Anime/Manga uguu?

It was a great case of a show that you'd only enjoy if you liked the game. Fans know this and pretty much only stand up for it in that regard. It's no real representation of Kancolle.

lol nope.

We fans hated it the most. We're still in it for the game. In fact, a big event just started a few hours ago.

Spoiler:

But yeah, you should've been around for our backlash, it was amazing.

Never gave kancolle a chance despite me loving the ever loving shit outta Kongou's design. :p The premise sounded really ridiculous. So yeah. Right now, the only things I know and love about Kancolle are the anime's OP (Miiro is an amazing song <3) and Kongou's design. :3

I suppose a better way of putting it is that the fans realize that it's shit and pretty much only put up with for the sake of memes and the fanservice.

As for me, I would have loved to join in the backlash. From the moment the anime was announced, I knew it was gonna be an absolute trainwreck. I'm not apart of the Kancolle community, really, but I did know about the extent to which it'd grown and what it was. As a result, I knew IMMEDIATELY that I needed to watch it and see it in all its wondrous glory.

I'm not lying when I say I was so fucking psyched when the second season was announced. Largely 'cause of how we watched it, though. If we were behind, we'd open 2 windows, one with each episode, and run them simultaneously, each with a different filter(s). Then in a really small window in the top center we'd play a random episode of Pokemon quietly. Good times poi.

But even apart from that, I relish in its badness.

So Danchigai and My Wife is the Student Council President. Danchigai is horribly mediocre but has really short episodes. And I don't mean mediocre in a bad way, 'cause it's not a bad show, but watching that shows is like...eating completely unsalted, unflavored potato chips- that's verbatim what it's like. It's not funny, it tries to be cute but it's not really, the family's close but not(?), and I'm not even sure if the show knows whether it wants to be a harem/Oreimo or just a show about a guy and his sisters.

As for MWSCP, I like it. Main girl's hits a lot of points that they really could have missed in making a character like that, the other council members at the moment are...eh? I'm sure they'll get better with focus, though, and the other characters that have been given time (and the MC) aren't half bad. Really surprised I'm enjoying this as much as I am. It's another short one but not quite as short as Danchigai and Teekyu.

what how did u figure out how i usually watch anime
Because machostick.

I learned may things as a result. Such as that bit about your strawberry undergarmentsehuehuehue

And here I thought Okusama was about boob shots...

MAD HYPE INTENSIFIES

This is a good thing you're doing. Dark Souls is fantastic and PC will think better of you for it.

Well, it's still very much an ecchi and it definitely has its fun with boobles, but it also actually gives a shit about its plot and characters.

Or, to put it another way, the plot isn't an excuse for ecchi. It's more like the show cares about its plot and characters, but also promises uncensored/ecchi which, surprisingly, makes for a good show.

Am I the only one who can't stand ecchi anime? :( the only one I've enjoyed(recently) was Punch Line, ahaha.

There was one a looooong time ago that a friend and I watched just because of how ridiculous it was. Anyone remember DearS? Like, we were 15 and couldn't tell if this show was serious or not.

Just listen to those lyrics, mmmmmm.

Nope. I personally have no bias against 'em, but if it's a show that's just ecchi for ecchi's sake (an older example that I absolutely hated in my younger days is Ikki Tousen), I generally won't get into it because I don't really get anything out of the experience.

But if it's good, far be it for me not to watch it. Tenjou Tenge was a good example of this, went into it expecting it to be a generic ecchi when it turned out to be a plot-heavy brawler with a fun theme song. Plus there are ecchi that work to be completely novelty, like Eiken or various others, which are generally good for a laugh, and Master of Martial Arts, which follows the School Days formula of "Congratulations on reaching the end, here's your out-of-nowhere ****ed up ending". So I doubt I'd be able to dismiss the whole genre, I'd be missing out on a lot if I did.

For the interested, that Tenjou Tenge OP comes in two other flavors:

Pokemon

and Gurren Lagann
Spoiler:

Both of which are pretty well done and have some really nice design choices. Such as a Dancing Anti-Spiral (I mean come on, how do you get better than that?)
