Uncharted Waters [IC Thread/ R16]

Arthur was slightly irritated that he wasn't able to return the favor to Tylor's crew. He let out a sigh before saying, "Let's go captain, we'll just report them later."

"This is for trying to attack the Captain!"

"Arthur!" Takko screamed.

Arthur had his back turned and barely reacted in time for an incoming Cross Chop from a Machop. He managed to conjure a green barrier, Protect, just in time. The fighting pokemon's arms were being blocked by the green spherical light that now protected Arthur.

Arthur sucked in a deep breath. Cold air entered his lungs and with a loud cry he let a breath out. Blue dust came out of his mouth and soon the dust turned into a wild breath of snow pellets aimed at the fighting pokemon's feet. Ice incased the pokemon's toes and was creeping up towards its feet. Arthur however wasn't finished there. He spun his tail, that was at this point glowing, and sent a quick smack to the frozen Machop and sent it flying.

"What are you doing?" Arthur shouted, "We can report you for this!"

Pirate HQ Island

"Now, let's see how loyal your crew really is Alabaster!"

Nautilus turned around once more, hearing his captain shout. He grinned evily at his opponents, pumping his fists; three on three seemed a fair fight.
Tylor had already launched multiple attacks at the opposing group, behind the safety of a pile of rocks on the beach - perfect, let 'em muscles do the talkin' now.
The Machop said something and charged forward. The Croconaw, without giving it much thought, kicked the ground, launching himself in the air with speed unusual for his species - but then again, he had eaten the Air Slash fruit. After a brief moment, and with alot of nimbleness and elegance, he torn through the air, swirling around violently above the Blizzard that was just thrown by the Delcatty. He flew towards the Mankey in a frenzy that suited a "true" pirate like Nautilus, with his arms wide opened.

(lol @ short battle posts. Think somebody needs to stop this battle, lol. Let's not forget we must meet in the HQ.. but we don't have anything to do since that troint post takes so long. :/)

Alabaster "The Pseudo Psychic" Zol
Council Island
---------------------------------------

Alabaster sighed as Tylor Grubas became angry with him. The Sableye had completely misunderstood him, he never stated that this Damon was imaginary, he simply asked if he was or wasn't. However, Tylor seemed to have come to his senses after a while and apologized for insulting Alabaster. The Mankey was a bit relieved as he said:

"Well, it's good that we can sort this out like resonable adul--" in the middle of Alabaster's speech, he saw a Shadow Ball being thrown at him along with Tylor and his crew running away. Hmph, another characteristic of "The Phantom", hit and run. But before the Mankey could intercept the attack, Arthur rushed along and took the hit. Being a Normal-type, the Shadow Ball had no effect on Arthur. Seemingly agitated, the Delcatty released a Thunderbolt after the attackers, which was blocked by a Croconaw. Ah, he was a famous one too Taz Jr. Nautilus Morrigan. Or simply known as "The Madman of the Seas" or simply "Madman". Alabaster could tell that Tylor had found loyal men, since no Pokémon would take a hit from a move they were weak against unless they had to.

"Arthur." Alabaster said and walked up to the Delcatty, "I truly appreciate your act of saving me from that attack. But answering them will only cause more trouble for us, but I guess it was inevetable..." he shrugged, "Let's just take another route to the Council and--" for the second time today, Alabaster had been cut off. However, this time it wasn't because of any incoming attack. Instead it was because of an agitated Takko running after Tylor Grubas and his crew.

"Takko, no!" the Mankey exclaimed. He himself then started to take part in the chase, but instead of chasing Grubas he chased after Takko. The Mankey sighed and closed his eyes, soon his body began to glow in a reddish aura. He used Meditate, a move he was quite fond of, because he was certain that this wouldn't end well.

As they came out on a beach, Tylor released a Toxic and two Confuse Rays at the same time. This followed by one of his crew members, a Machop, running up to Arthur in an attempt to hit the Delcatty with a Cross Chop.

"Arthur, no!" Takko exclaimed as he jumped headfirst into the heat of battle to save Arthur from te Cross Chop. However, by doing so he exposed himself to the Confuse Rays, taking them straight on. Suddenly, the world began to wobble. Everything seemed distorted, the plants turned from green to yellow, the sky became purple and there was flying Tepigs EVERYWHERE.
"Woah... Duuuude..." Takko said as he wobbled around, trying to catch the imaginary Tepigs.

Alabaster's hands flamed up again. He met the incoming Madman head on and blocked his Air Slash with his burning fists. It hurt, a lot. After all, it was a move that Alabaster was weak to. But he did his best to hold his ground against the attack. Wobbling just a bit. He was not amused, all this fighting over a silly argument was wasting his time and to be honest, he was getting a bit agitated. But as usual, Alabaster kept his poker-face on and stared at Taz Jr. Or rather, he stared into the Croconaw's face, seemingly going beyond that. As if he saw right through "The Madman" and instead looked at Tylor. The Mankey's tone was heavy as he spoke,

"Grubas. I can tolerate you mocking my tail's abnormality, I can tolerate you throwing an attack at me and I can tolerate your idiotic need to be first. But I do NOT tolerate it when you choose to initiate a battle with my crew over a silly argunent that YOU started. As I've stated before; this isn't a game Grubas. This is probably about The Forsaken. Have you not heard about his antics? Have you not? He has stolen two essences already, and probably plans on stealing more. I don't care if this meeting is about him or not, I simply want the information on why we are summoned. And I plan on getting to the Council to recieve that information. Now if you choose to stand in my way, I'll have to take you down." Alabaster then made a pushing motion, intending for the Croconaw to be cast aside.
"So, how would you like it? Peaceful or Difficult?" he said.

The Mankey blocked Madman's Air Slash with his burning fists; the Croconaw landed just 2 meters away, unaffected by the flames that were weak againist him. He crossed his arms once again as he saw Alabaster stopping fighting; Nautilus stared at him back with an evil grin on his face, the adrenaline running through his veins.

Now if you choose to stand in my way, I'll have to take you down."

Then he motioned for Madman to abandon fighting; something which enraged him more than the speech of the puny Pokemon he could easily bite his head off; but discipline was one of Nautilus' aspects, and so he stood firm, still crossing his arms. Thomas retreated as well next to him, still in a battle stance with his chops ready. Alabaster spoke again, seemingly calm.

"So, how would you like it? Peaceful or Difficult?"

"O-ho-ho, that's rich, Alaby"

Nautilus started cracking up into laughter, he grabbed the Machop's shoulder so he wouldn't fall on the ground, the Machop holding his belly as well. But when he got serious after a brief moment, he glanced at Grubas behind them.

"Phantom. These guys have no sense of honor"

He turned his back on Alabaster and his crew and walked away slowly towards his captain, without waiting his orders. He was feeling disappointed they wouldn't get in a fight, but maybe it was better that way; however he had his ears open for any incoming attacks.
Thomas followed him as well, and when they reached Grubas they all turned to stare at their opponents. Nautilus had his immense red eyes always locked on the annoying Mankey, he performed a menacing motion with his two fingers pointing in his own eyes, then into Alabaster's.

"We use wiseguys like you for chum"

He shouted with a threatening tone on and chuckled, high fiving the grinning Machop and expecting a rock-friendly-punch from his captain.

(sorry for the minor bunnying, but since the troint that trolled us so much is almost ready, it's about time we stop fighting and we go inside the HQ, hm?)

Tylor "The Phantom" Grubas
Pirate Headquarters

For the most part Tylor was crackling with laughter as he watched the battle. Madman and Alabaster were going right at each other, Thomas was meeting his match against that little Delcatty and the Aipom was so confused that he was doing... whatever he was doing. Tylor giggled as he looked on.

"Just how we like it, pure chaos." Damon said next to him.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." Chuckled Tylor.

Then... Alabaster began to speak. Tylor just put his head in his hands and sighed as the mankey said all kinds of mumbo-jumbo about insulting each other and The Forsaken... The Forsaken! Tylor immediately latched onto that one word. The Forsaken was perhaps the one guy that had no obedience to anyone. Not the Pirate Council or the Navy had any control of him. He just went wherever he pleased and did anything he wanted. Tylor had actually been trying to follow the news of his deeds. Whenever a new one popped up Tylor couldn't help but laugh. In an odd way Tylor respected The Forsaken. It wasn't 'oh I want to work for you' respect, but he could see all the work that the man put into his craft. How he worked in details such as how to get past guards or how to find escape routes. The man was like a hero to Tylor. He was the greatest prankster to live!

Tylor came back to his senses to see his crew around him with Madman's hand outstretched. Well, it seemed that the battle was over.

"Forsaken you say? Well, we can't keep the Council waiting huh?" He said with a grin. Tylor thought about it for a second, "You know what, your crew wins this one! We got big big big gyarados to fry!"

With that Tylor grabbed hold of his two crewmates and dragged them off, "Now, we need to deliver this letter, get to the Council, find out about where Forsaken is and go find him!"

Damon chuckled and turned to Alabaster and gave him the middle finger, "See you later fur face!"

It was actually no surprise to his crew how enamored he was with the Forsaken. His part of the sleeping quarters had a barrel filled with sheets of paper talking about his actions. Tylor kept them bundled up nice and neat. No telling when he could meet The Forsaken and have him sign one of them. Tylor crackled at the thought.

