Time to make an OVP thread. Now should I answer my question?

    I ask this out of pure curiosity. It's not against rules and it's not judging you or anything. So don't be shy. ^^;

When you make threads here in OVP, do you answer you own questions? More importantly, why or why not?
For those of you who don't make threads here, would you answer them if you did?

I always answer in the opening post because I'd feel guilty if I didn't. Which is weird, because on the whole I see more threads with just questions than questions with the OP's response after it. :s And if I waited for another post I'd feel even more guilty about it, like I was doing it for the extra postcount, even though I don't care about postcount at all.

    > For those of you who don't make threads here, would you answer them if you did?

I'm yet to do so, but I would most likely answer my own question(s). As you said you would: I'd feel guilty. I feel that if I asked a question and didn't respond, why should anyone else? Maybe it's a personal question. Is it fair for me to not state my opinion and then someone else to state theirs for me to read?

It also promotes discussion if you add your own opinion, and if I were to start a topic I'd want to have the healthiest conversation I could.

I don't have a set policy on answering my own threads. XD Sometimes, I post in the first post, sometimes I want to wait before I post my response. It all depends on how I feel at the time. ^__^ But I do always try to make sure I respond.

When I make an OVP thread here (that rarely happens, since I've done it a few times), I answer the questions I made.

Ahahaha I am SO guilty of this. I've made pages of OVP threads and only actually replied to a select handful. I mainly don't reply to them for three reasons; one, I was busy thinking about posting and not replying so I forgot. Two; it's not the sort of question I'd like to answer, but it's one I'm curious about anyway. Three; I'm just feeling lazy tbh. Usually if it's just something small or a list or something like that, I'll reply to the thread though, usually in the OP since I don't wanna post twice in one place.

Most of the time, I'm more concerned in what I'm asking and what other people will say about it. If I feel it'll help clarify any questions, I'll answer it.

I usually only answer my own question if I made it because I already had that answer in mind. If I have to struggle to come up with an answer, I usually won't bother.

I try to I think. But in the OC I try not to because it'll be like the discussion ended as I answered my own question.

I don't reply so I can revive my threads later on - not really! But idk, only a few I reply to, the rest... I dunno, I think it looks neater without a response. :x Not that it's an issue though since some I go back and actually reply to, and some I really don't know the answers to. XD

Sometimes I answer it on the first post, and if I don't I usually forget to post back and I end up not answering the topic in the end. I usually try to, but if I forget I don't usually come back for it.

No I rarely answer my own question, simply because I'm usually asking things I wouldn't really want to answer myself. Plus I always prefer to hear about other people than talk about myself; just as long as the subject is interesting to me.

I always answer my own threads, but never in the original post - mostly because I think answering the question in your original post makes it look less like an original post and more like you just picked up the middle of a thread and ran with it.

That's an awesome strategy. I'm going to use that for now on!

I've made a thread or two here(I think ;_;). I also have intentions to make one here, when I get around to that. But yeah, I'd answer my questions in my opening post. It'd just be weird asking for all this info of other people but not supplying the same. I wouldn't use another post, as that is pretty much just trying to get posts right there.

In the OC, however, I let the discussion form before I really put my 2 cents in. That way I don't entirely control the discussion, and it bends towards the views of the community.

Sometimes I do but it just depends. If I'm in the mood I do but if I'm not I'll just leave it and use it to revive later.

Not really. I know I want to, but making a thread with such questions is whenever I want to know what others think about them. I don't believe they care about my own opinion about the things I'm asking, since I'm the one asking it.

That's just the feeling I get, though.
