I'm kinda late, but happy New Year everyone! This is going to be a great year, with Super Mystery Dungeon (non-American that is), Go and Pokkén Tournament just around the corner! And then there's also Pokémon Z, maybe. I'm excited!

Or maybe they're all just guys lol.
I wouldnt play as a female character even if it looked 100 times better, somehow. Im a guy. I play as a guy. Simple as that :P

I play by that logic too normally. I played Pokémon Ruby once as the female character, just to try it out. (I found out May and Brendan have different dialogues, that was pretty fun to see.) It's just something that goes automatically. When they ask whether you're a boy or a girl, I answer correctly without thinking.

Those YouTubers pretty much are dudes themselves. It's like they're spreading the message that Pokemon is a male-oriented game.

To me Pokémon has always seen suited for everyone. You can play it casually as a kid, but the whole EV/IV system you adds a completely new level of difficulty. With exception of the first generation (you may have a point there), I don't see anything that points to the franchise being directed more to male players. Though in general, I believe most of the gamers are in fact male. That's not meant as offense or anything and I'm not saying gamers are never female, but apparently girls more often tend to have other interests than games than guys for some reason.

I wanted to play through some games in PT but its like people arent even trying. (literally the nicest way I can put it). Especially the newcomers. This is beyond me lmao.

I love spin-offs, looking forward to them all, but Pokken has me the most excited, especially now I have a Wii U so I know I'll be able to play it!

I'm not one easily turned on by spinoffs. Probably why 2015 was a boring year, because the only Pokemon games of that year was nothing but spinoffs. Doesn't help my region didn't get Super Mystery Dungeon last year, but will be getting it next month instead. Poor EU/AU players, having to wait way longer than their NA and Japanese counterparts.
