I wouldn't mind playing as a froakie tho, do you evolve?

33

In most PMD games, you evolve post game. Idk about Super PMD.

Post-game sounds a lot worse than it is, because only half of the dungeons were in the main story part of the game (at least in Rescue Team). You can also do additional training and recruiting like you can do in a regular Pokémon game after you completed the story line.

I hope they won't let us wait for too long for the next main series game though. Maybe they don't want to bring it out to close to Super Mystery Dungeon and possibly leave another year gap between them.

I'd be fine with a year gap at least, I'm slow with games and saving money. 3XD Though I do hope it's a worldwide release next time, I know too many people I wanna play PSMD with that live in Australlia/Europe....

Haha, me too. xD It doesn't help that I still haven't gotten OR/AS (or even GTI) yet... D:

Actually, heck. I haven't even played Pokémon Rumble Blast yet, and that's one of the games I was looking forward to most on the 3DS back then. ;_;

37 That's true too, I suck at saving, it's really bad.

I'm too impatient and lazy to DL any games haha

I have been playing Super PMD... And I FINALLY learn how to Save like halfway in the game. Yeah, I could save after missions, but I wanted to save in the town after really long dialogue parts.... Now I know how to save.

Oh dang, so should I assume that it's significantly harder to find than the save points in the previous games? :O

Many dungeon crawlers have the system you can't save (besides quicksaving) in dungeons. If your entire party faints in a dungeon, you have to do it all again either from start or from the last save point in the dungeon (which often appear a few floors before the boss floor). If you black out your Pokémon are teleported back to the rescue team base and you lose all the money you were carrying and all but a few of the items. You do still have your experience and everything like in the main series.

42 That sounds like most other games where you have to do it all again if you lose, the main games aren't like this so it sounds like these games are meant to be harder or?

There are also items to escape from dungeons early with all the loot if things are going bad, so it's not much of a problem mostly. But to answer your question, yes, they're more challenging, but to be honest the main series didn't really set a high bar for that.

No it wasn't that. You can save in a dungeon with the Progress Save item. However, in town, instead of saving on your bed [like PMD Sky/Red Rescue Team], you have to press 'X' to open the menu and then save. I had no idea about this until like 7 chapters into the story and was like oh god THAT'S how I save?! I was sort of wasting my Progress Save items [which are expensive] and/or saving right after each mission when the game automatically gives you a save option.

Also, this game is very hard. I needed Reviver Seeds in the SECOND dungeon. No joke. This was a shock because the old games had really easy original dungeons and this game does not. By the fifth dungeon, you already start to see evolved Pokemon like Whirlipede when you are like level 11-16. Also, I had to do a mission where I had to fight a Salamence... When I was level 12. That was NOT fun. Especially since Salamence was level 50 and I used 2 of my reviver seeds on that mission. Belly also drains very quickly in the game, so you will need A LOT of Apples.

Oh yeah, there were some Explorer of Sky and GTI references in this game. I saw Corphish waiting for his Guildmaster, a Quagsire, and Team AWD at one point in the plaza. Obviously, this made me very happy. Now I am searching for some Red Rescue Team references.

It's Super Mystery Dungeon so I don't wonder the raised difficulty level.

True, Mewtwolover, but I was still really surprised at the huge difficulty jump. Especially because GTI was so easy. Red Rescue Team and Sky had some difficult parts- Articuno battle [that Powder Snow would KO both team members or put them really close to the KO range] and Dialga battle [Roar of Time would KO both team members unless it missed somehow]. But other than that, they were easy. In this game, I literally am hoarding Reviver Seeds from the first dungeon. I found a ton of them lying around and thought that I wouldn't need them initially. I was wrong and now carry like 6-8 of them in a dungeon- something I would never do before back with the previous games.

48 I'm gonna change the topic if that's ok!
Anyone own any merch? I have a few plush!

Not really sadly, just the games and a couple of manga and soundtracks, I would love to get me a plush or two!

Which plush do you have, Zanark?
