Update on this, but I've since found everyone on that list except for Rotom. Still need to go back to its only location and get lucky with finding it XD
On another note, do Hidden Abilities exist in this hack? Or are all wild mons capable of getting one of 2/3 abilities if they have multiple.
I was curious since the wild starters in Alpha Islet can be caught without their usual type boosting abilities and I'm not sure if you guys added Ability Capsules and Patches.
Really enjoying this hack so far! Every design is so creative and learning the new type chart blind is so much fun.
The stat distribution is really only one thing I'm finding a bit iffy, though it actually may be a false assumption.
As an example, I currently have a Lvl.20 Flabebe with a neutral nature and from the moves it has learned, it makes me think that this Pokemon is meant to mainly be a physical attacker. It's current stats however, still prioritizes special attack by a large margin.
I hope this is just a result of me being early on in the game (and me being kinda stingy when it comes to team comp) but it has caused a bit of friction when it comes to using these mons that have their roles kneecapped because of how their stats are.
Still intend to finish this one though! Can pass up something as unique as this.

I definitely noticed it early on too, but I think all the mons just carry over the same BST and stat distribution as their original forms. The fakemons obviously can't do that and have their own numbers no doubt, along with one specific mon in the post-game that I feel was given some extra love.
But yeah I second the idea that hopefully a doc with confirmed movesets and stat dstribution could be shared if possible. These new types and designs just brought new life to these mons that I would love to see more of their gameply designs.
I found this game two days ago and I've already beat the Elite Four. I honestly haven't had this much fun with a pokemon game in years and I'm super attached to all my babies. I only have 5 main team members with auditions still open for a 6th, but I still have greatly enjoyed seeing all the new designs and learning the new type chart. I went in as blind as I could and I think that's the best way to experience it.
Great work and I can't wait to see what else you guys are cooking up!
(Sorry if this is a poor interpretation of Inteleon's new design, this is just what I saw and I love my big baby regardless)

Is there a way to breed the gift eevee for the same one? Reason I ask is because when i breeded it, it gave me a void eevee, cause im doing a dex hunt.
But somehow I cannot go to the other four Sevii islands... I beat the elite four and went to prof. Oak and got the tickets for Navel Rock and Birth island, but when I go to Celio for the rainbow pass, he doesn't give it to me. Am I missing something? I already got about 80 pokemon in the Kanto Dex.

Weird Type Fun is a simple rom hack with an even simpler concept: to have even series veterans be confused about type matchups. With 18 all new types and a completely reimagined pokédex to match, WTF makes the ever familiar Kanto a little bit less so.
While WTF sticks mostly to the core FireRed story and structure, some characters and lore has been changed around to keep things fresh. Event only areas (aka Navel Rock and Birth Island) have been made accessible through gameplay and a couple of new locations and small events have been added in.
FEATURES
All types have been replaced with new alternatives. Type matchups do not mirror original.
400-ish pokémon, assembled from up to gen 9 (thus including Hisui and Paldea). Also includes a couple of beta pokémon and fakemon.
Each pokémon has been redesigned to fit its new type (think Fool's Gold, except more nonsensical)
Moves and items updated to match the new types
Mostly faithful Gen III Kanto experience with some new twists

