(OOC: And while John is earning his next badge...)

Earl had decided that his help was no longer needed as he walked back outside. Deciding it was time to teach his Pokemon some moves, Earl opened his suitcase and released his other three Pokemon. Judas smiled his wicked grin at Earl while Joan groomed herself. Brutus simply stretched his muscles.

"Okay team, time to start the serious stuff," said Earl as he opened his book to the page Leonidas had been reading before. Noticing the move and who could learn it, Earl motioned for Leonidas to come closer.

"Was this what you were reading?" asked Earl as Leonidas nodded his head and jumped for joy. He had been thinking about this move for a while now, and he was ready to try and learn it!

"Alright Leonidas," began Earl as he cleared his throat. In the distance, he noticed a boulder in the ground. It was a good size, and it looked pretty heavy. Perfect.

"Leonidas, I want you to focus on that boulder. Then I want you to build up your energy. When I tell you to, I want you to then try to pick up that boulder and throw it," said Earl as Leonidas went next to the boulder and began focusing. As he focused, a blue-like aura began outlining him as his muscles noticably tensed. Earl watched this and smiled. Leonidas was getting this fairly easy.

"Excellent Leonidas! Now, lift it up!" shouted Earl as Leonidas grabbed the boulder and lifted it up as if it was nothing. He then threw it a good yard away and smiled at Earl, before he felt something bite his tail.

Earl jumped when he heard Leonidas yell, wanting to see what was up, Earl ran to Leonidas, only to find that a female Gible had latched on to Leonidas' tail. Not believing his luck, Earl smiled.

"Leonidas, use Water Gun to leap off the ground. When coming back down, I want you to use Ice Punch!" shouted Earl as Leonidas fired his Water Gun. While in the air, he spun around just enough for the Gible to let go. As both of them started falling back to the ground, Leonidas' left fist glowed in white-icy energy as he struck the Gible. Upon landing, the Gible hit the ground hard with Leonidas on top of her. When seeing his opportunity, Earl chucked an empty Pokeball at the Gible, which was put in the Pokeball. Earl simply crossed his fingers, hoping he was going to catch this Gible...

(OOC: Sorry, my sister decided to celebrate my birthday early.)

If John noticed that Earl had left, he didn't show it.
"Aquanis, Night Slash! Leaf, Leaf Storm!" John yelled. Aquanis ran over to the Quagsire and slashed at it with blades of dark energy. He then jumped out of the way of the powerful cyclone of leaves that hit the Quagsire, knocking it out. John grinned. This was going well. That is, until he heard Marty speak.

"Well Sandslash, now that Quagsire is down, there's no need to hold back is there? Slash!" Marty said. Sandslash charged toward Aquanis and slashed at him with powerful claws.
"Block it with your shell and use Razor Shell! Leaf, use Magical Leaf!" John said. Aquanis proceeded to block the attack, and return a few swipes of his own. He then leapt into the air as several glowing leaves hit Sandslash. He landed behind the thing and taunted it.

"Dewott! Dewott!" he shouted.
"Slash! Sandslash!" was the retort.
"Enough. Aquanis, use Water Pulse," John said. Marty smiled and ordered Sandslash to use Poison Jab.
"And Leaf, use Counter!" John said. Sandslash charged at Leaf and swung his glowing purple claws and slashed Leaf's head hard. Leaf rebounded the power, but he looked as though he was going to be sick. He had been poisoned. Not good! Aquanis nailed Sandslash with a powerful Water Pulse. Sandslash stumbled around with a vacant expression on his face. Thank goodness he was confused!