The Troint Post

Shattered Skull Pirates: Glaedr, Dexter Aroughs, and Armand Roberts

Shi Guanno was a relatively well-known and respected Naval Officer that fell directly under Fleet Admiral Wei "Quake" Zho. Today, he had come to the Naval Storage Warehouse here on Ishumo Island to observe the stock and a few other things they had reports on that were irregularities. He had arrived here with two of his subordinates, also fairly high-ranked members of the Navy. The low-ranked sailors who worked there did their best to keep out of the way of the three of them for fear of getting demoted, or worse. However, the head officer of the Warehouse, a Throh by the name of Henderson, kept a close eye on them. There was something about them that was a bit suspicious. It was unusual for the Navy to send an unannounced officer like this. He couldn't read the Pokemon's motives, and quite frankly, didn't trust him.

And for good reason, because this wasn't the Naval Officer Shi Guanno. This was Armand Roberts, the "Skull King", and the two 'officers' with him were his crewmates, Dexter Aroughs and Glaedr. Armand and Dexter have been together for the past five years now. Dexter is Armand's first mate and his closest friend. There is no one else he'd rather have by his side, attempting something like this. Then there was the soft spoken Glaedr, who Armand doesn't know much about, being only with them for a month. However, he's proven he could hold his own, and Armand took him as his third crewmate.

Their target today is the legendary jewel of Partiis, which is said to have been discovered by the Navy Pokemon in this area and locked away in the vault here before it would be moved to the Naval Museum on the mainland in a few days. Armand, knowing an opportunity was at hand, set out to get it before it was moved. It was crazy, but crazy had become the new norm of the Shattered Skull Pirates.

So here they were, dressed as Naval Officers, walking right into a Navy Base, attempting to steal a pricey jewel. A single sailor escorted them to the vault, which they said needed to be 'observed for irregularities' Armand leaned over to the other two and spoke softly.

"Keep yer' head held high. We gotta act the part of these Navy boys." He said, with a wink. The three of them walked through, the sailors trying not to look as them as they passed by. At least they were rattled. The Throh officer, however, was close by, giving them suspicious looks. Armand could hear his heart beating as they walked closer to their goal, the safe.

"'Course cap'n, no reason to barge in here just t'be found out a moment later 'cause of poor acting." Dexter snickered out under his breath, continuing to walk down the hallway with his head raised high and the white navy coat wavering softly behind him.

He had let the goggles he usually wore on his forehead, stay back on the ship, but he was, as always, wearing the red hankerchief wrapped around his neck, draped slightly down over his chest. Glaedr on the other hand, was busy examining his immediate surroundings. He was constantly on the lookout for escape routes if anything went wrong, and pretty much did his bit of acting as a naval officer, since he had worked alongside them for a few years.

As they continued down the hallway, passing the normal marines, Dexter lifted his head high and nodded to them rather meaningfully, absorbing himself completely in the character he was playing. Glancing to his left, first at Armand, his good friend and captain, and then up to Glaedr, his soon-to-be-drinking-buddy-number-two he hoped, he noticed that they, just like him, were looking just a little nervous. Can't help it I suppose, he thought.

As they passed around a corner, a Graveler was doing the exact same thing, accidentally bumping into Dexter, causing him to stumble a little. Immediately Glaedr was on alert mode, his body became stiff and he was immediately ready for combat. The Graveler seemed about to speak up, but quickly widened his eyes in fear at realizing who they were (Or at least pretended to be). "I-I'm sorry, sir! I wasn't looking where I were going!"

Dexter took a moment to get back on his feet, his heart pounding in his chest from the surprise. He tugged on his coat to make sure it sat firmly in place and gave the Graveler a hearty smile, smacking his arm in a friendly manner. "That's alright, lad! Happens to everyone. Go on, go take a break. You look like you could need it."

The Graveler, both happy that he was out of the fire and confused at the officer's informality mumbled a 'thank you sir' and moved on down the hallway, hurrying slightly in case he should change his mind. The Dragonite just shook his head, wondering how the Pokemon in the navy were so clumsy and aloof nowadays.

Dexter sent the other two a glance, as if to say "... What?". They continued onwards, and now, at the end of this rather wide corridor, were a rather large, steel door indented into the wall. They were close now. They just had to keep up appearances for a little longer, get in, hide the gem, and get the hell out of there!

The most difficult part of this plan was to make sure they didn't get identified. Glaedr feared that some old timer from his days with the army would spot him and identify him, blowing the cover of all three of them. With his huge shape he didn't exactly blend into a crowd properly, so being able to hide was not a very easy task.

The small group of undercover pirates continued towards the steel door, when a voice made Glaedr freeze in his tracks.

"...Ah yes, I'd definitely like to see the jewel. I have to check the security around it."

No question about it, it was Captain Norton, the Pokemon he had worked under when he was a bounty hunter. He winced, Norton was the last Bisharp he wanted to meet at a moment like this. He had thought he would have retired by now, but no, he was still here. Always paranoid about security. Definitely not a person he would like to come face to face with right now.

He turned to his crew mates. The only logical solution right now was to formulate a plan. Maybe a distraction? "Hey, Cap'n. We've got a problem over here..." He explained how Captain Norton was a Pokemon they didn't need to encounter right now and how he was going to have no mercy if they were caught.

"I think Dexter or Cap'n should distract him or create a distraction to make sure we don't get caught and this place doesn't get turned into a war zone." Glaedr suggested. He wanted to get out with as little violence as possible.

Armand agreed. Besides, it wasn't like they were in any position to fight their way out. Even for the Shattered Skulls, taking on a base of Navy soldiers with three pirates wasn't the best odds. Armand spoke up.

"I'll distract the Captain. You two get through to the safe and the jewel. I'll catch up with you afterwards. Giving a wink to the two of them, Armand walked off to the direction of the Captain. It was a rather old Bisharp, but his eyes were sharp and fierce. Even though he was seasoned, he could tell he had lots of experience. Armand walked up to him and saluted. The Bisharp, confused by Armand's presence, saluted back.

"Lieutenant Guanno, I presume? Henderson told me about your unannounced visit. This is high irregular, I have to say..."

"Ah, yes!" Armand began. He decided to think quickly of an excuse that would fool the old officer. "Well, you see...ever since the Forsaken Pirate has been stealing essences, Command has been extra tight with security...sir."

The Bisharp gave Armand a long look. Armand thought for sure he was about to get caught. He thought about taking out his club right now and bashing it over the head of the old Pokemon, but decided against it when the Bisharp nodded in approval.

"About time they started taking his actions seriously. Now if you excuse me, I need to go check on the vault..."

"Err, that won't be necessary, sir!" Armand said, patting the Captain on the shoulder and forcing him to walk a different way. "My subordinates are taking care of security measures as we speak."

Another cold glance from the Captain, but it was met with a shrug of the shoulders afterwards. "Hmm...very well." He began. "I suppose I'll go have a nice nap. Thank you, Lieutenant."

"Anytime, sir." Armand said, grinning as he rubbed his hands together, watching the old Bisharp depart. Armand looked back at the direction of the vault, and headed the other way, back to the front of the base. He hoped the Glaedr and Dexter would get the jewel and meet him in the front. Armand began whistling slightly as he walked slowly towards the front of the base.

Meanwhile, as Armand was chattering away with the captain, Dexter and Glaedr hurried past the two, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible (And failing quiet badly), but they made it to the vault no less.

As they reached the vault's door, a Scyther was standing guard, crossing it's scythes as they neared. "Halt! State your business." he exlaimed.

Dexter gave Glaedr a look as if to say "I'll handle it." and stepped forwards, smiling smugly. "We're here on behalf of Shi Guanno on an unannounced inspection. We gotta get into t'vault and have a look 'round." Dexter jabbed a thumb back towards where Armand was standing.

The Scyther's eyes widened a little before nodding faintly. "Oh! Right, well, of course. Give me a moment..." he fiddled with the door, but eventually managed to pull it open, allowing Dexter and Glaedr to enter.

There were various treasures piled up here and there, and thankfully, the Scythe didn't see it fit to enter with the two. Dexter motion for Glaedr to come along and hurried over to the far side of the room, glancing around. "C'mon! It's gotta be here somewhere, we gotta be quick 'bout this..."

After a few moments of searching (And Dexter stuffing a couple of coins and a gemstone or two inside of his shell), Glaedr pointed out the rather large gem sitting on a piedestal, shining it's brilliant light onto the walls.

"... Beautiful. A'ight, uh... carry it under your cape or somethin'. Let's hurry and get t'hell out of here." He waited for Glaedr to hide the gem, as he quickly, but carefully, placed it in a small cloth and put it in his pocket before they both waltzed towards the vault door again, exiting.

Dexter nodded to the Scyther as he exited after Glaedr, trying to keep his cool. Armand had left, probably to go and be ready to head onto the ship, but he couldn't have gone far.
As they were leaving, a ruby dropped out from the underside of Dexter's shell, the Scyther blinking faintly. "Oh, uh, sir! You dropped something!" he said, reaching out towards Dexter, trying to tap him on his back.

