another Update on my Pokemon Fire Red Fire-only run. Giovanni was the toughest Gym to date, taking out my Charizard and Rapidash, I had to finish with my Flareon but was able to do a lot of damage thanks to Charizard and Arcanine. After 3 or 4 losses in a row to Lorelei of the Elite Four, I am grinding in Victory Road to get Charizard, Arcanine, Rapidash and Flareon above level 60.
ive been using an emulator, and I got so much done, I was fighting Lance, I had saved before him, and lost, so I went to reload, and screwed something up, and lost all the progress that I had made, so I am abandoning my Fire-only run and starting my Ground-only run instead. There is no way that I am going through all of that work again.

I hate it when that happens. Its happened to me loads of times. Recently, which was thankfully not very far, I was doing Bug on Silver, and I thought I was doing crystal, so I looked and looked for a Spinarak, but couldn't find one, only to realize I was doing the wrong game. I usually mess up when I try to do like 5 challenges at once, and always save one over the other. Good luck with your Ground, btw.
on second thought, Im just gonna scratch, Im gonna do a playthrough of Fire Red using what I feel will be an ultimate team. Had fun with what i did though :)
So in addition to my Platinum Normal Run, HG Water Run, and new Ruby Poison Run, I started a Gold Fighting Run. Poison is at Mauville now with Golbat and Dustox, and now Gold is at Mahogany (pre Red Gyarados) with Primeape (Dig, Strength, Low Kick, Iron Tail) and Machoke (Karate Chop, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch)
Started Pokemon Red mono water yesterday! Pretty Fun, I had forgotten how much fun the older games were! Just about to take on the pokemon league's elite four.

Sorry for my lack of updates. Life has gotten in the way. It took me FOREVER to beat Giovanni! Doing an electric type mono-challenge against a ground type gym where they all know Earthquake is not easy. Finally beat him, though. My party was:
Electrode (Voltage) Lv. 46
Skull Bash
Thunderbolt
Light Screen
Swift
Jolteon (Thunders) Lv. 63
Pin Missile
Double Kick
Take Down
Thunder
Pikachu (Piika) Lv. 53
Thunderbolt
Body Slam
Submission
Double Team
Currently battling the Elite Four. I beat the first two relatively easily, so I've decided to try this first run as my actual run. Current levels are:
Pikachu Lv. 58
Jolteon Lv. 65
Magneton Lv. 49
Electrode Lv. 46

Yeah, you won't have any problems with the E4 with a 60+ Jolteon with Thunder. Agatha's Gengars might give you a couple of problems because of their Sp. Def, but other than that it should be smooth sailing.
And don't worry about lack of updates, I havent updated my HG Water in like 2 months.
Yeah, had a little bit of trouble with the Gengar, but that was about it. Yay, I beat the Elite Four!!! Team was:
Jolteon (Thunders) Now on Lv. 67
Pin Missile
Double Kick
Take Down
Thunder
Electrode (Voltage) Now on Lv. 46
Skull Bash
Thunderbolt
Light Screen
Swift
Magneton (Maggs) Now on Lv. 49
Hyper Beam
Thunder
Supersonic
Swift
Pikachu (Piika) Now on Lv. 59
Thunderbolt
Submission
Body Slam
Double Team
Also has two HM slaves, Spearow and Squirtle, that did not see battle.
Now I'm going on to the next game. I was gonna use Crystal, but realized that I won't find an electric type for the first few gyms. So, I'm going to use Soul Silver, since you can get a Mareep before the first gym.

Well, since it'll apparently be a while before I can get a working Silver, I've decided to restart my Heart Gold version and use that instead. :/ However, I really like Ninetales more than Arcanine, so when it gets to the point where I can get said Pokemon I'm going to transfer over a Vulpix egg instead.
Journey start! Partner: Izanagi (V2) the Mild Cyndaquil that has 31 IVs in speed. <3

Evolved Gunko, Scorp, and Spore while training at iron island. I left with Spore being the last one to get to 45 since i got fed up with training.. So i made my way to the gym and challenged the leader.
This, i knew was going to be a challenge. His magneton was the most annoying since it 2 hits both Smokey and gunko, which is garbage that Gunko didn't hit it with revenge, which would've killed it... Anyways, Before Smokey died, i had him use curse so it was down almost all the way and Scorp could just steal the glory. Next was steelix. I switched to Spore to use pedal dance, i hit him, he healed, hit him again, then it was done. Finally, it was Bastiodon. Had Spore use pedal dance, it got alil over a third of his health down, then he almost killed her. I switched out for Scorp and stole its sitrus berry with bug bite, healing scorp. Then i switched back to spore and finished it with pedal dance.
Now, i must EV train some Eevees since im almost at the point where i can get glaceon.
My Current Team...

