Were the Trainer Tips signs ever an important aspect of your playthrough?

Or were you the type of player that preferred to disregard them and learn as you go? If you're new to playing Pokémon, do you find the Trainer Tips signs useful?

Back then, any time I saw a sign, I'd press a on it.

Nowadays, I'm a Pokemon veteran and don't need trainer tips anymore.

They were useful when I was new to the games.
I mainly still check every sign out of habit, just in case there's some info specific to the region on them.

Interestingly enough for me, I never read them when I was new to Pokémon, but I have started reading them later on in life just out of curiosity.

Gosh no. I used to read them at the beginning because I wanted to interact with everything I could in case I missed important things, but that ended quickly and now I never bother with the signs. They never helped me much - I just learned by playing instead. Cute touch but totally unneeded for me pretty much all the time.

Sometimes I'll check them out of habit but I think the only times they're ever useful to me is if they explain a new mechanic or button combination that's different from previous games, especially since games no longer come with those little manuals.

When I was younger I found them useful since I didn't have unrestricted access to the 'net. Nowadays I still click on them because sometimes they'll have some cute world building.

I never read them at all. Honestly I didn't read any signs. All the trainer tips I already knew for the most part and it just slows me down when trying to play the game. I don't think I even read them in older games because I just didn't see a point for myself.

Which might be the reason I never understood the difference between Special and Physical Stats until Kalos....