"Time to finish this! Aquanis, Razor Shell! Leaf, give me another Leaf Storm!" John shouted happily. Aquanis charbed in and sliced Sandslash twice, and then leapt clear when the somewhat less powerful cyclone of leaves hit. Sandslash emerged from it looking worn out, but he was still standing. John admired the fight in this pokemon. But Marty? Well, he was a different story.
"I yield. Please, don't hurt Sandslash anymore!" Marty said.
"But the battle isn't over! And he still wants to fight! So give it a command and let's go!" John said impatiently. Marty did the exact opposite. He returned it.
"His life is in the red! You would be the winner anyway. Just... Take the Ground badge and get out of my gym!" Marty said.
"Fine, weakling. But remember this. A pokemon is the most dangerous when it's desperate to win. And look at my pokemon. Leaf is about to faint. And Aquanis is hurt too, but not as bad. But you're right, I'm outta here!" John said as he snatched the badge and returned his pokemon. He walked outside to go find what else he could do. He was very bored, and he was about ready to do anything.

Israel had just watched the Gym battle and wasn't impressed, he expressed his lack of awe verbally to Yasumi. "Seriously, Marty actually used a Sandslash and Quagsire in a Gym battle? Quagsire has a double weakness to grass type moves and Sandslash is a pretty useless ground type." Israel continued, "and John's two Pokemon should have been evolved by now, I mean honestly a Chikorita at that level? Pathetic." Yasumi broke in, "Israel." "Huh" said Israel. "John has three Gym badges which means that he has two more than you, I think that you should go to the Gym and fix that" said Yasumi. "Should I really focus on that right now?" asked Israel surprised. "Yes, and I'm coming with you" she said. "But" Israel started, "they said that I could leave any time that I wan't so let me get dressed and lets go" said Yasumi. Israel took out Swampert and Sceptile's Pokeballs, he had this one in the bag.
 
The Pokeball which contained the Gible Earl was trying to catch was still wiggling around. After the seventh wiggle, the Pokeball busted open, revealing that the Gible still had some fight left in it.

"Dang. She's a stout little thing," said Earl as Leonidas bared his fangs at the Gible. The Gible did the same in turn and then charged at Leonidas, hitting him with an impressive Take Down attack.

"TO!" shouted Leonidas as he was sent flying straight into Earl. Earl tried to keep his footing, but he was sent to the ground from the impact.

"Ugh... And she's strong," said Earl as he got up slowly, rubbing his back. That attack hurt. Leonidas was also showing he was hurt pretty bad as well. That Take Down attack... That was something else. However, Earl brightened up when he saw that the Gible was barely able to stand. That attack seemed to take quite a bit of energy out of her.

"Leonidas! Now's our chance! Superpower!" shouted Earl as Leonidas became outlined by a blue aura. Charging at the Gible, he brought his right fist around and struck it in the stomach, sending the Gible flying into the boulder from a while ago. Earl, however, took note that when Leonidas used Superpower this time, it looked weaker than when he used it the first time. Even Leonidas' Ice Punch looked weaker than usual... DUH! Earl facepalmed as he threw another Pokeball at the Gible. Earl watched as the Pokeball wiggled three times before stopping. The click was then heard, signifying that Earl had caught the Gible.

"I'm sorry Leonidas, but I had forgotten that Superpower weakens you physically after use," said Earl as he picked up his newly caught Gible's Pokeball. He then placed it in his suitcase as Leonidas rubbed his chest, which was where the Gible had hit him with Take Down... But then something strange happened...

"Leonidas?" began Earl as he turned to look at Leonidas. Leonidas was glowing white... LEONIDAS WAS EVOLVING!

As Leonidas glowed white, his form slowly changed and grew taller. Finally, when his form was complete, he stopped glowing, revealing a Croconaw.

"Croc!" shouted the proud Croconaw as Earl walked up to him. Earl then put his fist in front of Leonidas, who promptly gave Earl a fist bump.

(OOC: So, Leonidas has learned Superpower before being challenged by a female Gible, angry about losing her home. After Earl caught said Gible, Leonidas evolved into a Croconaw.)
 
