1. Thirteenth Anthology - Yoko Shimomura
As a medley of several of my favourite songs in an epic arrangement, it's only natural that it's my favourite song of all time. (At least until something replaces it. Which nothing has in a few years. n_n;;)

2. Fate of the Unknown (Orchestral remix) - Bak.R
omg everything in Kingdom Hearts so far. ._.;; Oh well. Someone remixed/rearranged Fate of the Unknown and I love this version of it so much. It's a bit boring when it delves into Roxas's theme for a minute or two but oh well. XD;

3. Lord of the Castle - Yoko Shimomura
And... one of the songs in #1. XD; I fell in love with this the moment I heard it. I still love it.

4. Through the Years & Far Away - TENMON
This is from the movie Voices of a Distant Star which is an okay movie but sdkljsdfs this song. I prefer the instrumental BGM version of it (which is listed) rather than the vocal version (which is very Engrish). It's just so pretty. n_n

5. At the End of All Things - Abadoss
An OCRemix song remixing several songs in Chrono Trigger. It's... really, really good. n_n;;

#5 could really be replaced with any remixed song that I've taken a liking to, though this one has been one of my absolute favourites for over a year now. And aside from #1, the rest of the list is likely to fluctuate or be replaced. D:

1. Shiva by The Antlers. the entire album (Hospice) is a story about a hospital worker losing his wife and being stuck in a position where he has to take abuse from his rightfully bitter terminally ill wife, it is heartbreaking and beautiful and dreadful and lovely, the most emotional album i've ever listened to. this song particularly gives me a heavy crying sensation, she's died and he's in a state of shock and hysteria at the situation and how she left him. i've been told that this album is based on actual events the singer/writer (Peter Silberman) experienced, but i'm not sure how much of the story is really autobiographical, but the way he pours his heart out in live performances tells me he's really undergone something, and i admire him.

2. One Day Like This by Elbow because it relates to my significant other and the strength and certainty of our love, plus it's real catchy and uplifting

3. Can You Get to That by Funkadelic. just catchy and funky, one of those songs you catch yourself involuntarily tapping your foot to xD

4. Wake Up by Arcade Fire. probably a common pick, but it is inspiring and reminds me to never give into the pace of society. i feel like im constantly rushed and discouraged to be imaginative because everyone wants me to live this droning, scheduled, repetitive lifestyle; telling me that one door leads to another when really each door just leads to the same room. i dont like being told how to behave and i intend to maintain a boundless, childlike mindset, and this song reflects that.

5. Spilt Needles by The Shins. around the time i first heard this song, i was struggling with my existential beliefs and this song made me feel less alone and helped encourage me to analyze what i've been taught and what i'd been through, thus pushing me away from self-destruction.
