Should Pokemon change or just it remain the same as always?

Personally, I think it would be great if they add some new things into the game. My dream is to be able to teach the Pokemon more than just four moves ^^

Pokemon should and could be an excellent MMORPG that could receive expansions for new regions/pokemon but nintendo doesn't seem to have any common sense about it.

No no, screw RPGS, I just want the game to add a little bit more action in it.. like Masuda said.
And also.. better graphics.. where you can actually feel the environments your around :)

hologram and voice activated technology that reads the pitch of the technique and a pokeball as a controller that can release and call back the pokemon. Also, virtual reality helmet that is a hat(different styles too) and glasses that allow you to view the entire world of pokemon. The game: customizable character, and you get to view what flying and surfing is like. Also a first and third person option.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE VIDEO GAME EVER CREATED!

In the future of course. But for being current? take away the holograms and virtual reality and this would be for wii.

Inkfingers and Lionsroar make a good point.

I think there should be a more immersive game (a la Pokemon Snap - not THAT immersive, Inkfingers) where you could see Pokemon in their natural habitats and how they move and live, etc. I think the main RPGs do an excellent job of mutilating that sense of naturalism by making the only times you see pokemon are trainer-oriented, like battles or in the Pokemon Box or Pokedex.

Pokemon Ranch didn't help that much at all.
If Hey You, Pikachu! was remade for Wii using the Wiispeak, Nintendo could take the franchise to unprecedented levels of... fun, I guess. What do you guys think?

About the action part of the franchise remake, I think it could be pulled off nicely.
I imagine it as a less amazing, more statistic-driven SSBB.

What other thoughts do you guys have on the matter?

Oops sorry, I meant to say MMO-RPGs not just RPGS. heck I love RPGS :)

but yeah, pokemon snap captured the entire mood of encountering pokemon, like.. "WOW THERES A PIKACHU THERE!" ya know? But yeah, I dunno how the action would really look.. SSBB kinda look would look pretty hard since the perspectives different? you know.. you see the stage from the side?

also, the sprites are really starting to get old.. first they were static, then they moved when they came outa their balls.. now 'some' pokemon are starting to appear outa their pokeballs (HG/SS).. but what next? I doubt there gona stick to 2d..

but yeah, honestly, I'm just wanting for something radically new in the core games :)