Unfortunately, Dexter jumped a little as he did, causing the Scyther's scythe to slice down along his jacket, causing it to rip and fall apart, revealing the rather large mark of the Shattered Skull pirates painted onto his shell.

Set the Mood!

They all three stood, as if frozen to the spot, staring at each other, until Dexter gave Glaedr a shove with his elbow and yelling out "**** it, run!", the Scythe immediately calling out for backup. "Pirates! There's pirates in the base!"

From everywhere, they started hearing commotion, shouting and the flurry of feet hitting the floors, as Pokémon closed in on them, Dexter and Glaedr rushing down the hallway, finally spotting their captain. Dexter than called out "Cover's blown, let's get t'hell out of here!"

Armand didn't have to be told twice. With a grin, he removed his Navy outfit revealing his pirate band. Pokemon began closing in on the three of them. It was time to move. Armand made a break for the exit, but the Throh Henderson was blocking their exit, standing strong. Armand never stopped grinning as he apparently charged the Throh head on. The Throh stood his ground, confident that he could overpower the Marowak physically. But Armand had other plans. Taking out his bone club, he tossed the club right into the face of the Throh in a quick motion. Nailing him right in the eye, the Throh cried out and covered his eye and face. Armand used the Throh's arm as leverage and jumped right over him, heading for the exit. Behind him, attacks of the Naval Pokemon launched out, narrowly missing him a few times over the head. Glaedr quickly knocked out a few enemies without much problems as well, as he followed his captain.

"Haha!" Armand cried out as he exited the base, but the Naval Pokemon continued pursuit. They'd have to make a quick exit. Outside their ship, The Immortality, stood, the flag replaced with a 'borrowed' Navy flag they stole on an earlier voyage. With a smile, Captain Armand shouted out the orders to the others. Because the Shattered Skull pirates were only made up of the three of them, everyone had to do their part. "Glaedr, raise anchor! Dexter, ready the sails!"

As he assumed the others went about their duties, Armand swiftly climbed up to the top of the mast through the ropes and ripped off the Navy flag, replacing it with the familiar Pirate flag of the Shattered Skull pirates. Attacks of the Navy Pokemon continued, and a few began readying their own ships to sail.

"Time to get out of here, lads! Get it done!" He called down to Dexter and Glaedr, making his way down to the wheel.

"Aye aye cap'n!" Dexter called out, narrowly avoiding falling into the sea after having slid on his shell underneath the Throh's legs, Glaedr using it's weakened state to simply shove it aside, being as massive as he was.

Dexter quickly dashed over to the railing of the ship and climbed up the rigging, expertly swinging on the mast and the ropes, grasping onto a particular rope which he swiftly undid the knot of, and lept down, pulling the rope with his weight as he did, narrowly avoiding an ice beam shooting overheads, as the sail fell down and he landed on the deck of the ship.

Casting a glance over at the exit of the base, several Pokémon were firing beams, rocks, leaves and every other kind of attack at them to try and stop them. "Hah! G'luck with that! The Immortality ain't gonna be sunk by t'likes 'f you!" he called out with a confident grin as he ran over to the rail and tied off the rope, the wind quickly catching onto the sail as Dexter glanced over towards Glaedr to see if he needed any help with the anchor, though he probably didn't. He was -really- strong, in comparison to both Armand and Dexter.

Glaedr didn't have any problems at all, he raised the anchor without needing any sort of help from his companions. He had to dodge a few stray attacks from the officers though, but they were not strong enough to even shake him. In fact, they were more irritating than damaging, and Glaedr just felt annoyed as he worked on deck. He helped the ship to finally set sail, and they were off, with the jewel safe with them as well. A grin spread over his face, but Glaedr knew this battle wasn't over yet. He spotted the ships of the naval officers set sail as well, hot in pursuit of the pirates.

It was quite a small ship, but them being only the three of them to maintain it, it seemed fine that it was. The fact that it was smaller, only meant that it was faster as well! The ship was maneuvered by an expert sailor as well, so there was no way they wouldn't be able to escape this place safely.

"Keep a lookout, Dexter!" Gleadr yelled, then jabbed a finger towards one of the ships. "I'll take care of those..." He muttered, as he spread his majestic wings and kicked off the deck of the ship, soaring through the air towards one of the three ships that was following them. He landed on it, and immediately picked up a Scyther from it, before Sky Dropping him from above which formed a huge hole in the ship. he continued his attack on the ship, as he threw more and more officers off the ship and effectively managed to subdue one of their followers. One down, two to go.

The other two ships were slowly beginning to fall behind the smaller, faster Immortality. In a head on fight, the odds wouldn't be in their favor, but one of the specialties of Pirates is running away, and the Shattered Skulls were becoming exceedingly efficient at it. Armand was now at the wheel, maneuvering from all manner of attacks as he rotated the ship left and right while still maintaining and strengthening the distance between them. In a last effort to bring down the Pirate Ship, both Naval ships fired attacks from their Water Pulse cannons, which were fueled by the Pokemon on the ship. Armand momentarily released the wheel and jumped to the ledge of the ship in the direction the attacks came from, and prepared. Gathering up energy, Armand tapped into the power of his Thunder Bolt fruit and launched out a powerful Devil fruit-fueled Thunder Bolt at the incoming attacks. The attacks instantly fused with the Thunder Bolt and evaporated from the heat of the heightened ability. Grinning, Armand bowed towards the two ships, and then waved at them as they became smaller and smaller. Risky as this was, the Shattered Skull Pirates came away with the jewel as well as one more insane story under their belts.

"Well done, lads!" Armand said, approaching the two of them. "Now, let's see it!" he said, excited as Glaedr took the gem out and showed it to the Captain. Armand's eyes sparkled as he held the gem in his hands. "Hahaha! This is deserving of a toast!" He said, scrambling over to the side of the ship and grabbing three mug, pouring it for the other two. Handing them the liquid, he held his high in victory.

"A toast to the Shattered Skull Pirates. Another day, another adventure!" The three toasted their mugs together, and drank. As Armand finished his drink, he wiped away his face, and looked at the jewel once more, before looking around on his ship. There, he spotted a Pelipper mail sitting on the deck.

"What's this?" Armand said, walking over to the mail. He picked it up, curiously observing who could have sent it to them, and more importantly what was it's purpose. Rarely do pirates get letters like this, especially since they were...well, pirates. Armand opened it up, and read it to them.

Dear Captain,

Being a loyal servant of the Pirate Council, I, together with my Council Heads, summon you to the Headquarters in full faith of your arrival. There are some things that require our attention, and we need your help. Come to the headquarters soon as possible. Also, send word to your respective Council Captain, via Pelipper Mail of course, when you reach the island. I am expecting you.

Signed,
Heil of the Axe, Pirate Council President.

Looking up at the two of them, Armand gave them a wide grin.

"What did I tell you? Plot a course to the Pirate Council Island, lads! Adventure awaits!"

Dexter Aroughs
The high seas

About half a day after having set sail from the island of Ishumo where the navy base lay, Dexter was resting in the crow's nest, leaning on the edge of the barrel that made up said crow's nest. He was in the middle of picking his teeth with one of his claws, humming idly to himself.
They had just finished one of their meals. It had been Glaedr's turn to cook for them. As their crew consisted of just the three of them, it was fairly necessary for them to switch between some of the duties, and none of them had any problem with that. At least not as far as Dexter could tell.

He let out a loud belch, patting the stomach of his shell with a grin, flicking the toothpick overboard before taking in a deep breath of the salty sea-air, seeming quite content. Although Glaedr hadn't said anything about his cooking skills earlier, he was actually a rather good cook, despite hardly being able to fit within their little cabin. At some point they'd have to get a bigger ship, but for now, The Immortality was perfect for them.

After a few moments of enjoying the lovely afternoon air, Dexter quirked a brow, squinting into the distance before smiling widely and banging the side of the barrel before calling out to the two on the deck below.
" 'Ey! Land ho, y'guys! We'll be on t'council island in 'bout an hour or so if we keep up this speed!"
It was going to be interesting to see what Heil and the council wanted with them, but there was nothing to do but wait and see now.

He grinned broadly from the excitement starting to build up again, so he did what he always did when he got a little nervous about an upcoming heist or plan to be set in motion. He lifted his hands and tugged down the goggles resting on his forehead, placing them over his eyes, jumping onto the side of the barrel.
"I'll just have a lil' swim cap'n!" he called out before leaping off of the side of the barrel, laughing as he tugged himself into his shield, shooting into the water.

The Council Island

As they were walking up along the paved road, towards the council's large building, Dexter couldn't help but glance around at the different pirates gathered here, the usual anxiousness and excitement he experienced having sunk a little, as had his usual grin and cheerful façade. He was looking around for something, or someone.

Armand noticed this and gave his head a little shake, patting Dexter's shoulder. "Listen, I know you want to find him, but there's no way a rogue pirate like him would be here, of all places. Come on, we have a meeting to go to. And you had that idea for an entrance, right?"
He grinned to Dexter, who rolled his shoulder a little, snorting. "I wasn't lookin' for him, just tryin' to see if there were any pretty pirate lassies 'round. But yeah! I think you'll like it. Firstly, y'gotta wear this." He said, his grin returning as he handed Armand a rather large, black cloak with the emblem of the Shattered Skull Pirates on it's back.

