6th Gen Unova Starters with Hidden Abilities to be distributed in Japan next month

They should've done this a generation ago, IMO. Since Hidden/Dream World abilities debuted in Gen V, it felt so wrong not to give the Unova starters their Hidden/Dream World abilities right off the bat.

Will never happen (this gen) because it doesn't have a hidden ability: https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/567.shtml

There is a logical reason why Defeatist is its only ability, it would be too overpowered otherwise.

One thing to know about this event is that it's another silly "one-use code" distribution which has been plaguing so many events this generation, but I've got a feeling that Japanese players will likely be breeding the starters and releasing them onto Wonder Trade just in case if the event never goes international.

The fact the codes can be redeemed until November 30th means that there's plenty of time to redeem the codes, which is much longer than most other code events so far.

You can still breed for the pokéball you want. But sadly only the pokéballs that you can buy are available.
It's an Event. It's a Cherish Ball. It converts to a standard Ball. La meh.

I'm not fussy about the ball, I actually try to catch everything in Poké Balls. Paralysis, sleep, etc. I did the entire X/Y Friend Safari that way. It can be done. The exception I make is legendaries, which are unique situations. If I wind up with a Shiny, I might be Master Balling it if it gets to dire circumstances. I'll bring in the ApriBalls periodically, but that's about it.

Guys, I learned something new and I think pretty cool about this event. According to Serebii, the codes for this event are shared and can be used by multiple people, which is a nice change from the one-use codes we've had with other recent events.

Speaking of the starters, the Contrary Serperior distribution is now underway in Japan. The Reckless Emboar and Shell Armor Samurott will be out in coming weeks.

Wow I am so excited for the Contrary Serperior, I've been waiting for this since DW OU at the beginning of the fifth generation :D Maybe I'll try my hands at breeding a 5IV one~

Serial code… meaning I can't have one until they deliver some here. Grr. Here's hoping they do; I'm getting sick of these distributable codes. I want my Contrary Snivy now! >:O

Unless if the event does get released internationally, your only hope will have to be a Japanese player breeding the starter and receiving its offspring on Wonder Trade or the GTS. But yeah, I have to admit code-based events are starting to get annoying, especially after reading a Tumblr user posting a long entry with all the pros and cons of these sorts of distributions.

On that topic, does anyone here actually know someone from Japan who could breed us some Snivys?

Game Freak: Either the biggest trolls since Valve or just xenophobic jerks. It shall never happen...I guess I can keep a Contrary Serperior on a PO team

I was told that the Ability Capsule will switch a Pokémon's ability into its hidden ability if it didn't have more than one regular ability, meaning we would've gotten a Contrary Snivy already prior to this Japanese event, but is this true?

Absolutely untrue. The Ability Capsule doesn't change a regular ability to a hidden ability at all whatsoever.
