What do you hope to achieve from forums :)

I wanna socialize with more members, and I want to get a new protect going.

wow ....... i just wanna have fun and friends well the friends plan isn't working everyone just ignores me and maybe 1000 post before my year would be good too and to raise that rep because its on red and i want it green and btw my 200 post yay
 
Only goal i have is a pipe dream of becoming a mod. I know pipe dream pretty much screws the goal but a guy got to wish!
 
I guess I joined this forum just to attempt to break my shy shell. It hasn't been a success yet, but now I know that I can come here and talk to some really awesome friends and have a laugh whenever I feel down. ^_^

One thing I have found out is that I am different on the internet, I'm not the shy girl here. I thank PC for finally showing me that I can be someone differnet.
 
To have Xatu reclassified as OU.

1) Change peoples' opinions of Xatu on PC
2) Organize a Smogon flood
3) ???
4) Profit!
 
I mainly use forums to fill in time wasted between whatever is going on in my life, and to seek advice/help on certain topics out of my reach. My desires for forums have changed over the years, just like my life in general.
 
I don't socialize much in real life, so the idea is that forums will fulfill the need for conversation. It doesn't work out that way, though; I've registered at many forums over the years and can only really say I've been a known, respected, prolific member of two. Most of the time I just lurk.

I have a fundamentally unrealistic view of forums most of the time, which I think is why I register but rarely post. I love the idea of a Internet forum, a place for a potentially utopian bazaar of ideas and passions and creativity. The vision of hundreds or thousands of people positively interacting always gets me excited about what could be, particularly if the forum is fairly large.

Obviously, human nature and social conventions being what they are, the reality of forums isn't much like the above, especially in the age of "tl;dr" for anything over three paragraphs or so. But there are always sparks of the creativity and excitement that I idealize. I guess the forums in which I see more of those sparks are the ones where I end up registering. Actually posting--or posting enough to make myself visible and noteworthy--I guess is something that takes just the right mix of conditions. If I have that, and I have enough initiative, then I have a great time... and I have to admit, even if it's "just on the Internet" (which is a pretty silly thing to say), having a place to call home is always a good thing.
 
Now that I think about it... I have other and new goals....

I want to make 1k posts by the end of my first month here. Well, that'll have to happen before April 3, 2009. Lol

I want to make at least fifty, active, super-social friends~~

I want create mi familia. I want to get the Best Profile Design emblem. I want to show PC that I'm not just a noob. I want to get at least three Reputation Bar.

I want to punch Netto in the face.... Nah! I'm kid! :D

I want to make one of my thread stickied. I want to make my lyrics well-known. I want to know know how to properly customize my signature. I want a super, awesome, amazingly pwnlicious theme that I'm able to keep for many months, years even.

And because I liked pokémon, I joined. Because I wanted to try being on a forum at all, in the first place.

And now... well it's partly to waste time, partly just to make myself feel good. I enjoy the community feeling. I don't need much more reason than that. I'm the kind of person who does things that makes me feel good just because they make me feel good.

And of course, to escape "must do"s and people IRL xD
 
I only tend to use forums to discuss things that I have in common with others (which I tend to do with my clubs). I also come to forums to see my friends that I have online.
 
Good question!

Well,I really only join Poke'mon based forums. The reason being because I want to talk to other Poke'mon fans,and make new friends to play on Wi-Fi with. ^__^
 
Well, I really just come here for friends. A way to get out of the real world, away from all the conflict and fights going around me. In a way, I come here to escape from the real world from time to time. That, or I just have a bunch of great friends I want to talk to.

So yes, I hope to make more friends and stuff. :3
