Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

I would like to start a challenge with Steel types in Kanto in Fire Red or Leaf Green by having only Magneton and Magnemite. Is that acceptable?

-Trained on the way to Pastoria, getting 2 Heart Scales on the way.

Ok, after running up against a brick wall at the Elite 4 in Johto, started grinding like crazy to try and work my way through them. Started to get somewhere, then laptop crashes and hard drive has to be re-imaged. File gone, no Pokémon, no game >.>

Not a happy bunny.

So, I know I've been out of this thread for god knows how long, but is it cool if I pick it up again now that I've summoned the willpower to restart Silver?

Hmm. Il try, but the only problem is that I dont have black or white........ Ill run through HGSS, then sapphire, then lg, and lastly, diamond. I only chose games ive beaten before, and actually played. Ill be doing this with dragon type.
So, ill start as soon as i get all the nessicery roms, the only one i need is actually diamond, but il need to hack in the starters to be dragons.

Silver Update:
Before starting: Started the game after doing all the post game things in Fire Red. I originally own Gold and Crystal so with the exception of Sapphire, I've never had a Vulpix on my team. Not to mention that even with Sapphire, I chose Torchic in my first playthrough, then Treeko, then... Torchic again so there was really no need for one except to add Ninetales to the dex.

Playthrough:
- Chose Kotone/Lyra's sprite and named myself Lovelie.
- Chose Cyndaquil from the starters. Named him Jonghyun and he has a Quirky nature. (Computer restarted before I could save what I wrote on his stats >_<)
- Went to Cherrygrove/Mr. Pokemon's house for Elm and got Togepi's egg, the Pokedex, Running shoes, and Map Card. Fought my rival while at lvl. 7 and took care of Totodile in a few hits. Told the cop that his name was Seungri.
- Went to Violet city and went through the Bellsprout Tower. Jonghyun evolved into Quilava after the second to last match (just before the Elder). Beat Falkner and his lackeys. Beat all the trainers on route 32 and in Union Cave.
- Beat Team Rocket and liberated Slowpoke Well. Beat Seungri's Croconaw, Ghastly, and Zubat. Caught an Oddish in Ilex Forest for HM Slavery. Got the Charcoal maker's Farthfetch'd. Beat all of Bugsy's lackeys and him.
- Beat all of the trainers on route 34 and met up with Ethan.
- Went to the radio tower to get a radio card. Battled Whitney and her lackeys. Togepi hatched right after the match in the gym.

Current location: route 34
Current action: raising Togepi on route 34 to be a Togetic/Togekiss for HM Slavery.
Future Action: catch Vulpix on route 36; meet Bill in Ecruteak to get Eevee in Goldenrod; breed Eevee to raise a Flareon from scratch; challenge Seungri, Morty, Jasmine, and Chuck; visit Safari Zone.

Bug Update #1-Kanto
-Got Charmander as a starter and used it up until I caught a Caterpie and named her Jade
-Trained Jade into a Metapod and then caught a Weedle in Viridian Forest and named it Commando
-Trained Jade and Commando until the were fully evolved into Butterfree and Beedrill
-Trained Jade until she learned confusion so I could easily defeat Brock on the 1st try
-Made it to Cerulean City with Jade at lv21 and Commando at lv19
-Beat my rival Gary and cleared all the trainers on and around nugget bridge
-Took down both Misty's Staryu and Starmie with just Commando and got my 2nd badge
-Went down to Vermilion City and battle all the trainers on the SS ANNE and defeated Lt. Surge for my 3rd Badge
-Made it through Rock Tunnel and battled everyone up until Celadon City where I swept through Erika's gym just using Commando earning my 4th badge
-Took the long way to Fuschia City where I am currently still training for the 5th gym and on the lookout for my next team memeber

Short update on my Ultimate Flying Mono-type challenge - Sinnoh region.

Haven't played this one in a few days, but here we are.
Rt. 210 → Iron Island.

Spoiler:

• Okay, so after finishing up all the trainers along both sides of Pastoria City, it was time to go to Celestic Town.
• Used the SecretPotion on the Psyduck, got the Old Charm from Cynthia.
• Taught Defog to Hawkeye and blew away the fog.
• Got to Celestic Town, where a Galactic Grunt was threateniong to blow up the town.
• Defeated him easily, then after talking to the elder, I got Surf!
• Taught it to Grunt2, and flew back to Hearthome to get the badge there.
• Challenged the gym.
  
  
  
  
  Fantina wasn't too hard in the end. Drifter took out Drifblim with Shadow Ball, then went down to Mismagus, who then killed Hawkeye and Boss as well. Finally Claw was able to finish it with Faint Attack, then 2HKOed Gengar with a crit Faint Attack. I must say, Fantina's team here is pretty good.
  
  
• Now that I could Surf, I did just that to Canalave City, where I had Hawkeye, now a Staraptor, forget Defog.
  Then I went to the Move Tutor in Pastoria and taught Hawkeye Close Combat.
  On the bridge in Canalave, Hal was waiting to fight me.
  
  
  
  
  He wasn't too difficult. I switched to Drifter halfway through as she needs more experience, and got her to L35.
  
  
• After that, I took the ferry to Iron Island, where I currently have it saved.

All the Iron Island trainers besides the Galactic Grunts are beaten and I am currently training my team to L40 with Aaron's help, and then I will challenge the steel gym, which is gonna be hard.

But, I'm here actually as a participant right now. I already did the UMC water a while ago, but am not contempt yet. So, even though I beat it on Silver, I'm going back now and doing Heart Gold, and I'll do LeafGreen after that, to truly beat every game with them.
