And then if the count is on you, 50 is a ghost, 100 [all other ghosts can be revived, except you], and 150 is permanent ghost?

Oh man. I used to see the RB one all the time because it was one of the commercials after (or before?) a movie on a VHS that I used to watch all the time. I don't remember which movie it was, admittedly, but I didn't really think of how weird it was until now pft.

It may seem to be aimed at kids, but complexity as EVs show there's a lot more in the games than a first glance could tell. My mom used to ask me why I am playing "these childish games", but I can't deny I love them.

Actually EVs did exist back then, they were just different from what we're used to.

Either way, they definitely weren't a prominate as they are now. And maaany of those who play competitively now I hiighly doubt did so back when they were little. Or even if they did were not aware of these EVs. So it was less of a target, so to speak.

EVs existed, but with the way they worked back then they were next to impossible to manipulate in order to get the results you wanted, so I don't think they were originally designed with the possibility of people actually using them in mind. Third gen is when we got the EV system we have now :)

I never even paid attention to that stuff back then, it was a happy time where there were no shinies to catch and pokemon to over train and battle against others.

Then Diamond came out xD