"Don't ask me where or when I got it. 'S just what I do." He said, to answer Armand's questioning gaze with a snicker before turning to Glaedr, pointing up at him. " 'N you just gotta look menacin', a'ight Glaedr? Fold y'arms or somethin', y'can probably make somethin' work!"
Giving the red cloth around his neck a little tug, he smirked while he looked up at the large building in front of them, which was most likely a greeting area, where the pirates who were going to be in audience of the council had to wait for them to be ready. If they weren't the first here, there was bound to be others in there.
"It's show-time."

A moment later, the doors to the waiting-building burst open and Dexter entered, having kicked the doors open. He proceeded to take two, long (For a Wartortle that is) steps into the building before calling out, loud enough for anyone to hear.
"Ladies 'n gentlepirates, it's t'time you've all been waitin' for! Representin' t'Shattered Skull Pirates comin' home from their latest amazin' adventure in t'high seas, give it up for ARMAAAAAAND THE SKUUUULL KIIIIING!"

As he cried out the last part, he stepped aside, swung his arms around to add emphasis, like some sort of wrestling announcer, he pointed both of his arms towards Armand as he entered, the cape billowing behind him, followed closely by Glaedr slightly behind him and to the right.
After the rather flashy and cheesy introduction, Dexter walked up next to his captain, grinning broadly, folding his arms across his chest as well.
"Nailed it."

Tylor "The Phantom" Grubas
Pirate Headquarters

Tylor stopped dragging his crew after a while and was content to just snicker to himself. "Think about it crew! The Forsaken! We're finally get to meet him!" Tylor had to stop and just laugh even louder. Damon sighed as he crossed his arms, "You know, you're going to be late to the meeting. You can still get there first and prove our superiority to everyone."

Tylor looked up at him and grinned, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Tylor looked back at his crew, "Alright, when we get up there we're going to make a grand entrance! We're going to show everyone who the boss is! We're going to kick those doors open and just wait for everyone else to come in just to see us sitting in the best seats!"

"Captain, how will we know what the best seats are?" Thomas asked.

"Well Thomas, we're just claim some and say they are the best! No one will ever know!" Tylor crackled with laughter once more.

"Well, what are we waiting for Tylor?" Damon asked with a big grin, "Go on and forever claim our superiority!"

"Hell yeah!" Tylor shouted as he and Damon pounded their fists into each other. "Alright, follow my lead crew!" Tylor walked to the building and up the right up to the entrance to notice... the door wide open... and Armand and his crew already inside. "...from their latest amazin' adventure in t'high seas, give it up for ARMAAAAAAND THE SKUUUULL KIIIIING!" Armand and his crew were even posing! They had no right!

Tylor just stood there slack jawed before his anger returned full blast. He stormed inside, "Doesn't anyone read signs anymore!?" He demanded angrily. He came right up to Armand and poked him hard in the chest, "We were here first! Not you and your crew but mine!"

Thomas looked ready to pull the captain away but Tylor let out a deep breath, "Today is not my day." He muttered. He walked away and slumped into a chair and noticed some fruit on the table and grabbed one of them and began to chew on it. "Oh, and what 'amazing adventures' did you and your crew partake in to warrant taking away my grand entrance!?" He snapped.

Damon sighed, "You know, you shouldn't be rude to them."

Tylor glared at him, "Yes I can be."

"No you can't."

"Can!"

"Can't!"

"Can! Infinity!"

Damon frowned, "That's not fair." He said after a while.

"Yes, it is totally fair." Tylor replied smugly as he continued to eat.

Damon rolled his eyes, "Fine, but still, I am interested in what they did. They did say it was amazing."

Tylor snorted, "Amazing my a**. They just came up with that excuse because they wanted to crash my entrance." Tylor finished the last of the fruit and popped the core into his mouth and crushed it down with his sharp teeth.

Damon chuckled, "Still, if they have a tale to tell I say let them tell. Never know what you might find out..."

Tylor grumbled and looked over at Armand, "Fine. Spill it. What did you do that made you feel high and mighty that you had to come in with a freaking cape?"

Armand "The Skull King" Roberts- Pirate Council Island

As Dexter burst the doors open and announced the Shattered Skull's arrival, Armand strode inside with the cape they had just attached to him, and a huge grin across his face. He stuck out his chest more and held his head high, as if to emphasize himself with more brilliance. If he had hair, he would have taken extra steps to have it slowly breezing in the wind. But Armand made due with what he had. He admitted in his mind that this might have been a bit silly, but in times like these, and especially with the good mood he was in, silly was just fine by him.

Dexter, after announcing Armand, walked up to the right of him as the three strode forward, speaking to him with the same huge grin Armand had. "Nailed it." He said. Armand chuckled in response. "That you did." He added. Before any more words could be spoken between the three of them, another Pirate approached the three of them, immediately going in front of Armand and began screaming into his face, while poking him in the chest.

"Doesn't anyone read signs anymore!? We were here first! Not you and your crew but mine!"

Armand's smile slightly dropped as his eyes went between the Sabeleye's eyes and his finger between them. The Sabeleye went between speaking loudly to Armand to talking to someone who Armand believed wasn't there. Armand thought it odd at first, but decided not to judge. After all, from all of the stories of Armand's insanity and craziness passed around, he was in no position to judge. But Armand slowly began to realize who this was. He had heard of the fellow pirate captain, Tylor Grubas, known as the Phantom. One of the rumors he had heard was how the Captain managed to take down three other captains who were after him at the time. However, the only rumor Armand was particularly interested in was that involving cards. He made a mental note never to play him. The other crewmates he had heard of under The Phantom were Thomas Fallows, said to have dread luck, and the one called the "Madman of the Seas", who they say was just a tad cuckoo. Again, Armand was in no position to judge. Some of the rumors surrounding him point to the face that the Croconaw was in some ways, similar to Armand anyways, at least in their recklessness.

After Tylor's apparent spout with apparently no one, he concluded with a question, or perhaps demand to Armand.

"Fine. Spill it. What did you do that made you feel high and mighty that you had to come in with a freaking cape?"

Armand began to laugh. "Haha! You're missing the point, lad!" Armand said. "We didn't enter as we did because of something grand we did. We entered here the way we did because of who we are! We're the Shattered Skulls Pirates, and we don't do anything unless it's grand in scale and sizzling with adventure! Oh, ending up with us having a bit of shine, too." Armand chuckled.

As if remembering something right away, he added this in. "Oh! But we did steal the legendary Jewel of Partiis from right under the Navy's nose...so I guess that may have warranted the grand entrance."

Armand looked around the room where the others stood, and wondered what happened next. "But enough about what we did. I'm more interested in what we be going to do! Captain Heil sent us a letter calling us here. Mmm...I can already smell the adventure comin', can't you?" He said, looking at the Phantom, then to Dexter and Glaedr a smile on his face.

Taz Jr. Nautilus Morrigan "The Madman of the Seas"
Pirate HQ

Nautilus walked over from their table to Tylor who had a conversation with Armand, the captain of the Shattered Skull. The Croconaw grinned as he walked elegantly like he was some kind of prince; he was bringing about the rumours of that pirate in his mind. He seemed to be capable... a worthy opponent.

"Fine. Spill it. What did you do that made you feel high and mighty that you had to come in with a freaking cape?"

Said Tylor, grumbling. Nautilus stood behind his captain with the same evil grin as before, his eyes half shut like he was about to laugh and his arms shuffling something in his belt. Despite his seemingly cocky, careless stance of a pirate, in truth he was observing Armand.

"Haha! You're missing the point, lad!" Armand said. "We didn't enter as we did because of something grand we did. We entered here the way we did because of who we are! We're the Shattered Skulls Pirates, and we don't do anything unless it's grand in scale and sizzling with adventure! Oh, ending up with us having a bit of shine, too."

I like this guy, he's no pushover like the rest, thought Nautilus, maintaining his expression although what Armand said might caused a brain explosion to his captain; he didn't mind though.

"Oh! But we did steal the legendary Jewel of Partiis from right under the Navy's nose...so I guess that may have warranted the grand entrance."

The Croconaw's grin became bigger. Of course he wouldn't be able to resist bragging about it... He tapped the Sableye's shoulder with meaning.

Armand looked around the room."Oh but enough about what we did. I'm more interested in what we be going to do! Captain Heil sent us a letter calling us here. Oh...I can already smell the adventure comin', can't you?"

Nautilus jumped into the conversation, while glancing at Armand's crew, evaluating them; they seemed powerful enough to destroy a ship in a matter of seconds. Brawl don't matter w'thout brains, he thought and glanced at his captain; his loud voice cracking in the conference room.

"That right, Armand. We were called here fer a reason: the Forsaken! And now we're gonna fight 'em like a team, right?! Right?"

Nautilus' tone was ascending rapidly to a point where he would shout "RIGHT" on top of his lungs with his pirate accents; he bursted into friendly laughter, compelling everyone to laugh with him.

