At any rate, good luck!! I'm sure you won't have any trouble beating the games, but whether they hold your interest is another story. :o

I absolutely loathed the Unova games, haha. But I've only played through the games once - so, 9 years for BW this March, and 8 for B2W2 this October - and with how little I've enjoyed every main series title that has followed these games, I'm wondering if time will have softened my perspective somewhat. It's been that way for a few games I didn't enjoy much at the time: Bayonetta, FFXIII (sort of), Skyrim, etc. Wondering if the poor quality of later titles will reflect positively on these.

Although I've changed a lot as a person since I played Gen 5 and I'm wondering what effect those changes will have, if any, on how I perceive it, and what I get out of it. I honestly don't remember very much of the games, except for really struggling to find a Pokemon I wanted to use in Black until the third Gym - I expect that will be a thing still, because I don't like the starters and I will not use Patrat, Lillipup, or those disgusting elemental monkeys they try and force on you - and Roxie's adorable Gym song in Black 2. But we'll see! I want to play through DQVI first, which I just started, so maybe late January/early February I'll start White. Will keep you posted with all my complaints :3

I loved the unovan games because it excited me to see pokemon moving in battle... That was actually enough to pull me to Unova as a kid but then I also enjoyed the places, the Pokemon and of course, the music! Let's see what you've got, Dawn. I wish you good luck!

I also love the Unova games just like Sid, though it did take me a while to warm up to them! I don't think I even cared too much for B/W the first time I played it, so it's definitely a game that I gained more appreciation for after revisiting it over time. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you get started! :D

I had actually considered doing a monotype run ultimate challenge, starting with White/White 2, and working my way through the rest of them...I can't decide what type, though. Bug or Poison was my initial thought, although Normal or Grass (I rarely use Grass types) might be interesting too...idk.

As someone who knows nothing about challenges, I've got a little question! I know I can just look this up for myself, haha, but I figured I may as well ask here to add to the discussion! (^w^) So my question is: how does a monotype challenge work before you obtain your desired type (like Poison) for the first time?

For example, if you were doing a Poison monotype run, and the very first Poison-type isn't available until halfway through the game, would the challenge simply not begin until that point? Or would you just use trades to get a Poison-type Pokémon earlier? :o

You're allowed to hack/trade a single Pokemon of your chosen type if you can't get one before the second Gym.

Sorry to hear about your Trapinch, Sid! I've sen the first three episodes of Twilight Wings and I really like it. :) It seems the hype over SwSh has dropped pretty fast though, haha, especially with games like New Hozirons and the FFVII remake out!