Final Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Normal)!
Final Update (#6) on Platinum! Ultimate Normal Monotype is Complete!
Picked up the game on the route to Sunyshore.
Spoiler:
Arrived in Sunyshore and found Volkner in the Lighthouse.
Challenged the gym.
After Linda went down, Lola beat the rest with Dig.
Got Waterfall and taught it to Beav, then headed to Victory Road.
Made my way through Victory Road easily enough, although Beav kept fainting.
When I made it out, I healed my team, then walked up to the guard.
Joe ambushed me me from behind.
Well, after Beav went down to Staraptor, Lola OHKOed Staraptor with Return, then fell to Heracross. Ace then took up the reins and swept the rest away.
I did a lot of preperation for the Elite Four:
Taught Substitute and Focus Punch to Lola.
Forgot Surf and taught Stealth Rock to Beav, and also bought a Return TM from the Game Corner for him.
Taught Thunderbolt to Matrix, and also used a Heart Scale to teach him Nasty Plot.
After I caught a Starly as a Fly slave, I had Ace forget Fly and learn ExtremeSpeed.
Got everyone Effort Ribbons as well.
Time for the Elite Four!
Linda took out Yanmega then fell to Heracross. Matrix OHKOed Heracross with Tri Attack thanks to the stat drop from Close Combat, then got a Nasty Plot on Vespiquuen and swept the rest with Thunderbolt and Tri Attack.
Linda took out Whiscash with Power Whip, then was crit Earthquaked by Gliscor. Matrix OHKOed with Ice Beam, then was beat by Hippowden. Beav swept the rest with Waterfall.
Beav led and put down Stealth Rock, then barely missed OHKOing Houndoom with Superpower. He went down, Linda came out and beat Houndoom and Infernape with Earthquake before falling to Rapidash. Lola came out, Substituted, and Flare Blitz recoil fainted Rapidash after Lola used Dig. Lola preceeded to lay down three more Substitutes, getting her HP down to 1, taking out Flareon in the process. After Magmortar Flamethrowered Lola's final Substitute, she was able to get a second Dig off to KO Magmortar and win the fight.
This took a few tries. First it was because of Gallade, then Espeon kept dealing too much damage. Eventually I made it through. Beav led again, and was able to take out Mr. Mime with some Waterfall/Return attacks, then fell to Gallade. Ace came in and beat Gallade with Air Slash, then fell to Alakazam while using ExtremeSpeed. Linda came in and survived Focus Blast to finish Alakazam, then Espeon's Quick Attack beat Linda. Lola came in and was able to take out Espeon before being taken down by Brongzong, but not before throwing a Focus Punch with a Substitute. I had revived Ace, and he used two Flamethrowers to beat Bronzong for the win.
I used all my Rare Candies to bring everyone up to L57, with the exception of Beav, who was stuck at L56.
Lost a couple times here too. Anyway, here's how it went down:
BeavGot some Waterfalls off around Stealth Rock to bring down Spiritomb's health before falling to 3 Dark Pulses. Linda finished off Spritomb, then fell to Lucario after almost OHKOing with Earthquake. Ace beat Lucario with Air Slash, then beat Togekiss as well. Ace then fell to Milotic's Ice Beam. Matrix came in and finished Milotic with Thunderbolt, and Garchomp was OHKOed by Ice Beam after Matrix survived Dragon Rush. Roserade came out and finished off Matrix with a crit Sludge Bomb, and Lola was my final Pokemon. Lola used Substitute, which was erased by Sludge Bomb, then Lola outsped Roserade to OHKO with Return!
The Proud Members of the Hall Of Fame!
Forgot to box Starly, lol...
And my final Trainer Card as well.
Yay for Shiny Badges!

Most Valuable Pokemon: Sinnoh MVP: Lola. Even though she faded a bit down the stretch, she was instrumental in defeating 2 major gyms: Eterna and Veilstone, especially Veilstone, as she had the means to beat Lucario. She also was a beast with Return coupled with her high speed, and was handy in the Volkner fight as well. Honorable Mention: Matrix. It dominated the latter half of the region due to its wide moveset. Elite Four MVP: Matrix. Dominated Aaron, and was key against Cynthia's monster Garchomp as well as Milotic to a lesser extent. It didn't contribute much in between mostly by choice and lack of need. Honorable Mention: Lola. She shined against Flint, and contributed in every fight except Aaron's. Also scored the winning hit against Roserade with a OHKO Return.