Israel arrived at the Gym ready for battle but he was met by reporters, "Israel, John has just won the badge from this Gym, do you have anything to say about this?" "If he can do it so can I" said Israel. "John promised to destroy you the next time you two battle, what do think about that?" asked another reporter. "Look, usually I would say something denigrating about John but recent happenings have given me a reason to be thankful to him so I'll just say this, John you cannot beat me, you will never beat me, and beating me is only a dream" said Israel. "If John were to beat you in the near future how would you react?" asked another reporter. "You didn't hear me, HE WILL NOT WIN" said Israel. "On the subject of the Gym battle, are you prepared for it?" asked a reporter. "Ma'm if all Marty has is Sandslash and Quagsire I'm more than ready" said Israel. "One more question" said another reporter, "who is that beautiful women by your side?" Israel smiled, "this is Yasumi Tanaka and she's going support me for this battle, thank you for your questions people and now just sit back and watch me destroy Marty."
 
John laughed loudly at Israel's statments. He had been sitting on the roof trying to figure out what he was going to do until Earl came back. But now he had his answer.
"Israel, I hope you've got the power to back up those words, because when you get done, I'll be here looking for a battle!" John said as he sat lazily on the roof. Cinder snorted beside him and he climbed arboard the fire dragon and they flew to the ground. He walked over till he was near the gym. He leaned against the wall and waited.
"Well, hurry up and get that badge! Marty is trash, and I want a good battle. I want to battle you before a certain giant friend of mine gets back and I have to leave. I'm a very busy man you know!" John said. Shadow grinned at him from her perch on his shoulder. That was the highest praise anyone could ever hope to recieve from John, him saying they were a good battle. She wondered if he knew it.
 
Kitten nodded as she cuddled with the pink skitty kissing Furball's head, looking down the path that led to the pokemon center.

"Okay!" She beemed starting in the derection of the pokecenter stoppping to look at some shops with various items like lollies, chocolate and just random things. "You doing okay Silver?" She asked after abit turning to look at him.

A small smile was on Kitten's face as she looked him up and down to make sure he wasn't going to collapse or anything.
 
Israel entered the Gym and took his place at his side of the arena, Marty took his place at his side of the arena. "In this battle we each use two Pokemon , neither of us can switch out until a Pokemon faints, this will be a singles battle" said Marty. "Huh? Straying from the double battle, well I choose Sceptile!!!!! said Israel sending out Sceptile. "I choose Sandslash!" said Marty sending out Sandslash. Israel started it off, "Sceptile use Leaf Storm!!!!!" "Sandslash use dig" said Marty. The Sandslash dug underground easily because it dug at a spot that had already dug in before and the Leaf Storm missed. Sceptile stopped and knelt down and touched the ground with one hand and closed it's eyes. Israel pulled out Alakazam's Pokeball and had him scan for Sandslash. When Sandslash was about to strike Israel said, "Acrobatics now." Sceptile back flipped through the air and Sandslash came up from below the ground and hit nothing. "Now Sceptile use Leaf Blade!!!!" ordered Israel, Sceptile slashed Sandslash with the sharp leaf on his arm. The Sandslash looked badly damaged but to Israel's surprise the Pokemon was still standing. "Sandslash use poison jab" said Marty. Sandslashes claws glowed purple and surprisingly hit the fast Sceptile. The attack was a critical hit but Sceptile survived it and got right back up. Unfortunately the attack left Sceptile poisoned, "alright lets finish this" said Marty, "poison jab." "Leaf Storm!!!!" shouted Israel. Sandslash ran toward Sceptile with it's claws growing purple, but Sceptile was able to launch a Leaf Storm just as Sandslash approached, and the attack fainted the Sandslash. "What else have you got!!!!?" shouted Israel triumphantly.

Furballed yawned when Kitten pecked her forehead, & went to sleep. It's not rare for her to fall asleep. She just does tat.

"I'm doing fine." Said Silver, getting tired from walking. His leg was starting to hurt a little again, but this was nothing. Still, he wanted his leg healed so he could get to the next city, & to do that they needed to get over the mountains.

