Why not just emulate Emerald and hack Charmander as a starter into the rom? It's working fine for me with Stantler.

This is going to be fun. Tons of Rock types who resist everything but Astonish, but can Selfdestruct.

As I said, nothing that beats Rocks. They're worse than Magnemites for me in this run.

Somehow, I did manage it...

That lost HP was actually from some random Rattatas and Raticates using QA.
So, it'll be Pokemon Tower time soon (I already beat my rival there by the way, but forgot to screenshot it again), but first...

Flawless victory, Return sweeped the entire gym without healing once.

Some major improvements here. Only 1 move missing for the final moveset.

Oh yeah, I also did the Lavender stuff, didn't take long.

This DID take long though. Most of it was easy, but...

...this situation was quite uncomfortable. Because I made the mistake to throw something towards a Magneton that wasn't Return, Stantler got confused and then proceeded to hurt himself quite a lot. Magneton died, but then that Koffing proceeded to troll me with Poison by Sludge and Smokescreen hax.

This wasn't exactly easy as well. Pidgeot went down like nothing and so did Gyara (but it did reduce my Atk), but then 'zard took a T-Bolt and did over half to Stantler with Flamethrower. Then, Stantler failed to OHKO Exeggcute because of Gyara's Intimidate and got paralyzed. Alakazam didn't cause too much problems though, it only used Calm Mind.

Because most of Gio's Pokemon were pretty damn sturdy, Stantler had to take quite a few hits, but it wasn't too hard in the end.

Easiest thing of all that's in Saffron. Nothing could take a Return.
No moveset or item changes, all that changed is that Stantler is now level 56 instead of 47.

...Ehh it's going to be awhile...well I guess I can use an emulator, so I'll start on it in a bit, but I'm doing a monotype challenge at the moment, so I might be preoccupied for a bit.

Fuschia Stuff. Took me quite a while, so many routes...

Nuzlocke's law doesn't apply to Snorlax, apparently. So the rival and my HM Slaves aren't the only exclusion to it. So, there was no way I could lose on Brown since I had a Snorlax...

Somewhere between the fishing route and the cycling road, I figured I need a Surf and Strength slave.

.,.and here I get said HMs.

Stantler used Psychic. It's super effective.

Tons of water routes ahead.

Dammit.
Not in the mood for Cinnabar mansion right now, maybe later...or tomorrow.

No real changes except for the level and that I got that one PP Up from the labyrinth route.

Pretty easy, but Cinnabar Mansion was a pain. At least I got quite a few levels there.

Pointless side quest finished.

Finally back at Kanto.

This was a lot easier than expected.

The first 5 Pokemon were all easy, but Charizard survived a T-Bolt and then caused quite some damage. Might have been a problem in a different situation.

Next: The Elite 4. First round.

Hmmm i'll take you up on this challenge. I'll use Nidokings Family using the Games as Nidoking is pure win. I'm going to be recording this challenge so all rival fights and whatnot will be recorded. Hmm you say that emerald finishes at elite four... can you move onto steven if you wish?

Anyways game order will be

Red>Crystal>Emerald>Platinum

Elite 4 time!

Yeah, I accumulated quite a lot of money up to this point.
After applying the Rare Candies, Stantler was at level 85, this should suffice by far.

Let's do it.

Lorelei:

That Lapras was a major pain with Confuse Ray. The rest was easy though, not even Slowbro could take a T-Bolt.

Bruno:

Machamp did actually survive a hit, but all it did was Scary Face, about which I didn't care.

Agatha:

Easiest one so far.

Lance:

Gyara's Intimidate made 'Nite annoying. But just annoying, not dangerous.

Some last preparations...

Champion battle is up. And it was epic, the most epic champion battle I ever fought.

Whether I was needing that crit or not, it was nice. Better than getting Sand-Attacked or Featherdanced.

No problem at all.

Survived, damn. Well, 2 Full Restores later it died anyways.

Against Bruno, this didn't bother me, but this time it was frightening.

But, at least Rhydon died without doing any further damage.

I hate being slow.

This is it. The final battle that will decide everything. There can be only one, and will it be Stantler or Charizard?

Nice start for me, but knowing that it can both outspeed me and use Fire Blast is unpleasant.

Not unexpected at all. The next 2 rounds both went like this.

Seriously, I was expecting ANYTHING, but not this. Not surviving with 1 HP.

This was seriously the closest thing ever, especially when considering Nuzlocke's rule would have applied to Stantler and I would have lost this entire challenge otherwise.

Oh well, since the 2nd Elite 4 isn't necessary (and I would probably lose anyways), here's my final Stantler.

On to Johto. I'm not sure yet if I'll go with Gold as planned or try Heart Gold, we shall see later.

So, I did some research and found out the Rom crashing problem is still present in HGSS, so Gold it is.

Close call. After a missed Tackle (that would have finished Pidgeotto off) and the subsequent Gust, Stantler only had 2 HP left. But, the next Tackle hit so I won.

I picked out my starter of Nidoran♂ which replaced Bulbasaur. So my rival has a Charmander. Beat the first rival easy but didn't record that as well thats not necessary to win.

Waltzed and did the whole Pokédex stuff and then went to face Gary before the Pokémon league

Only trouble with gary would have been his Sand-attack but bar that he was easy.

Travelled to Viridian Forest and made it through there with ease and then i had a brain fart. I forgot that you don't learn double kick early on red, thats only on yellow.

Still managed to beat brock fine though