Original design of fusions Dustata & Furran as well as fakemon Bloff & Hemocula by Wish
Fakemon Nanner is a direct reference to this Drawfee video
Leagues of support from Pebbler Platoon, especially Sadfish, with testing, fixing bugs and other issues, your help has already made the hack so much more polished!
I have now made the version with phys/spec split and other QoL updates the main version. If you update to this version from a previous non-QoL build, make sure to deposit your TMs in a PC and save inside a Pokémon Center or Mart before updating your game file, as well as check that all your game and save files have the same name. Thank you to everyone in Pebbler Platoon for making this all possible, my little rom hack is growing up...!
I'm also starting work on a big balance update. I will avoid bumping the number up to 2.0 before that, so any patches until then will only contain bug fixes (as opposed to QoL additions or such) and will remain in the 1.9s.
The download is a zip file that includes a ups patch as well as a type effectiveness chart, a spreadsheet of pokémon locations and evolution methods as well as a copy of the list of known issues
If anyone still needs the vanilla version (without physical/special split, infinite TMs etc), you can still find it here. It has some but not all of the non-QoL fixes listed above.
KNOWN ISSUES
This is very much a first rom hack situation. A funny sprite project got out of hand and I learned rom hacking on the go.
There is the occasional oddity/issue with the hack I have yet to figure out how to fix (some of them directly caused by my blunders early on in the project, haha). Nothing game-breaking as far as testing has revealed, but I will list what I know here for reference.
Spoiler:
Girl player character's palette messes up in the opening sequence if you give the rival a custom name. Won't affect the rest of the game.
Shrinking sprite also gets pixelated
Rival walks up to the wrong ball when choosing starter, gets the right pokémon though
Rival's first optional battle near Viridian doesn't trigger
Pokédex automatically records some late game legendaries as seen
Teachy TV can crash the game when used, hence it is not given out.
When giving the items Whipped Dream, Faller Stone, Gemstone, Plain Stone, Shiny Stone, Razor Claw, Hourglass, Sweet Heart, Loud Whistle, Chaos Stone, Premium Gem or Link Cable for pokemon to hold, you can end up with some pretty glitchy effects (anything from item duplication to turning boxed pokemon to bad eggs). So play around with that at your own risk These items can be used and deposited to the PC like normal as long as they're not attached to pokémon.
Several trainers have pokémon they're not intended to have, mainly some rival fights
The move Camouflage has rather nonsensical effects
Dodydra's front sprite's beak does...stuff...when it uses Fusion Dance
TM icon colours don't match types in bag
Void type moves are much weaker than they should be based on their base power
Some issues (the TM icon colour issue and weird directional arrows) I simply did not deem important enough to delay the "release" of this patch. As for the more complex ones, I will continue to investigate but would also be super grateful for any tips in regards to fixing them.
Q&A
Spoiler:
Which types are physical / special in the old "vanilla gen 3" version?
Special: Magic, Dream, Light, Sound, Time, Gem, Chaos, Love
Neither: Void
What game is the patch based on?
FireRed 1.0
WHAT'S NEXT
Fixing known issues
Fixing any other issues that turn up
Any quality of life improvements I can think of / learn to do
Redoing several sprites / designs (you can tell which ones were made first)
COMING SOMEDAY, EVENTUALLY, MAYBE
Spoiler:
Expansions to Pokédex
More of Johto made accessible
Other new areas and events
Thanks for your interest in my silly little rom hack! It was small and broken in the beginning, but with the help of this awesome community it's growing into its own!
Really cool hack! 👍
I know the discovery process is a major point of the hack, but for reference now that I (and hypothetically other players) have finished, would you be interested in releasing more complete documentation at all? With things like base stats and catch rates, for example. Some things showed up in HexManiacAdvance, but a lot of Pokemon are missing, presumably due to the extra data inserted. I'm just the kind of person who's curious about these sorts of details.
Hey there, sorry if my reply is structured weirdly this is my first time making a comment on this website and it's a little confusing to me. I love the hell out of your game, especially the designs. Tho I do have some questions cuz I'm a little confused. How do I evolve steenee into tsareena ? I got it to level 27 and it didn't learn stomp. Also how to I evolve eevee ? I tried giving the chaos eevee a firestone but it wouldn't budge. Also do you know a place I could find the type chart ? Sorry if my questions are too long I just rly like this game.

Best hack i have played in a while, sprite design is awesome. Looking at the pokedexguide pdf i see kotora is needed to trade for other mons but i don't see any info on kotora itself

I'm convinced riolu does not exist, used about 40 max repels using the level 30 repel trick on the early route where it can be found with no luck. Been about 2 hours searching puck road and nothing😭
okay i found an absolutely fascinating glitch yesterday, that i highly doubt is a big deal or that many other people are ever going to find, if anyone really, but:
the character had just given me a key item, so i looked at what it was, and clicked to use it even though i knew it wouldn't do anything. i then did that with a few other key items too. then when i backed out i was in control of the character???
the most interesting bit is like the last minute, if you're just looking to see what the glitch is. in the beginning i went back to the exact same spot i was in the first time i triggered it, then tested closer to the character and it still happened.
i'm just now noticing the other character is even the one who did the animation for flying... also i'm not sure if it's just this key item, i'm not sure why i didn't try others! but it only happened with this npc and not any others, i wonder if it's because she's the only one with a scripted movement?
Absolutely love the hack though btw!!! i barely ever get through the first couple of gyms in a romhack or fangame but i got through the entire game in this one, plus got to about 300 pokedex entries without even looking at the guide! the designs are all so fun and i couldn't even keep a team of just 6 XD
