Haha, this. I like the water too, but I also totally agree about not liking the Tentacool swarms... xD

I don't mind surfing at all. And I'm not bothered at all by the Tentacool swarms. (Guess it's free experience for my Electric mons. xD)

That makes me think of that anime episode with the gigantic Tentacruel. That episode was weird, Tentacool can apparently take over someone's brain by sitting on top of their head.

I can imagine them being that manipulative. They do have some Psychic attacks too i think.

That sounds absolutely horrifying and like somethinv on Invader Zim that I'd have watched anyways.

But about the water thing, the only thing I really hate about surfing is that it's a required hm. And that I need to save one spot on my team for a water mon/somethjng to learn surf/dive/waterfall. Since I don't like hm slaves this gets spread through the party and it's especially annoying when I forget I need surf and have to use an hm slave to get through victory road. >.> thank good ess I didnmt need surf i. White 2 victory road 8D

Btw, Walking/Biking for Groudon, Surfing for Kyogre, and Soaring for Rayquaza. 8D The trio is now complete~

I can totally feel your pain. I also dislike having to waste a party slot for HM slaves, but sacrificing move slots for my main team members just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. xD

I don't mind the water. On second thought, I wouldn't, but getting to Sootopolis is borderline impossible.

I've seen many artworks of possible Megas designs that got revealed later, so many Sceptile that were drawn when Mega Blaziken was revealed, but none of the other two starters. Did your Mega Sableye share any similarity to the official one?

Well, it had 3D glasses-like eyes and a tail with a diamond at the end. Not really much else.

Surf and Waterfall are useful moves to have... I don't know why anyone would see them as slot-consuming when there aren't any better Water moves? (Even if you say Hydro Pump, you're not gonna get that move easily in any game.) I can see how Dive can be quite a pain to learn. I guess I'm glad I caught a Wailmer from Mossdeep to Sootopolis. /shrug

That's on of the reasons I always have a water Pokémon in my team, the other being they're really useful to destroy rock Pokémon. Same goes with Fly.
Waterfall used to be terrible when it still was a special move, it was like Surf with lower power, but got obtained later in the game.

Platinum was kinda a pain cos it required a sickening huge number of HMs. Defog, seriously? The problem was that sometimes I needed like 2 or 3 Pokemon in a party just to get through a certain part of the game.

As Diamond was the first game I was really confused by the move Mist. There's rain can be summoned by Rain Dance, sunlight by Sunny Day, etcetera, so logically Mist would create a fog. But no.
Also I rarely learn any of my Pokémon those moves as Defog and Flash, I'll just walk there without a clear sight.

Yeah, good luck going in a Dewford cave without Flash lol.
I also hate how I keep forgetting who my HM slave is after putting in the PC, so I have to go through the entire PC to find it or make more of the same HM slaves lol.

The Granite Cave isn't even that hard to navigate without Flash. (I do that all the time.) It might take a bit longer and you bump in walls regularly, but hey, that's all it takes to skip the Gym for some time. Kanto's Rock Tunnel on the other hand, isn't a cave I'd recommend to walk through without Flash.

I always put them on the same spot (the bottom of the first box), that works. Another thing you can do is nicknaming them "HM Slave" or something similar.

No? You should try it. It makes the Pokémon feel a bit more special to you. Also, when you don't nickname them, it's really easy to find those few that do have a nickname, so problem solved. Another thing that just came to my mind is the option to mark Pokémon, does anybody use it? I only rarely do.

its easy for me to differ the, since I usually have one of each kind. Plus, my main team is heavily overleveled compared to the others.

Marking comes in handy when you have a bunch of eggs and need to remember which one has which Pokémon.

I still have about twenty Aerodactyl in my FireRed game, because it took me 17/18 tries to breed a female one I needed to give it Earth Quake as egg move. Nowadays it's too easy to give it a simple reusable TM.

Lol, I keep reading about people breeding Pokemon yet i dont recall doing it more than several times xD
