I honestly am not too happy about it sure its cool theyre doing something and all but most people have played red blue and yellow and if they havent its not expenisve to buy the gbc or gba and play them. basically in my mind they said....you can even trade from them now! WITHOUT A LINK CAPLE ITS REVOLUTIONARY. But ya not all too interesting for me

Honestly nintendo enough spinoffs for right now lets focus on the games at hand aka the next pokemon game and pokken like plz i want pokken GIVE ME POKKEN

Yeah, I know that a lot of people have played the originals [RBY], but a lot of others have not. I never played the originals as I could not find them and getting a brand new copy from Ebay/Amazon costs anywhere between $300-$400. I would not buy an old one as the game can stop working at any time. Most of my friends do not have the originals and/or have them but do not want to let me use them because of all the memories stored on them. So, in a way, a 3DS download of these games allows people to play the originals who have not played them [and without a link cable thank god].

As for the spinoffs, I do agree that Nintendo needs to at least announce either Pokemon Z or Gen 7. However, it probably won't be any time soon as they are also releasing large games Zelda Wii U and the MMORPG-like Final Fantasy game, which is open world and would take a lot of money to make. They are probably more focused on developing these before focusing on more actual Pokemon games. For a new Pokemon main-story game, they would need a new story line [like how Black 2 differed somewhat from Black], new features, creating more Pokemon [if a new generation is intended to be made], and more. It is time consuming and costly, especially with other big games that I already mentioned.

Also, just checked on Serebii and a new Corocoro magazine will be released on December 15, which will have BIG Pokemon news. It could be either a new game [certainly not Pokken tournament or RBY as we already know about those games], information on an old game/Wonder Mail passwords, or a new event, upcoming information about a movie [these are my theories, not Serebii btw]. So it MAY be Gen 7 and/or Pokemon Z if we are lucky. You may have your wish Dedenne.

BUT DECEMBER 15th IS LIKE YEARS AWAY...atleast it feels like it! AND IT BETTER BE POKEMON Z IF ITS NOT THEN GF HATES ITS FANS

I really hope they won't let us wait much longer with announcing Z. I cant believe it's been a year since ORAS came out already. All of the recent games, ORAS (November 2014), XY (October 2013), BW2 (October 2012) all were released during Fall, in that pattern you'd expect to have a new main series game coming out about... now.

Lucky you! December 15th feels like a few minutes away in my perspective... which is a bad thing (to me, at least). ;_;

I think I've heard tons of fans complaining about Game Freak doing yearly releases, so maybe they actually listened to that complaint? Who knows. xD

58 I don't mind yearly releases, who'd complain about that? lol

I'm not totally sure, but I would guess that some people feel like they can't keep up with having to buy a new Pokémon game every year, combined with the fact that the previous games are becoming less relevant in a shorter amount of time. Which is pretty understandable in my opinion. :P

(Now that you think about it, Generation IV had a lot of time to shine, with about roughly 4 years maybe? And then Generation V lasted for only two and a half years before getting overshadowed by X/Y. And after that, X/Y itself was quickly overshadowed by OR/AS, with a lot of people saying that OR/AS is superior. So... yeah, I think the main concern here is pacing. xD)

60 I see, that's understandable! Since BW came out in like 2011 too, so it didn't have a long time in the spotlight

I need to get a Wii U for Pokken too, I'm so excited for that game! As much as I'd love a new main series game I'm actually happy if it doesn't come for a while as with all the spin-offs coming out there's so much to get and do!

Same here, haha! I have less time to play games in general now, so I'm gonna try to put my gaming priorities on Super Mystery Dungeon (if possible) before I get any other Pokémon games. xD

Atleast you guys have some time i have like maybe an hour every 2 days at most xD
AND ITS ALL SPLATOON NOW

I am super excited for Super PMD, Fire Emblem, Pokken Tournament, RBY, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake [which MAY or may not happen in 2016].

I also wonder when I'll be able to try it, though one thing's for sure: I hope the control scheme is on the simple side, because memorizing complicated button combos is just not my thing ahahaha. xD

67 A gourgeist!
I'm getting a copy of leaf green for Christmas, I haven't played the Kanto remakes

Yay for Pokemon Christmas presents! I'm hoping for money to go towards a Wii U!

I've got Fire Red but haven't played much of it yet, saving it for a challenge run when I get the time. Haven't played Red or Blue which I kinda feel ashamed to admit! Have played Yellow though! Looking forward to the VC releases!

As a Pokémon fan, I feel you should at least try out RBY for a bit, just to feel what the games were like in the early days and how much they have improved. They're certainly not something I would replay a lot, but it's amazing to see how much progress they made even compared to a few generations later.

There used to be a lot of Hoenn fans already because of the third generation, myself included, and I guess there's a lot of nostalgia in replaying the region with all the new features.