Inside, Silver saw something on TV, showing some familiar faces. "Hey, don't we know those two?" Silver managed to remember their names. They were Joey & Isreal! & already they got badges?! If Silver wanted to catch up, he needed his leg healed, & fast!
 
John watched the battle from the sidelines. This was boring, but he was going to wait around for Israel to finish. He tapped his foot impatiently and sighed to himself.
"What am I doing!?" he asked himself.
"You're waiting for your best friend to finish battling so you can battle him!" Shadow said simply. Stupid fox.
"He's not my best friend. He's not even my friend at all!" John whispered to her. She simply smirked knowingly and turned into Shadia. She reached around him in a hug, and stood side by side with him as he watched the battle.
 
Marty called back Sandslash into it's Pokeball. "You've fainted one of my Pokemon so you're allowed to switch Pokemon" said the Gym Leader. "Why would I switch?" said Israel, "My Sceptile's typing almost assures a one hit KO on Quagsire." The Gym Leader replied, "John was right you are pretty arrogant but you don't seem to be able to back it up." "Don't mistake my confidence for John's arrogance" said Israel, "and I knocked out your Sandslash, I think that I'm pretty good at backing myself up." "Then why are you taking the easy way out using Sceptile?" said Marty. Israel laughed at this, "Really? You're trying to make me send out another Pokemon this way?" Israel then turned to see John, "fine then I will" he said. Israel returned Sceptile and sent out Swampert, Marty sent out Quagsire. "Quagsire use Yawn" said Marty, Quagsire yawned and let out a fog like substance toward Swampert. "Swampert use Blizzard" said Israel and Swampert used the blizzard to blow away the Yawn and damage Quagsire. "Quagsire use Earthquake" said Marty and the Quagsire created an earthquake that hit Swampert. "Swampert don't let up use Blizzard" said Israel, "protect" said Marty. The snow storm did not penetrate Quagsires shield. "Keep attacking Swampert" said Israel, and the Swampert launched another blizzard which was surprisingly blocked by another protect, but the third blizzard hit Quagsire and froze him. Israel licked his lips and took advantage of this, "Swampert use Stone Edge!!!!" Swampert summoned a sharpened stone from nowhere and slashed the Quagsire with it fainting it. Marty withdrew his Pokemon and walked over to Israel and said, "Here just take the Ground Badge and go." Israel happily took the badge and as Marty was walking away Israel said, "hey Marty" Marty turned around, "good battle." Marty had gained Israel's respect, Israel then walked over to Yasumi and they shared an embrace in celebration, Israel than looked over Yasumi's shoulder and noticed John again, "I guess he wants to battle" thought Israel, "well alright come and get some" he thought again ready for battle.

"First, let's go to the pokemon center. I don't want to hear you whine that I only won because your pokemon were in bad shape from that fight. It's not too far from here!" John said. He walked out the door and headed for the pokemon center. His pokemon were fully healed, but Israel's weren't and that would be boring beating weak pokemon. Soon, the real battle would begin!
"So, what's it gonna be. A full six on six battle? What do you want to do?" John asked, not even turning around to see if Israel had followed him. He made a few swaps in his team. Now he was fully prepared to beat Israel!
 
John swapped some members of his team, Israel didn't see which Pokemon he deposited and which ones he withdrew, and he didn't care. "Yeah sure whatever, six on six sounds good, I just don't wan't to hear any complaining about how badly I hurt your Pokemon." said Israel. They arrived at the Pokemon center and Israel healed his Pokemon, "All right it shouldn't be hard to find some patch of wilderness to battle in this being Texas and all so hurry up and lets battle" said Israel. Israel found the spot where the battle was to take place and got in position, "It only makes since that because I sent my Pokemon out first last time, that you would show your Pokemon first this time."
 