Tylor "The Phantom" Grubas
Pirate Headquarters

"Oh! But we did steal the legendary Jewel of Partiis from right under the Navy's nose...so I guess that may have warranted the grand entrance." Tylor almost choked on the core he had eaten and began to cough. He managed to quickly recover just as Madman tapped him on the shoulder. Tylor fought the urge to sport a huge grin. The idiot had just blurted out that he had the Jewel on his ship! How stupid could you be!? Tylor waited until Madman's laughter died down and turned to Armand. "Puh-leaze! Why wouldn't we be here if we weren't being sent on some life risking adventure? Anyway, I know a good way to relax any tension!"

Tylor shouted for Thomas and the machop came over. Tylor grabbed the supplies Thomas was carrying and blew the sand off of them before he set down a deck of cards and opened a bag and took out some dice. Tylor did a double take and frowned at the dice.

Damon looked over, "Doing that again are we?"

Tylor frowned at him and instead put the dice back in the bag. "You got the wrong dice Thomas." He said flatly.

The machop paled, "I did captain?"

Tylor just put threw the dice back into the bag and grumbled to himself as he tied the sack back up. He gave the bag to Madman, "Madman, I can at least count on you. Go and get my lucky dice now! Better get back soon." He muttered. In truth he wasn't mad at all at Thomas. Those were his lucky dice. He couldn't say anything else that might make Armand suspicious of his plan. Tylor had done this many times. Find an excuse to get Madman away from the table, have him loot some stuff, put it on his boat, and then just sail away laughing all the while. The plan was fool proof!

Damon chuckled, "How many times have you pulled this stunt? So, how long do you think it'll take Taz to head over and get that Jewel?"

Tylor said nothing and turned to Armand again, this time with a smile back on his face. "So, how about it? I'll be short one player but we can make it a five man game. No coins, already got a big bag just a while ago! Come on Thomas, improve your skills!"

Thomas nervously sat in a chair as Tylor began to shuffle the cards. "Armand, you and your crew sit down too! No better way to get to know another pokemon then by seeing how they deal with stress!" Tylor shuffled in extravagant patterns, often performing Russian shuffles and other tricks before he finally finished shuffling and in less than ten seconds had passed out two cards to five different seats. "Come on, sit down and relax and have an entertaining game of blackjack! Like I said, no money so no need to worry Thomas!" He patted the sweating machop on the back.

"Puh-leaze! Why wouldn't we be here if we weren't being sent on some life risking adventure? Anyway, I know a good way to relax any tension!"

The Sableye shouted for the Machop who came running with a bag; Nautilus didn't pay much attention. He smirked, still grinning, seeing his captain unfold his cards and take out his lucky dice out of the bag; oh he knew very well about that dice. Nautilus wondered what his captain was up to, Tylor frowned at the air next to him, then turned to Machop and said flatly:

"You got the wrong dice Thomas."

Nautilus resisted chuckling as he immediately got where captain was going with it. He still had that grin, that grin which revealed half of his teeth, but now it had something childish and ironic in it.
Tylor gave the bag to Nautilus and said, "Madman, I can at least count on you. Go and get my lucky dice now! Better get back soon."

The Croconaw grabbed the leather bag and nodded, while shouting in a melodic voice with pirate accent, having a stunning acting ability, master of all lies.

"Aye captain, goin' righ'a-way, but don't let that scumbag Machop get away with punishment again!"

He said and walked off normally, headed outside the Pirate HQ; atop the hill, every corner of the island was visible. Nobody was around, Nautilus chuckling cheerfully at his captain's deceiving skills; his cheeky, red eyes flashed as he spotted the Immortality docked at the coast. He lost his grin, licked his lips as he ran down the hill, passing through the trees.
The Immortality was a proud ship, Nautilus recognized that. But it didn't have that something Tylor's ship had; Armand's ship had set its anchor quite some distance from the beach; Nautilus was unable to swim due to his fruit. He smirked in anger, disliking the slightest set back, looked around and remembered the boats in that wooden dock somewhere near. He dropped on his four and darted through the beach and reached the spot after a brief 3 minutes; there was this wooden logs ascending from the water, forming some kind of port; another ship Nautilus didn't recognize had docked here, and he started wondering who it belonged to; the ship was very old and it had no sails in it.

"What the heck?"

Nautilus shook off the strange feeling that boat gave him and focused on the mission; he spotted two smaller boats in the beach, next to the logs; they seemed like they were used recently. The Croconaw flipped one of them over and dragged it to the sea, smiling evily as he looked towards the Immortality.

A shady figure jumped onto the Immortality, flying through the air like a drill. Nautilus landed with a crack on the deck, feeling the adrenaline in his veins and the need to laugh.

"Now where would these fools put their so called legendary jewel?"

He said to himself, looking around the deck; he couldn't help but admire Armand's ship, seemed like it had many capabilities. The crook stared at the door to the inside of the ship, and without giving it much thought, he swinged his spit water at it, then swinged his tail smashing into pieces with a powerful Aqua Tail.

"Yeah.. sorry 'bout that!"

He shouted sarcastically as he bolted inside, opened the first door he came across with; he didn't know what kind of room that was, but he spotted a black chest that had the insignia of the Shattered Skull, a locked chest.

"Ooh baby, a lock!"

Nautilus' eyes widened in excitement; he had big plans for that lock. He opened his powerful jaws and crunched at it, shaking the whole chest in process; the steel was ripped apart in second, Nautilus spitting the remains of the lock onto the ground with a comical move while chuckling:

"Heheh"

He stared into the chest, seeing only gold. He slammed his hand on the table with anger, throwing off everything that had in it.His next move was to search the entire ship for the jewel; having no success, he furiously slashed the wooden wall, his menacing eyes flashing in the darkness of belowdecks.
He thought some gold would reward him for the trouble, he went upstairs and grabbed the chest he had seen.

"Now that will do.. Ha! Losers!"

He shouted, jumping off the ship, landing with force onto the waving boat he had tied onto Immortality.

Ten minutes later, he was walking away from his ship, laughing his butt off with his eyes locked onto the pirate HQ and the leather bag tied onto his neck weighting him down.

("oh well, that will do")

Glaedr - Shattered Skull Pirates
Pirate HQ

Glaedr stood beside his crew with a serious look, and folded arms just like his crewmate had suggested. He had already know that though... this reminded him of his old days as a bodyguard for hire. He almost sighed, but he knew he couldn't let emotions get in the line of work. He remained silent for most part, but tensed a bit when the Sableye jabbed his captain and started to exhibit clear signs of jealousy. Glaedr held both his tongue and his hand, knowing that his own captain would be able to able to handle the situation with ease.

The Sabeye and his crew was an odd bunch, all of them seemed hyperactive His captain was engaged in conversation with those odd bunch of people, Glaedr didn't pay too mcuh attention to it, until his captain told them some sensitive information.

"Oh! But we did steal the legendary Jewel of Partiis from right under the Navy's nose...so I guess that may have warranted the grand entrance."

Glaedr resisted the urge to both glare at his captain and tap his pocket with the jewel. The statement had managed to get quite a reaction from the other crew. The Sableye flinched, and Glaedr could see all of them discuss something as the Sableye made his crew member fetch a deck of cards. It seemed like he had messed up though, as he handed the bag to the Croconaw to fetch the 'lucky' dice.

"Madman, I can at least count on you. Go and get my lucky dice now! Better get back soon."

So the Croconaw was called Madman. A rather weird name for a Pokemon, but Glaedr didn't really care. The Pokemon announced his departure and left the place with Glaedr looking at him with a suspicious stare. He was always suspicious of people, always observing them. His whole group was an eccentric type, and this whole concept of a 'lucky dice' struck as quite odd to him. He remembered a pair of Pichu had once tried to cheat one of his clients in a game of dice, when they had mixed some magnetic material in the dice and controlled it using their electric powers. Ever since then, he had always been vary of this dice, and wanted to see if the dice the Croconaw was getting were indeed legal.

"Armand, you and your crew sit down too! No better way to get to know another pokemon then by seeing how they deal with stress!" The Sableye spoke, shuffling the deck like an expert. Glaedr frowned and leaned towards his captain.

"I won't be playing, I'm heading out for a bit." He spoke quietly, and walked out of the HQ. He wasn't interested in the game or anything, he was more interested in seeing where the Croconaw was going to get the dice from. He looked around, trying to locate the Croconaw, but he was a fast fellow and had already disappeared. Glaedr sighed and patted his pocket, the Jewel was still there, safe.

"The Jewel isn't safe here with me... There are too many pickpockets around." Glaedr thought, eyeing a small Drowzee getting too close to him. As soon as he raised his hand to get to his pocket, Glaedr quickly smacked him in the neck with a swift jab, and the Drowzee immediately collapsed.

"Better put this in the chest..." He thought. He started walking towards the Immortality, which was docked nearby. But as soon as he got on board, he immediately spotted the broken door and the damaged walls. The whole place had been wrecked by somebody who seemed to have sharp claws. Glaedr immediately head inside, and saw the contents of their precious chest was gone. Glaedr closed his fists, as anger boiled inside him.

"No, Glaedr, calm down... Think about who could have done this..." He muttered, closing his eyes. Somebody crazy... somebody who actually had something specific he wanted to go for. Somebody who knew about the jewel... maybe it was somebody from the HQ where his captain had announced about finding the jewel.

