Who Do We Think We Are / 1973

Deep Purple is described as one of the most memorable rock and roll bands. Their mix of blues and rock has left a lasting effect on many classic rock fans, so much that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced that they are finally being inducted in their Class of 2015, stating "Deep Purple's non-inclusion in the Hall is a gaping hole which must now be filled". Described alongside Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin as one of the Holy Trinity of rock and metal bands, this track from their 1973 album Who Do We Think We Are is by far and above my favorite song from their years of performing. The hard, gritty riffs and licks of Richie Blackmore and Roger Glover's guitar meet the symphonic mastery Jon Lord had with his organ and piano in a way unlike any other.
