What do you think the Hoenn gyms would look like this time around? Will there be new puzzles, designs that will make you astonish in awe or what?

    Discuss!

    Gym makeovers are very likely. I really can't wait to see Mauville's, Lavaridge's, Petalburg's, Fortree's, Mossdeep's, and Sootopolis's gyms, that's a lot eh?

Seeing as how HG/SS gyms were remade, its obvious that they'll be remade to be much bigger and better.
God, the designs, I can already imagine them. I wonder what they'll do about Petalburg though. The design's definitely unique, and it would be difficult to outdo that.

I'm also looking forward to the design of the trick house. God yes.

Hmm, I have a sort of idea for each of them (kinda)
    • Rustboro: Nothing complex
    • Dewford: A sort of quiz asking questions like which Fighting-type attack has higher BP (or something) and while you're standing on giant boxing gloves if you answer it correctly you knock your opponent off, if you answer incorrectly you have to battle and if you win the opponent is punched off
    • Mauville: You're required to push some sort of object in the way of electrical currents to redirect them.
    • Lavaridge: Lava maze (so uncreative but Fire is hard to work with!)
    • Petalburg: Not sure
    • Fortree: A maze similar to the Azalea Gym where you have to choose the right order of birds to ride on up to the top
    • Mossdeep: One of those puzzles with a set pattern of (PSYCHIC THEMED) trails to follow and if you choose an incorrect one you go all the way back to the beginning
    • Sootopolis: Not sure
Just my late night musings, we'll see. o:

As far as I'd love to see new gym designs, there are some gyms which I hope WON'T have one...

    Namely Dewford, Petalburg and Sootopolis.

I really hope they have one or two new gym leaders. Omega and Alpha seem to be like B2 and W2 and I hope they're sequels.

I really want some Gym makeovers, especially the Sotopolis one with all the ladies under the ice. But I really liked the Ice tile puzzle, so I suppose that covers it up. I loved the Mosdeep one where you have to step on a tile to revolve trainers (kinda funny imo) and you have to revolve tiles elsewhere for it to take effect properly.

Some gyms like Winona's I expected better, so I guess with the whole 3D thing they can offer better puzzles.

I think they'd wind up keeping gym structures the way they were in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Personally, though, I wouldn't really mind if they had expanded their dimensions and added some changes here and there for some fun; y'know, sort of like what they did in HeartGold and SoulSilver. :] One gym I'm looking most forward to is Tate and Liz's; loved the obstacle that they had there.

I'm just going to leave this here.

I personally can see Lavaridge's gym become a lava puzzle similar to the original but you stand on stone platforms and get pushed up trainers via lava. Petalburg's should stay the same cause it's already pretty creative on it's own.
Fortree's Gym could involve a few sky battles, particularly Winnoa's or maybe you'd battle trainers on trees tops like the actual city.

I hope they'll do it similiar to HG/SS.

    *Rustboro will remain the same.
*Dewford can become something similiar to Humilau's puzzle, but now surfboards instead of lotus. Or a box ring in which you battle with everyone.
*Mauville can also have the rollercoasters from Unova.
*Lavaridge will probably stay the same.
    *Petalburg will stay the same.
*Fortree can be on top of trees.
    *Mossdeep will stay the same.
*Sootopolis will stay the same. (Although they might change it; Sootopolis is a Water type gym and the puzzle is ice.)

Because of the whole 3D thing introduced with Gen 6, the Gyms will probably be very different. I wouldn't be surprised if they remade every single Gym just to add 3D puzzles

Hmm, I like the ideas of yours, but the thing about Fortree on top of trees is the best one. I mean, if we jump on the wrong tree, we fall and face a trainer, and have to climb back up! That would be nice.

I liked the idea behind the Sootopolis Gym, but I would like to see the basement floor be more fitting with the grandeur of Wallace/Juan's characters.

Since Mossdeep's Gym puzzle changed so drastically between RS and E (and I wasn't a big fan of either, personally) I can see it potentially getting redone for these remakes.

In all honestly I can see most of the Gym puzzles remaining the same but having slightly different presentations (such as Falkner's Gym being raised above ground in HGSS).

Rustboro: Class is in session with Professor Roxanne! She has all the knowledge about Pokemon, and she's ready to teach some lessons! Find all three pages of your homework around this rocky classroom, and your fellow students will even give you tips on Roxanne's Pokemon! Once you have that, you can turn your work in and be rewarded with a Pokemon battle against Roxanne!

Dewford: Aloha, welcome to the beach (inside)! The current is up really high, blocking you from challenging Brawly, so you have to battle each Trainer to lower the current, until all of the water is gone and you can challenge him to a surf off! - er, battle!

Mauville: Wattson is quite the energetic guy, and he loves tinkering with his gym! It even looks like on of those old fashioned sliding puzzles, where you move the pieces to make a picture...oh, wait, it is! Each piece is a lit up as a different color, but when you try to step on them, they shock you! Ouch! The switches to all four colors are on the sides of the gym, and you have to navigate through the little maze to get to them! Try to avoid the trainers if you want to save your energy for Wattson, because those lights are reset when you leave the gym!

Lavaridge: It's a town proud of its hot springs, so of course they have to be incorporated again! This time, Flannery isn't blocked by a ledge or wall, but three horizontal jets of lava-hot water! You have to take the good old fashioned hot springs jump-and-dive puzzle to find the three switches, battling trainers along the way!

Petalburg: It's an all out brawl! Norman is determined to give you his all, but firs,t you have to get through each and every one of his Gym Trainers! Eesh, that's some tough love. Each one uses a Pokemon that specializes in a specific Stat, and they even have items to boost those stats! Once you've cleared the way, it's time for an all-or-nothing battle against Dad!

Fortree: Mmmm, that breeze feels nice through these leaves! Wait, this gym is nothing but a bunch of branches! Hop from branch to branch, tree top to tree top to get to Winona. Be careful, some of those branches look a little fragile, you may fall if you step on them! Watch out for those piles of leaves, too! There could be Trainers in them!

Mossdeep: What's with all of these walls? They're kind of pretty, and they keep changing colors. Wait, those are force fields! Navigate through this tall, tall maze, and be careful and watch for Trainers, they could be just around the corner! Find the switch to turn off the force fields and find the Gym Leaders!

Sootopolis: Wow! White columns with gold, intricate designs on them, Water type Pokemon swimming in the water-- Oh! That's a lot of water! You'll have to hop from gondola to gondola to get to Wallace/Juan in this Gym! Be careful, however, because each gondola can only ever go in one direction, and if you mess up, you'll have to take the slide all the way back to the beginning!

...or at least, that's how I'd do it. .u.

I actually like this idea! But knowing GF, they would pull of most likely the same thing they did in RSE but more grander :/

Which, I'm not opposed to. I actually really liked the older puzzles. Flannery's was probably my favorite. Really tied in her background into her gym, rather than going the whole "LOOK AT ALL MY FIRE AND LAVA. GUESS WHAT TYPE I TRAIN. YOU'LL NEVER KNOW" crap so many other gyms try to do.

I think even if they kept the gym puzzles exact same, with the new camera angles and 3D gameplay they'd still seem majorly different, and that's sort of how I want to keep it!