That Croconaw. He was the only one who had left the HQ to find some 'lucky dice' Glaedr knew he had some amount of reason to be suspicious. of the pirates, and now he was definitely going to get revenge. He made sure the Jewel was still safe in his pocket and quickly worked his way towards the HQ once again.

He barged right in, not caring about who he toppled in the process. He stomped towards the table with the Sabeye, obviously angry about the whole robbery. He launched himself at the Sableye, grabbing him by the throat and pushed him towards the wall.

"It seems like a certain ship's been robbed... and it's your crew member who's missing."

[OOC: I hope I didn't bunny Tylor too much, if I did, just tell me. >_> Btw Nautilus, you better watch now, Glaedr's after you.]

"It seems like a certain ship's been robbed... and it's your crew member who's missing."

Nautilus walked in the room just when the Dragonite grabbed his captain by the throat; the Madman would laugh if it wasn't serious. He would laugh, but not at his captain; at the foolish Dragonite holding his eyes close to the Sableye - he didn't worry one bit about him for now. He rushed towards them, with an angry expression on his eyes, and pushed away the Dragonite; he knew he was no match for him on a one on one battle, but he figured Armand wouldn't want to start a fight in the Pirate HQ.

"What's your beef pal? Let go of my captain if you value your life, fool!"

His anger made his face red as he gave death stares to the dragon. Still looking at him, he helped Tylor get up and before he could say anything else, another loud and deep voice cracked into the room...

- Pirate Council -
Pirate captain Heil of the Axe, head of the Pirate Council, frowned upon the view of the pirate crews that had gathered in the room; the Haxorus disliked all this messy procedure, and disapproved the lack of discipline by the rest of the pirate leaders that were all sitting in the middle of the room in a circular table, each captain having their crews behind them. The five pirate heads, Heil of the Axe, a Haxorus with a pirate band that seemed like a hat, Morrison Faglio, a Manectric with a monocle and golden shoulderpads, Captain Ingo, a frowning, scarred Gengar with a pirate band onto his head, Captain Popo, the bloodied Furret and Captain "Azure Flute", the Roserade beauty were quietly sitting on their chairs, giving each other glances. It all seemed like an opera - the captains were the actors, the others watching them from above. The council was about to start, the pirates making so much fuss, the Haxorus stood up and spoke with his deep voice:

"Pirates, hear me out! It's about time we get this over with!"

Everyone was silent in an instant; the Haxorus raised his draconic head and looked all around the room with a faint smile on his face. Heil's voice was echoed in the silence.
"You probably have heard this story before. But allow me recount things from the beggining; things have changed in this world, the world of Wayard. Two of the ancient objects with prehistoric power we call Soul Essences..."

He smirked, glancing at the powerful pirate leaders next to him, Ingo and Faglio, and said after a brief moment:

"... were stolen."

Everybody had heard this of course. Even the Pokemon living in the wild had noticed, the room remained silent, holding their breathes under his heart-gripping voice.

"You have been summoned here by me, the head of the Pirate Council, Heil of the Axe, by letter. We are requesting your services."

While every other pirate captain was sitting down, Heil put away his chair and started walking circles around the council's table, with his arms behind his back, his eyes travelling from table to table as he continued his speech.

"I must inform you, that this is not an order given from us, the pirate leaders of each of Wayard's corners; Supreme Admiral Yale of the Navy has requested our assistance in finding the one responsible for this.. outrageous income with the artifacts I mentioned before; that pirate, calling himself the Forsaken, has announced that he will control the Navy with such power, and therefore control the world. Now I am quite aware that most of you dislike the Navy and would rather go continue your work, and I agree with you."

After a dramatic pause, the mightiest of all pirates spoke again in an even more serious tone.

"But, I ask you this question: what freedom lies with us, if we let the Forsaken do as he pleases? What treasure will there be for us to acquire if this lone pirate claims the world for his own? We will choose to be his minions, or his defiant, always free pirates?"

Heil's deep voice was getting stronger with each question, and its force was so inspiring some of the pirates shouted hooray and yeah! to which Heil responded by simply closing his eyes and raising his strong arm to stop the disturbances.

"Now, now."

The Haxorus fixed his pirate hat, crossed his arms and turned to Captain Morisson Faglio, the gentleman pirate and a former Navy officer, a Manectric with a monocle and golden shoulderpads.

"Captain Faglio, fill us in on the Forsaken."

Faglio seemed disturbed by Heil's ordering tone, but he stood up, his front feet on the table as Heil sat down quietly, settling down on his chair which almost cracked under his massive weight, glanced at Armand, the Captain of the Shattered Skull pirates. The new voice that cracked in the room was strangely high, but it had almost the same might as the Haxorus'.

".. All the information we have about the Forsaken is from his mails to the Naval HQ, which could not be tracked back to the sender - the Pelippers delivering the letters claim they do not keep track of who is sending what for privacy matters... but that just makes our work harder. Anyway - in those letters, at first, we, and by we, I mean the Naval and Pirate HQ altogether, regarded the Forsaken as a foolish, ambituous and lone pirate that seeked recognition; but with his second later, we started considering him as a true threat - not only to the Naval HQ, but to the entire world and the Pirate HQ, respectively. He is claiming he has stolen the two weather essences, the Groudon's Ray and the Kyogre's Raindrop; we noticed massive weather changes in various regions of Wayard, in result the theft, as well as the folklore about the legendary Soul Essences, to be considered a hundred per cent true."

The news were shocking, Heil grunted and Ingo, the Gengar coughed, as Faglio continued to speak.

"That being said, the Forsaken is now pretty much able to control the weather, which will be a great asset for him. Not only he will be able to crush our ships with terrible, non-stop rains and thunderstorms, but he will also drought the land we set foot on in search of the Soul Essences. As you all know, we are not quite sure about his motives or his intentions towards us, the pirates, and we do not have a single clue about his whereabouts - but, we do have an advantage: we can search for the elements freely, in the four corners of this world, while he has to be hiding. And of course, we also have the full support of the Naval HQ!"

Ingo coughed again and said;

"More like they have the full support of us..."

Heil stood up and faced Ingo, seemingly angered by the Gengar's mouthful remark; but Ingo looked Heil in the eye and continued speak with a nerve of a true pirate; he was the oldest pirate, once the wisest amongst the Pirate Heads.

"It's true, Heil! They're using us, and you do nothing about it!"

The Haxorus slammed his strong fist on the wooden table, shaking it entirely.

"That's disrespect towards the Head of the Pirate Council, Ingo! Are you doubting me? What, are you gonna start a rebellion in the middle of a council?"

He seemed like he was going to attack Ingo for a moment, but he contained his anger; Ingo settled down as well with a small grunt, the worried Faglio sitting back as well, now the Roserade, Azure Flute getting up from her chair. She winked at Tylor and his crew, before she glanced at Heil who nodded, giving her permission to speak, her charming but strong voice running across the room into the ears of everyone.

"Ahem, now that got over this little incident.." she paused, choosing her words, "Like dear Faglio here said before, we won't only need to search for the Forsaken, because we literally have no idea where he is - he could be even be one of us! Could you imagine?"

She chuckled, obviously picturing what she just said; Heil tapped his feet on the floor, making a terrible sound of steel-like claws scratching a rock as he gave the Roserade a death stare.

"On the subject, Flute"

She seemed quite annoyed, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and continued.

"We thought of instead searching for the Forsaken, search for the Soul Essences themselves - yes, you heard right! Seek and take the Essences, only to secure them by that rotten scourge calling himself Forsaken, and use them, in order to find the rest. Anyway, the Naval HQ has dug up all the folklore it could find about those wonderful jewels, and it seems like we will able to track the locations of most of them, with your help of course."

The Furret with the bloodied fur that was sitting silently on his seat, looking at the ground the whole time, now gently coughed; everyone looked at him, Heil motioned his eyebrow with his arms crossed.

"Excuse me for interrupting you, missey. But who the heck guarantees us that the use of the Soul Essences won't bring the destruction of Wayard? It'd be wiser, in my opinion, to just trap each essence and wait for that Forsaken pirate-wannabe to show up and then we capture or simply kill him, pronto! No need for fussing for the elements!"

His voice sounded high like Faglio's, but childish as well; Heil remained on his seat with his arms crossed, his serious expression fading away.

"Popo, what you're suggesting is impossible. I believe the Forsaken is truly powerful and news for a trap will surely travel across the world, reaching his ears and therefore ruining it - he'll never show up, or he'll just search for the rest of the many Essences; and we can't trap all of them. So, we're sticking to the original plan: find and conquer all the Essences before the Forsaken, and we will meet him on our way there, I'm sure of that. And when that happens, we will crush him like the puny imbecile he is"

Heil continued his speech, after taking a deep breathe everyone heard; he stood up again, walking around the table with the head pirates.

"Now we do have some information regarding the location of a Soul Essence; an ancient source we found in Terra suggests that the "Being of Inspiration" is living somewhere on the Northwest; the translation of the tablet claims that the name of that being is "Mesprit", and it is gifted with the Soul Essence which has the power to inspire the heart - we call it Mesprit's Heart. Its shape is unknown, however that is little of importance to us. What we do need to know, though, is how enter its "resting chamber". Folklore also speaks about a trap in there, a trap for any intruder to come."

