What is mew

y'know im not really sure what the heck it is.

Well, if I remember correctly, Mew was sleeping at the bottom of some body of water. So Protect may have been necessary for air, or just to keep anything from sneaking up on it while it was asleep.

I thought it was barrier. Like the battle that Mew and Mewtwo had. Remember, back then protect wasn't around.
 
Well I would say it is based off a cat, but it is a genetic Pokemon holding DNA from species of Pokemon.
 
It's a mixture of all different animals. /not

It's a pink, furless cat that can kill everything.

1. Why was it sleeping at the bottom of a body of water?
2. So, it can breath in space but not underwater?
 
Not all PKMn are based on animal's Like REgigigas, or Darkrai, remember that.
Mew is a genetic PKMN.

Okay. Remember when Mew was using a move with a pink bubble around it that I said was protect? Well it could also be thought of as the Placenta which surrounds the embryo/fetus.

That would explain a lot because Mew is said to have genetic material and also is the ancestor of all Pokemon, and the embryo comes before the chicken. Similarly to the egg.

The picture is not a good one but that is the bubble I meant.

It could also be supported by the fact that it was used in the cloning process thus Mewtwo was created.

Expanding on what Haza said, a placenta is made to keep the embryo alive by supplying it with nutrients and other goodies, so the bubble shield protects the user (Mew) similarly to that of the placenta. It protects it from harm and keeps it alive.

wow I knew that mew had something to do with embryo and fetus stuff (or a hairless cat which was used in fetus studying as I said somewhere) but the bubble being the thing that surrounds it? never thught of it that way/

Well let's just say that although Mew is based off that, he is easily a lot cuter looking. :)

You could have a point

What if it goes somthing like this
Arceus with out body creates Mew desings his body in Mew's DNA
Mew creates a body from it's own gene's that Arceus desinged
Arceus moves his mind in to the body and becomes a pokemon
Mew's DNA contains the genes from Arceus body because his pokemon body is created from Mew's genes

Maybe saying as Mew can transform into Arceus. Did Mew make an egg though. Legends say that Arceus was born of the first egg or something.
 
It's got cat ears, it says "mew", and its tail is long and seems to help it balance. The back legs are quite similar to that of the fluffernutter race, and it practically screams 'cat' to me.


Buuuuuuuut don't mind me.
