Tug o' War 5 - Pie (+1) vs Cake (-1)

There's fisherman's pie and potato pie. I personally wouldn't want a fish in a pie or a cake, but for people who do, it's there.

I have had potato pie before. The most famous one is sweet potato pie, like my grandma and aunts used to make, and my mom has me bake for her in the autumn holiday season. However, there are also savory kinds of potato pies like Irish potato pie and French potato pie.

That blueberry galette looks unappealing to me, as does Pizza pie after looking it up as I didn't even know about those. Kinda makes my stomach turn.
Also not huge on pancakes, but I'd still eat those if hungry at least, though I wouldn't call those a cake 😏

Is it the blueberries that turned you off, or the whole look? I was wondering if a different fruit might change your mind.

Pizza pie is pizza, it's just a name that it's sometimes called by in the states. Since pancakes are not really cake, I named something that was not really pie for fun. If the pictures you saw looked really different than a pizza then I can't vouch for what that was.

That one looks like I'd need to give it a try some time if I ever come across it =O

For the previous one:
Spoiler:

The black stuff just makes it look burned to me. It probably isn't, but it still looks unappealing because it looks like burned food to me.
I've also never been huge on blueberries, though.

As for Pizza pie; these came up, amongst other images:

Spoiler:

Both made my stomach turn when I saw them earlier.

Haha, nah, mate. I was thinking of something much more everyday like this.

I think what you saw in the first image was an attempt to make one particular type of pizza, the Chicago deep dish style. It will have really high, thick crust and layers of sauce more like a casserole, people either love those or hate em.

I don't think the second one is pizza. It looks like the poster made a quiche, and added pepperoni to do something edgy. At least it's not something I have seen at a pizza parlors I have gone to. I would probably pass on that one with you.

I am a Bernouilli variable that randomly increments or decrements the counter :3

In English there are quite a few terms of an endearment for our loved ones that are plays on the word pie. You can call someone a "sweetie pie" or "cutie pie" for instance. There's an old love song- Can't Help Myself that's about a man pining for a girl he describes as his "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch". You can even say that somebody is "nice as pie" to express what a pleasant person they are.

I'm not saying that we couldn't find a way to also use cake to show affection or describe someone kindly, but pie seems to be more associated with phrases like that.

A vote for pie is a vote to spread peace, love and all sorts of good vibes

And there's PewDiePie! And if I recall correctly, PewDiePie's girlfriend was named "CutiePie", thanks to you, now I know why :)

Spoiler:

I'm always so unprepared in regards to food on Sundays. xD
I have emptyfridgephobia :(

Alcremie should stay hiding in Galar, in Paldea who is to say Appletun wouldn't terastialize into a steel or poison type, and eat that cream pokemon for lunch? Besides Appletun is 100% apple pie, Alcremie can only be a cake when it gmaxes.

Looks like a normal thin pizza to me. why call it pizza pie =P

Because it truly is normal thin pizza ^_^ Pizza pie is a term that encompasses all pizza in the US. Using the word "pie" for a pizza goes all the way back to the late 1800s when pizza was introduced here by Italian immigrants. Because it was a new food for most Americans, and the word "pizza" wasn't familiar to them, it was marketed as "tomato pie" to the public. The phrase pizza pie is a holdover from the old days.