Heil raised his right arm with on claw in the air, looking around the pirates; his deep voice was heard once again.

"So, without further ado, and with Azure Flute's permission, we, the mightiest pirates of Wayard, will sail the Northwest Sea Zone's waters in search of that elusive Iris Island Range, where Mesprit rests!"

As Heil roared proudly and the rest of the pirates followed him, a bulky, shady figure wearing a black robe with a hood exited the room subtly; the figure ran down the hill of the Pirate HQ with high speed, jumped onto a tree without having much problem with its robe, then jumped onto another tree and then onto another until it disappeared in the forest.

Pirate HQ

Dexter was grinning broadly from their captain's announcement, standing next to him with his arms crossed over his chest, glancing around at the various Pokémon here. Not a lot were gathered, and right now, the focus of the Shattered Skull pirates were the ones in front of them, led by a Sableye. Didn't seem all that impressive to Dexter, but he had learned and experienced that looks can very easily be deceiving.

But enough about what we did. I'm more interested in what we be going to do! Captain Heil sent us a letter calling us here. Mmm...I can already smell the adventure comin', can't you?" his captain said, causing Dexter to nod and grin even broader than before. "Sure can, cap'n. Always lookin' for a new adventure, eh?"

As the Pokémon began bickering about some lucky dice or cards or something. Dexter didn't pay much attention, his eyes moving towards the Croconaw who got up and left to fetch whatever it was that was missing. This did ring a couple of bells with Dexter, but he shrugged it off as Glaedr left a moment later. Good thing he could count on him to keep their stuff safe.

The Sableye then began shuffling and handing out cards. Dexter glanced at Armand as if to say "Glaedr's making sure everything's fine", shrugging his shoulders with a carefree smile, moving over to sit himself down in front of his cards. "Eh, I s'pose we can have a couple games while waitin' f'the council, eh cap'n?"

A couple of games went by, without much happening, a couple of laughters shared, some fruit eaten (Since there was nothing to drink) until Glaedr returned and promptly slammed the Sableye against the wall, growling out his suspicion. Dexter was quickly on the floor, having kicked his chair backwards in the process, ready to fire an ice beam and whoever decided to try to take on Glaedr, though the Croconaw hadn't come back yet.

Just as he had thought that, the Croconaw rushed into the room and shoved away Glaedr, Dexter hurrying up to the side of his friend, narrowing his eyes. "That bag 'round y'neck looks awfully heavy. How 'bout I-" and that's about the gist of what he got to say as the doors to the council's room were burst open and the council members came into sight through the doors. With a final snort and a glance towards the Croconaw, Dexter turned his attention to Heil.

As the council spoke back and forth, Dexter became increasingly worried for their fair Wayward. It might not always have been the best place to be, at least not for Dexter, but it was, after all, where he and his friends were, and he wasn't planning to simply give it up to some idiot who managed to steal some relics that let him control the weather.

At the idea of one of the pirates present might be the Forsaken, Dexter did take a quick glance around the room, even to the council members, his gaze lingering on Azure Flute for a few moments. He then shook his head a little and followed along the meeting once more. Eventually, Heil roared out about heading off to search for one of these Soul Essences and Dexter chimed in, raising his arms into the air with a "Whoo!"

The future might not look too bright, but with adventure in sight, and with your two friends and crewmates at your side, not a lot could go wrong. He sent a glance to the right, towards the Sableye and his crew and snorted a little. Almost nothing.

Tylor "The Phantom" Grubas
Pirate Headquarters

A little bit after Madman left the Dragonite that served with Armand also left. Tylor didn't let himself fret over it. Instead, he enjoyed several games, all of which he won. And of course, Thomas lost each game in the first two or three turns. It was just regular Thomas. If they had been playing it was highly possible that Thomas would have, once again, gone to the bar to drink away his troubles. Still, it was always fun to see how others would deal with him and Damon. Perhaps the funniest part was having Damon use his keen senses to pick out signs in the others. The occasional twitch when one gets a bad hand or the small smile when one picked up a card that they needed. Of course, Damon was a master card counter. No matter how much Tylor shuffled Damon could correctly predict each and every card that would be picked up by the Sableye.

In fact it was so much fun that something just had to ruin it. Cue big Dragonite coming and starting to choke him. "It seems like a certain ship's been robbed... and it's your crew member who's missing."

Tylor just smiled sweetly, "Are you insinuating something? If in fact you were insinuating something then my crew would jump to my defense in three... two..."

Cue Madman taking on the Dragonite. "What's your beef pal? Let go of my captain if you value your life, fool!" Tylor just got up off the floor laughing. "You really pack a punch! And so serious as well! Lighten up!" Thomas had gotten up as well, "You okay captain?"

Tylor just went hysterical with laughter, "Oh, I'm better than alright! This day is turning out awesome! So many surprises!"

And then the council meeting started. Tylor really wasn't paying attention... until it was stated that the Forsaken had stolen two relics. Now he was really paying attention. Sableye really can't wink so instead Tylor made sure to return Azure Flute's wink with a wide smile. The Flute's plan sounded fool proof but then Popo had to speak. Already Tylor hated him. Kill off one of the most famous pranksters in existence!? Nope, he wasn't doing it.

As the meeting wrapped up Tylor pulled his crew together in a circle, "So, Madman, you got our little trinket, eh?" He whispered as he lightly pushed his elbow into the Corocnaw's ribs. This would be a good day. He had been personally recognized by Azure Flute and now had his hands on a awesome jewel. Nothing could go wrong!

Armand "The Skull King" Roberts- Pirate Council Island

"That right, Armand. We were called here fer a reason: the Forsaken! And now we're gonna fight 'em like a team, right?! Right?" said the Madman. Armand shot him a look, mostly out of confusion, and then realization. Apparently then, this whole thing was about the Forsaken. Armand had a hunch, but he didn't know for sure. Now his suspicions were confirmed. Armand grinned.

"We're going after the Forsaken? HAHA! Who can ask for a better adventure than that!"

Just then, the Phantom spoke up. "Puh-leaze! Why wouldn't we be here if we weren't being sent on some life risking adventure? Anyway, I know a good way to relax any tension!" His plan was to play some dice. Armand knew better. He heard the rumors, and he was sure that Tylor was either the luckiest pirate around, or the cheapest. Either way, he wasn't going to entangle himself in a game of chance with him. Before Armand could decline his invitation to play, Tylor had already began planning it out, just then realizing he had forgotten his lucky dice, and sending the Madman to go get them. Glaedr, as quiet and uninvolved as ever, it seems, decided to go for a walk.

"Be sure not to get lost now, lad!" Armand called back after him. Dexter spoke, saying they should consider playing a game or two while they wait, but Armand had to disagree. He then turned to the Phantom. "Perhaps we can a game or two." He said, finally deciding play a bit, if only to show some measure of respect to a fellow captain. "I be not a fan of these card games. Ha..." Actually, Armand didn't mind playing cards or dice often, although it isn't one of his favorite things to do anyways. At the moment, he just didn't want to play with Tylor. He didn't know his method, but whatever it was, it was making him constantly win.

The games were surprisingly entertaining. Tylor wasn't a bad captain. In fact, he wouldn't mind having him aboard on his own crew. After a while longer, Glaedr came back in, and pinned Tylor to the wall. Armand looked at his crewmate in surprise, wondering what triggered the response.

"It seems like a certain ship's been robbed... and it's your crew member who's missing."

Armand looked back between Glaedr and Tylor, and realized what had happened. It was all a plan by Tylor to get the jewel. His 'lucky dice' rouse was merely a way to send off the Madman to get the treasure from their ship. If they had decided to leave it behind, it would have been a perfectly executed plan.

"Aaahhh...nicely done." Armand accidentally slipped out, commending Tylor's plan. He perhaps should not have done so because he decided in his mind earlier to put up a strong front in front of the other pirate councils in the meeting, but he couldn't help it. If he was in Tylor's position, he would have likely tried to do the same. They were pirates, after all. It's a part of the trade. Armand suddenly went back into his captain mode and decided it was best for the two of them not to begin fighting now, right before the meeting. The Madman returned to the room and pushed off Glaedr from Tylor.

"That bag 'round y'neck looks awfully heavy. How 'bout I-" Dexter began, but was interrupted by the opening of the doors and the entrance of the famous Pirate Council. They were, all of them, well known. Captain Ingo, Captain Popo, Morrison Faglio, Captain "Azure Flute", and the great Heil of the Axe. Armand looked up at them as if to hear what they had to say.

For a long while, the council discussed amongst themselves (with the rest of them hearing) about the Forsaken, and his business with stealing the Soul Essences. Armand listened silently as they talked about the activities he had been doing. Eventually though, Armand's mind began to wander. He was no longer right there, in the room, but thinking about the grand adventure just beyond the horizon. They were going to go after the Forsaken, it seemed. At least, that is what Armand believed at the moment with his limited attention on the subject. He was suddenly snapped back into the current time and place by the surrounding Pokemon yelling in applause.

Armand's focus went back to the Council talking. Apparently, they weren't going after the Forsaken directly, but instead after the Soul Essences. Who could ask for a bigger treasure than that. Armand's mind began to slowly wander about the three of them sailing the ground seas, whether stormy or calm, in search of these legendary items.