(OOC: Is that how it's going to go? Whomever sends out their pokemon first wins? I'm joking with you. :D)

"What ever you say fool! Don't be mad when I stomp you into the dirt! Aquanis! Let's take him out!" John said. He sent out the Dewott, who looked at him.
"Dewott?" he asked.
"We have a battle. A real battle. Not the time for the games from before!" John said. Dewott looked pleased and turned to face Israel.
"Dewott!" he said happily. Shadow walked over to John with a berry in her mouth. She chewed it up and swallowed it.
"I love the taste of Pecha Berries! So sweet! Oh, wait, are we battling now?" she said. John nodded and turned his attention to his opponent.
"Send out your first victim!" he said with a snarl on his face.
 
Israel sent out Sceptile, "It should have no problem taking out that unevolved Dewott" thought Israel.
"Alright John you'll have usual beating?" asked Israel confidently.
"Sceptile use Leaf Storm!!!!!" ordered Israel.
A storm of leaves picked up and headed straight for Dewott.
This was Sceptiles most powerful attack and would do alot of damage if it hit.
 
He's underestimating my Dewott. Dumbass! John thought to himself as the Sceptile blasted a Leaf Storm at Aquanis. Leaf Storm was a move that was very powerful, but weakened the one using it. Aquanis was very tough, but his main trait was his speed.
"Dodge it and use Ice Beam!" John said. Aquanis dashed out of the way and opened his mouth to fire a large bright blue beam at Sceptile. John couldn't underestimate that Sceptile. It was very tough. But, John still had this one in the bag.
 
"Crap" thought Israel, he had taken a gamble using Leaf Storm and it failed, but Israel was his father's son and knew how to come back from this. "Use Acrobatics" said Israel, The Sceptile flipped out of the way and then continued it's attack toward the Dewott. If it connected it would do double the normal damage because Sceptile wasn't holding an item.
 
"What's wrong? I thought you would be better than that! Aquanis, block it with your shells and use Water Pulse!" John said. The Dewott blocked the hit and leapt back. He fired a big blue orb of water at Sceptile. It wouldn't do much damage if it hit, but it might confuse him. That was what John was really hoping for. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something that made him groan.
"Oh god, can't you people let us battle in peace!" John shouted as a camera and a reporter came out of nowhere and started to film the battle. Whatever. Maybe this was a good thing. When John beat Israel on camera, maybe that would shut him up about how he was better than John!
 
John got the first hit but as predicted it didn't do much damage. "You were hoping to confuse my Sceptile? Huh, even if you did my Sceptile would still beat your little Dewott" said Israel. Israel then saw the cameras, "hey cameramen get lost!!! This is none of your freaken business." Great now Israel would have to deal with these vultures, he knew he had to win. Now Israel would have to find a way past the shells so Israel tapped the Pokeball with Alakazam in it, this was the code to send a telepathic message to one of his Pokemon in case he battled John, and the best thing about it was that from this far no one could tell that this was Alakazam's Pokeball. Israel sent this telepathic message to Sceptile, "Use acrobatics to make it look like you're attacking him head on but jump behind him instead, and when you're behind him use Leaf Blade." Then Israel gave his false command so it wouldn't look suspicious, "Sceptile use Acrobatics again!!!" ordered Israel. The Sceptile started his attack.
 
Damn Cheater! John thought to himself when he saw Israel's very subtle sign that he was using his Psychic type to give his commands to his pokemon. Sceptile rushed at Aquanis with Acrobatics. John waited a second before he gave his own command.
"Night Slash all around you!" John said. The sceptile leapt into the air a fraction of a second before it would have hit Aquanis and landed behind him, swinging glowing green blades at Aquanis, who blocked them with his own blades of dark energy.
"You need to learn a new trick! I've seen you use that three times now! Moron! Did you really think it would work? Aquanis, show him the error of his ways! Ice Beam!" John said mockingly. Aquanis fired the bright blue beam straight toward Sceptile. John hoped he couldn't dodge it, but he wasn't going to hold his breath.
