Writer's block is your natural enemy, and for months it's been winning. Finally feeling motivated again, you set your goals towards the championship title, and set off…

Personal Challenges:

The Chosen One: What kind of story wouldn't feature a chosen one? One that features three! When catching your Pokemon, use the dexnav to find one that has either 3-star potential, an egg move, or a hidden ability.

High stakes: Your story won't go anywhere without something to overcome, after defeating Archie at Mt. Chimney turn off the experience share and change the battle mode to set until Team Aqua has been stopped. (feel free to ignore if it's too annoying)

Seeking Inspiration: What if taking on 8 of the country's strongest trainers, facing the Elite 4, fighting The Champion, and facing off against a team of misguided eco warriors determined to reawaken one of the Old Gods to expand the seas and drown the world isn't enough inspiration? Not worth the risks! You should probably take on contests too whilst you're there… try to have a Pokemon hold a master rank contest ribbon before completing the Team Aqua storyline.

Pokemon:

Gardevoir- Fairy/Slender/Good/Variety of Colour

No 'damsel in distress' in this story, that trope is so overdone. Gardevoir must be the leader of the party whenever facing off against any of the Team Aqua admins, Archie, and your rival. This time she's leading the charge into battle.

Aggron- Silver/Mythical Creatures/Brave

Everyone loves a good redemption arc, and what could be better than a titan of steel, the natural enemy of your first companion's fairy typing, turning heel, and joining the team? Learning to be good means putting in the work, this Pokemon must spend at least two consecutive turns in battle against each gym leader. If this results in them being KO'd, they must battle against the next Gym Leader until they either win or get knocked out again.


Flip a Coin (every hero needs a helping hand from luck)

If heads:

Glalie- Snowy Fields/Ice/Silver

Is it a deux ex machina for Glalie to turn up and join the team after 6 badges? Probably not, it's a Glalie, but they're determined to prove they belong, no matter the costs. Whenever another Pokemon faints in battle, Glalie must be sent in to try and avenge their fallen companion.

If tails:

Ninetales- Fox/Japan/Mythical Creatures

A mystical fox, surrounded by rumour and legend, appearing before you on a fog-covered mountain that's riddled with bad guys? Sounds like something out of a storybook! Especially when they offer to join the team to protect the world from catastrophe, a real coup de grâce, right when it was needed. Try to use Ninetales to land the finishing blow on the ace pokemon of any major battle after adding them to the team.

A quest for wellbeing:

Anxiety has, unfortunately, always been there. Sometimes it hides, tucks itself away and whispers cruel questions into your ear, sowing seeds of doubt into your every move.
Sometimes, it lets itself be seen. It screams at you, it beats you down and wears you out and makes the tiniest of tasks feel like climbing a mountain. People that get it, get it. People that don't, know how to make you feel like crap without even realising what they've done. You can't even count how many times people have told you "it's all in your head, just ignore it, it isn't real, you'll be fine". One day it dawned on you, maybe there was another way to deal with it… maybe it couldn't completely go away, but perhaps there was a way to remind yourself that anxiety liked to lie, and maybe you could find a way to prove, to yourself and your anxiety, that it was full of s**t. The Champion title ought to do the trick.

Personal challenges:

Know your limits: you and anxiety have been together for a while now, and you know the value of taking time to recharge. After each gym battle, slow things down a little and spend some quality time with the partners that made this possible. Upon earning a badge, earn one heart in Pokémon Amie with one of your teammates.

Self doubt: It takes time and perseverance, but with a reliable support system, you'll get there! Fight each gym leader on switch mode, always switch your Pokemon before fighting the gym leaders ace. This rule does not apply to Elite 4 or The Champion.

Wanderlust: Your want for travel leads you to every corner of the map on your journey. You must fully explore each route, city and cave before moving on to the next one and make sure to visit every route in Hoenn! Who knows what hidden treasure could be hidden off the beaten path? Areas locked behind HM's and the bicycle can be skipped, but should be revisited as soon as access is granted.


Pokemon:

Ludicolo- anxious, a solid 4

It's really hard to focus on your anxiety, when your sentient, dancing pineapple friend is bopping along to the song inside their head non stop. Whenever you're exploring a new route for the first time, Ludicolo leads the party. They're your emotional support pineapple, and they're determined to keep you company when facing new challenges.

Flip a coin (sometimes it's easier to take the pressure of deciding out of the equation)

If heads:

Flygon- Dragon, Earth tones

Your knack for perfection has rubbed off on your partner, and now Flygon seeks to achieve this too. Flygon must only know 4 attacking moves and each should be of a different type. Whenever a Pokemon weak to one of those four moves is sent into battle, Flygon must be sent in to deal with it. If at least three gym leader Pokemon are OHKO'd this way, this rule may be lifted.

Altaria, with its cloud-like soft wings and caring disposition is essentially a living, caring, weighted blanket. They know it, you know it, and it's what really solidified your bond as trainer and Pokemon. They don't mind helping to soothe your mind when the world gets too loud, they like feeling like they helped. They're not the best at battling and they don't care, they know where their talents lie. Altaria can only ever have two damage dealing moves at a time, and they must always be STAB moves. The others must always be status/support moves and can be of any type.

Girafarig- Gemini, Psychic, Smart and Unattractive

Girafarig understands your plight better than a lot of Pokemon could… having a second head, that barely thinks and interacts with the world by lashing out, is a strangely appropriate analogy for anxiety. Your noble quest for self betterment has intrigued them, and they secretly hope their second head might learn a thing or two about self improvement along the way too! Girafarig is aware of the nature of the second head and to that end, must always stay at the back of the party. They also can't hold any consumable held items, the other head would just eat them right away… non edible held items would be best.

Seeking Inspiration: What if taking on 8 of the country's strongest trainers, facing the Elite 4, fighting The Champion, and facing off against a team of misguided eco warriors determined to reawaken one of the Old Gods to expand the seas and drown the world isn't enough inspiration? Not worth the risks! You should probably take on contests too whilst you're there… try to have a Pokemon hold a master rank contest ribbon before completing the Team Aqua storyline.

Pokemon:

Gardevoir- Fairy/Slender/Good/Variety of Colour

No 'damsel in distress' in this story, that trope is so overdone. Gardevoir must be the leader of the party whenever facing off against any of the Team Aqua admins, Archie, and your rival. This time she's leading the charge into battle.

Aggron- Silver/Mythical Creatures/Brave

Everyone loves a good redemption arc, and what could be better than a titan of steel, the natural enemy of your first companion's fairy typing, turning heel, and joining the team? Learning to be good means putting in the work, this Pokemon must spend at least two consecutive turns in battle against each gym leader. If this results in them being KO'd, they must battle against the next Gym Leader until they either win or get knocked out again.


Flip a Coin (every hero needs a helping hand from luck)

If heads:

Glalie- Snowy Fields/Ice/Silver

Is it a deux ex machina for Glalie to turn up and join the team after 6 badges? Probably not, it's a Glalie, but they're determined to prove they belong, no matter the costs. Whenever another Pokemon faints in battle, Glalie must be sent in to try and avenge their fallen companion.

If tails:

Ninetales- Fox/Japan/Mythical Creatures

A mystical fox, surrounded by rumour and legend, appearing before you on a fog-covered mountain that's riddled with bad guys? Sounds like something out of a storybook! Especially when they offer to join the team to protect the world from catastrophe, a real coup de grâce, right when it was needed. Try to use Ninetales to land the finishing blow on the ace pokemon of any major battle after adding them to the team.