His mind was snapped back in as it appeared Heil was finishing.

"So, without further ado, and with Azure Flute's permission, we, the mightiest pirates of Wayard, will sail the Northwest Sea Zone's waters in search of that elusive Iris Island Range, where Mesprit rests!"

Pokemon around cheered. Armand gave the Pirate Council a grin, and turned to leave, bringing Glaedr and Dexter close to him. He didn't hear the entire speech, but he heard enough.

"Come on, lads! To the ship! We have a heading and a target in sight! This may very well be the grandest adventure we ever embark on!"

Armand made a running break for the door. He could hardly contain his excitement. He wanted to get out to the open seas as quickly as possible in all his excitement. He was so excited in fact, that he completely forgot the whole incident with the The Phantom and the Madman. Even if he remembered in the back of his mind, he'll let them have their pocket of treasure. His crew, the Shattered Skull Pirates, were going after the greatest treasure in all of Wayard.

Taz Jr. Nautilus Morrigan "The Madman of the Seas"
Pirate HQ

The Croconaw listened to the pirate heads speak with his attention always perked up; he seemed like he wasn't any attention at all, but in fact he was absorbing all the details this council meeting had to offer him; he wasn't a good listener and he was normally too hyperactive to stay still for more than five minutes, but in this case, it was business, a business much more important than the jewel of Armand, although it did sound valuable.
Nautilus stopped paying attention once everyone hoorayed; he wasn't in the mood for shouting, he was deep in thought. The Pirate Council is pure piracy, the Navy is a bunch of hypocrites controlling Wayard with their rotten forces... but the Forsaken is much more. A conspiracy of one.
Nautilus chuckled at the thought; like his captain Tylor, he couldn't help but admire that guy for his abilities, even though he hadn't met him in person, or didn't know heck about his methods. Tylor snapped him out of his thoughts with a push onto his ribs.

"So, Madman, you got our little trinket, eh?"

Nautilus slowly turned his large head to his captain with eyes wide open; a small frown covered his face when he realised he had to tell captain.

"Cap'n.. I couldn't find the jewel. They must had it with them - but don'orry, I stole some gold for our trouble!"

His frown turned into an excited expression, his eyes giving off the odd feeling he was gonna go insane with joy as he raised his arms up in the air;

"But who cares about the jewel! Let's find us some Soul Essences, eh?"

Tylor "The Phantom" Grubas
Pirate Headquarters

Tylor's smile slowly faded as Madman relayed the news and by the end he sported a big frown. Damon chuckled, "Well, that went bottom over! What you going to do now Tylor?"

Tylor sighed and grabbed Madman by the shoulder, "Once we get back on board we'll see just how much gold you managed to grab. We can divy it up and we'll also divy the money we already got. Anyway, we'll enact a new plan to get that Jewel!" The enthusiasm returned to Tylor's voice, "Oh, I can see it! Us getting to the essence first and then taking the Jewel! It will be priceless!"

Damon chuckled, "Hell yeah! That's the Tylor I know! Now you should get going after that Marowak. He might just beat you to it."

Tylor looked at Damon, "What?"

The Charmeleon sported a huge smile and pointed at Armand's departing crew. It took two seconds for the gears to turn in Tylor's head. He grabbed Thomas and Madman and ran out as fast as he could. "We're getting there first crew! No Marowak is going to beat us! You hear that Armand!" He shouted. "We're getting there first!"

Tylor made it to the ship and tossed Thomas right at the sails, "Get those sails open! Madman help him out! We need to get going now!" Thomas quickly began to undo the sails as Tylor gripped the wheel and consulted the map for the Iris Island Range. Damon smirked, "We're going to be legends after this! Think about it! Getting soul essences and securing ourselves in the history books!"

Tylor laughed, "We pirates don't read Damon! But we will become legends!" Tylor laughed once more as he began to steer his ship out of the port.

Alabaster "The Pseudo Psychic" Zol
Council Island
--------------------------------------------------

Alabaster stood firm after his short speech, the laughing and comment that followed from Tylor's crew members annoyed him but he said nothing. No need to let his petty emotions get the best of him. The Mankey simply snorted at the accusation of having no honor, there was a distinct difference between honor and short-tempered recklessness. However he was here for information, not fighting. Alabaster felt a small disturbance as the opposing crew walked away, almost as if someone had insulted him without being seen… He simply laughed off the Madman's attempt to seem menacing; if he had the brains he would do best in leaving these "wiseguys" alone.

"Come on Takko, snap outta' it." Alabaster had walked up to the Aipom going around like an idiot and slapped him lightly on his cheeks.

"Wai-wuh?" he responded, "I don't remember drinking this much booze…"

"You were hit by the Phantom's Confuse Rays when you tried to save Arthur." Alabaster said calmly before he looked at both his crew members and sighed,
"I think that we've gotten on the wrong foot of Tylor Grubas. It makes me a bit disappointed as I'd rather have more allies than enemies. Oh well, no need to dwell on that subject." The Mankey then led his crew inside the Pirate Council HQ.

---

Alabaster and his crew entered the Council quietly; well in there they spotted Tylor Grubas and his crew along with another Pokémon. Not just any Pokémon, namely Armand Roberts. Or as the name he mostly went by, "The Skull King". The Mankey smiled, out of all the pirates he had heard tales about, Armand was his favorite. He didn't know why, but something about the Marowak struck him as honest and brave, for pirate standards at least. Grubas seemed to be mad about something, probably because of the fact that Roberts must've come in there first and because of the cape he was wearing and all the fuss he made out of a successful steal. Impressive, the Jewel of Partiis right under the Navy's nose eh? Alabaster felt like clapping his hands at the accomplishment but decided to stay quiet as it would probably just anger Grubas even more.

Speaking of Grubas, the Sableye seemed to discuss something with the Madman. Alabaster grew a bit suspicious as the Croconaw left the room, but he decided to just stay put and not cause any commotion. Apparently, Glaedr of The Skull King's crew seemed suspicious as well for he left the room a while after Madman. It took some time before the Dragonite came storming in again, not looking where he stepped, or maybe not caring where he stepped? Whatever the case, the Dragon accidentally knocked Alabaster over in a quite silly fashion, like something you might've seen in a really old movie.

"Captain! Are you okay?" Takko hurried to Alabaster and helped him up with his hand-like tail while giving a dirty look towards Glaedr.

"Save it for later Takko, I believe that their treasure has been stolen by a certain Madman…" the Mankey said as he rose up from the floor. He looked over at the scene occurring between Glaedr and Tylor Grubas. It was, interesting to say the least. While Alabaster observed the little play unfold with a rather uninterested look, however that was far from the truth. He actually wanted to see the both pirates fight each other, not holding back a centimeter. Why? Because of the knowledge, obviously. If he observed what moves and tactics the both pirates had he might learn something new about them that he could use to his advantage, should he ever fight them sometime. Or some other time in Grubas' case.

Suddenly, the Pirate Council themselves appeared before the crews. Heil of the Axe, a mighty Haxorus feared by many, including Alabaster himself, now spoke up. Everything went silent, dead silent, in a split second. The Mankey quickly glanced at the other members of the Council. Faglio, Ingo, Popo and Azure Flute also stood before them, almost shining with power, might and intelligence. Well, most of them anyway…

Heil spoke. His voice sounding serious as well as intimidating. Alabaster expected nothing less from the captain as his fur started to become a bit spiky due to the immense tension in the room. Alabaster listened closely as the Pirate Council explained the situation, it was like he had thought. In the end, it was all about the Forsaken wreaking havoc and them having to get the remaining essences.

"Heh. Hehehehe… AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!" Alabaster started to scream with laughter as the pirates were dismissed, a shine of joy could be found in his eyes that he mostly didn't show around other people than his crewmates. Takko looked a bit concerned at first when he confronted his captain, but the Aipom quickly decided to join in on the laughter as well. Alabaster stood up on a chair, looking at Takko and Arthur, smiling towards them both.

"My dear crew," he began in a serious tone, "This is the day that the Scorching Mind Crew sets out on our biggest adventure yet. Us all gaining something from it, of course! I will gain the knowledge about these sacred artifacts and maybe the Forsaken himself! You Takko, will gain an adventure that you've never experienced before, even counting the years you were under my father! You Arthur, will gain your most epic story yet. You will gain the story of how our crew pursued the most famous villain as of yet in the history of Wayard! I will, we will not give up until we've got what's in for us regarding this deal, am I right?!"

"YES CAPTAIN!!!" Takko shouted enthusiastically.

"So what are we waiting for?! Off to our ship, off to the ocean, off to the legend that is about to unfold! A new chapter WILL be written down in history, and we WILL be a part of it! Does that not sound like a privilege of great proportions to you?!" Alabaster shouted, something that he rarely did. But now, the flaring spirit of his father's blood coursed through his veins. This was going to be their greatest adventure yet. Alabaster immediately took off on all four after his speech, another thing he rarely did, racing the other crews to find out which one would get to the sea and start the adventure first. Maybe this was normally a bit stupid and unnecessary to Alabaster, but for this one time, he did not care.
